Still, immaculate or not, it makes no sense for Muguro to be conceived prior to Michael's death.

It could be several things. Mugaro could be Michael reincarnated. He could also be Michael's son. However in both cases considering the divine nature of Michael, he could have also been conceived after Michael's death nor does to conception have to be physical in nature. Mugaro is most likely the result of immaculate conception.

That's what I meant. It's just that it's unlikely that Michael is Muguro's biological father through normal conception.

I can't explain why this anime is so good other that it just is. I think the main reason why I love it so much is how seamless new characters seem to fit into the world of Shingeki no Bahamut, almost as if they were right there since season one.

Also, another thing is how they were able to change the personalities and views of preexisting characters without making it seem OOC! That's what really amazes me. I hardly took note of Azazel in season one (he was a stereotypical narcissistic demon) but now I can't help but be attached to him! Never thought I wouldn't want him to die. I actually think he's my favorite character in this series so far.

Kaisar has grown so much out of his initial goody two shoes knight persona that I can't help but want to see what his character has in store in the future. Nina is the type of character I usually dislike but I don't know how the creators manage to balance her on that thin line of 'adorable versus annoying'. She's doing really well but I hope as the series progresses she'll be able to have better control of her powers and actually become a main player in the series. The main disappointment I had with season one was the lack of emotionally strong, mature female leads. Amira was a child (and yes I understand her growth was sped up and there's nothing we can do about it), Jeanne was a puppet of the gods (the praying and faith kinda turns me off since she lacked resolve to make choices alone), the angels S.U.C.K. (so much for all that holy shit build up, only to be killed by a human turned demon). Rita was the only emotionally strong female but her powers just failed in comparison to the rest. So yeah, here's to hoping this season will present more girl power.

Finally, I don't know why some people are disappointed that Favaro hasn't come up yet. Actually, it's because of the fact that he hasn't appeared yet that the show is still able to focus on developing new characters and creating worlds that interlace with the world they created back in season one. I'm pretty sure when he gets back, the spotlight will be on him.

Anyway, that's just me rambling. I just really love this!!!

Well, that was certainly an interesting episode, with the most interesting bit definitely being the reveal about Jeanne being Mugaro's mother. Certainly curious to find out who the father is, and also how we got to here from where things left off after Genesis. Azazel bringing all the demons together to try to take down Charioce is also interesting, even if it seems entirely devoid of logic given how only Nina can seem to escape from the spells from that black armour and only Mugaro can nerf them; seeing as they seem to have left the city at this point, he may not be able to rely on their help anytime soon. Should also be interesting to see what happens to Kaisar, given that Charioce knows that he's lying; that surely can't end well for Kaisar, can it?

I was a little confused when Azazel told Nina ''Let me make love to you and turn you into a dragon''. What does that even mean? Then I heard him saying in japanese ''Omae wa ore ni dakarete......'' I googled it and I found out that the word 抱かれて(dakarete) have many different meanings. It can mean ''having sexual intercourse with'' but it can also mean '' to embrace''. Maybe Azazel meant to say that he is willing to hug her and turn her into a dragon or sth? And Nina takes it the wrong way and runs off with a red face. Rita then comes in and calls Azazel ''hentai akuma'' and that's why he makes a puzzled face. Then again I don't know japanese, so someone who does, could explain this better.

I have make your equal research, but I thought that ezazel not want say simply "hug" because then he says "not now, please" translated better "now in paused". Why in paused, Because is too tired to do it now? And his no-reaction to pervert, is because it seems the guy that topics like those not disturb. It is difficult to interpret correctly, also my are just hypothesis

I think Azazel's "not now, please" was an answer to Nina's "if you keep saying those things I'll transform into a dragon", as the building would be destroyed and everything.

Anyway, I agree that he may be the type who isn't disturbed by the topic

I guess he's actually speaking about making love, becuase usually you say 'idaku' when referring to 'embrace' and 'daku' when referring to sexual intercourse. But boy, he said it with a straight face :D But why wouldn't he be so bold about sex? I mean he is quite an old demon. He just can't understand why someone would be embarrased about something so natural.
And than she answers that if he is saying something like this, she really will be turning into a dragon. Azazel's answer was 'Ima wa kanbenshitekure.' which means, 'Please bear with it for now.' Maybe because he is not in his best form at the moment and/or because it would be problematic as Niina will be destroying the whole building.

Anyhow, I love this series so much. It's a thousand times better, than Genesis. Azazel was my favourite character of all times in S1 and I really like how his personality changed for the good in this season. I started to play with the card game because I really wanted to get his card.
OMG, he was so cute when he embraced Niina. I'm shipping them so hard, hope they will be together later on!
I think Niina is somehow special in her own species. As we have seen so far, dragons can transform into human. I hope we will be getting information on his father too.

As for Mugaro, he seemed to be a half-angel, but I'm still surprised that he is not a half-demon too. I guess Azazel is also thinking that he is a demon, or at least a half-demon. What will he do, when he will realize that his mother is Jeanne? It's highly likely that the father is Michael, as Mugaro also has a blue eye, identical to Michael. But it seems odd as I guess Jeanne and Michael haven't got anything physical between each other. So I also think, maybe Mugaro is a reincarnation of Michael.

Why so many people on pins and needles to see afro? I would be more happy to see Lucifer :)

Last but not least for me it is the best anime in this season and the artwork is just awesome. The plot is quite interesting, and I found the flow of the story and information just fine. The fighting scenes are also high quality which is a delight. I'm just a bit disappointed that still no merchandise have came out.

In the first part of the episode, the disparity between forces between the two factions, the story unfolds a little bit, which is not as exciting as usual, as the result was quite deserved. But fortunately, the two twists that mitigate this shortcoming. The curiosity about what's going to be in the future, about any new developments that can change this situation, is prevalent at this stage of the story. I look forward to knowing why Giovanna's character has ended up in jail, and not just that. Nina's character remains funny in her reactions. Azazel's behavior is wrong, he continues to fight with a low head, without looking into the real potential in the hands of the king. I love ending, it's so cute.

This second season is so good, I do not understand why it is so underestimated by users, mah!
I can not wait to see the next episode.

I have to admit that was one of my favorite episodes so far. I felt in the beginning that Azazel and Nina had some chemistry going on by their interactions. Which seems to be the case as we go further into the series. About what people are saying with Azazel's bluntness regarding offering to have sex with Nina. I do not think he associates sex with affection. Which is why he did not have much of a reaction. But when Nina wanted to hug him he was hesitating. Perhaps he is not used to affection at all or the understanding of it. But overall I think Azazel has had a lot of good charecter development from season 1. I have my suspicions about Kaisar being smarter than he looks. While Charioce knows that he was lying perhaps that was Kaisar's intentions? To use his lack of lying skills to his advantage. One thing a friend of mine pointed out was how Charioce seemed to be the type of charecter to lust for power. While we don't know much of his power yet I happen to agree. From many of the battle scenes we have seen so far he reminds me a bit of Gilgamesh from his charecter design and personality. Seeing Jeanne was a bit of a shock for me. I did not expect to see her at all in this season tbh. Mugaro is a smol bean I hope he doesn't make rash choices during the time Azazel is gone.

If the King Charioce and his minions continue like this, there will be nothing left of the town soon.

And he reminds me more and more of a capable and intelligent version of Zolzal.

Nice to see Nina's backstory. Azazel being too forceful as usual.

And Mugaro is the child of Jeanne and a god, Michael probably.

I really like this series, which is no wonder, considering the amount of attention given to a really good batch of bishies. I don't think I have ever seen an action high-profile anime which follows an impressionable young girl's pov with so much emphasis on male hotness before. I fully approve.

My only problem is that I can't exactly buy into the idea of dem evil humans wose than demons in this case. I mean, demons weren't exactly humanity's best friends, humans are weaker and suffered a lot. And Azazel is a good character, but a proper piece of shit as a person (as a demon should be, no qualms here). Yeah, currently humans do abuse their higher hand, but you can't say that it comes out of nowhere considering the amount of suffering they get from the other parties. Azazel made them suffer too.
I hope that they won't go the edgiest root of "look at humanity's sins" fully. Some lines about the new king abolishing crime and giving people prosperity make me hopeful, as fell as the set up for his love story with Nina, but the part about him torturing Jeanne makes him into a bastard of an almost irredeamable magnitude.
Not that it's likely that I'll drop this series even if they do though, lmao, not with these action, budget and characters.

Thanks for explaining this. I guess it's true and not unbelievable that he would be so bold about sex. I had my doubts about this, cause.. why would he need to make love to her while simply hugging her or talking about sex or kissing her is enough to make her heart beat fast and turn her into a dragon? It's a little silly, except if he meant that he'll make her fall in love with him so she won't lust for any other guys, thus he'll be the only one controlling her dragon form.

Well interesting topic nevertheless, thank you xD I love the series too. I've also been fan of Azazel since season 1 but I've never expected that he would have such a big role in season 2 and that we would actually get to ship him with the female protagonist as well. Of course, seeing the trailers of the anime, Charioce (or that guy who looks like him anyway) will be a rival for Nina's heart too. Could you perhaps translate to me what he's saying in minute 0:42 of this trailer? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3V5TOaaeRTQ&ab_channel=KANGEI
Can't wait to see what will happen next!

I was disappointed by the first episode and how S2 abruptly went in a different direction from S1's episodic fun but, having watched more, it's won me over. It's like a JoJo Bizarre Adventure sequel: goes in an entirely different direction, with previous power-level logic thrown to the wind, and old cast members acting different without it being a negative. I don't get what Kaiser's deal is but I'm liking Azazel's transition to likability A LOT. Him making Nina run outside naked after suggesting they get it on was pretty great, also.

And Nina is such a lovable bundle of blushing lulz; the animation budget really brings her to life. The series would be a downer without her--she retains the fun vibe from S1. Waaaay better than Amira's pigtailed innocence.

Also: S2 actually has a plot I care about!? S1 seemed like a jumble of episodic content that eventually went to a vague final destination. This is plot-driven all the way. Realy liking that.

PS: I don't remember what happened to Jeanne at end of S1. At all. OH WELL!

Nina's and Azazel's interactions are just fun to watch, I'm shipping them hard although the PV contains some nina-charioce(in disguise) moment. Also, the PV looks like nina & rita will help jeanne escape or will escape with jeanne. Mugaro might also be Michael himself, eh, or should I say reincarnation of Michael. This show easily becoming one of my favorite this season alongside UK and TgK.

So much this. With other shows I don't bother to stream them in the highest quality because all the flaws stand out. With Bahamut I can go full 1080 and put in on the big flatscreen and be delighted at the good animation and fantastic colour palette and art. Kudo's to them.

I love Nina. She can be naive and sweet most of the time, but has just enough cheek and spirit to not become you typical anime heroine.

The budget for this anime must be insane. But I'm not complaining, it just shows how much they care about this anime, which is why I hope it gets the popularity and recognition it deserves.

Jeanne was a character in S1, right? I think I've heard that name before. Seems like she's Mugaro's mother...interesting.

its probably not particularly expensive, this is just the difference between and anime that finishes a large part of its production prior to airing versus most shows which are rushing to reach air date. If you go back and watch the previews from months ago they were showing finished scenes from later episodes that havent even happened yet and might not even happen in the next episode either (like nina riding on a mine cart, favaro showing up, and so on)

It really is just the power of competent production. I know alot of bones shows finish production on alot of episodes before the first episode airs and I think trigger does as well.

Actually according to Cygames Pictures director, not only does the series have a very good schedule but it also has superior budget than the usual TV series and it shows. Most of the scenes in the episodes look movie quality.

I was wondering what happened to Jeanne, glad to see her alive. Looking back to season 1, I would say Mugaro is her son and Michael(it would be surprising if he is alive but welcomed) is the father.

"Let me make love to you"
and just like that, Azazel became best boy of Spring 2017.
Could've at least said please though dide...y'all need to learn some chivalry from Kaisar XD
I did laugh my ass off at Nina running down the streets practically naked though lol I will never get sick of her reactions to hot men.

So, I'm guessing Mugaro is the son of Jeanne that Charioce was talking about??
I mean, his other eye is covered, he had a weird holy ability and he was hidden amongst the demon slaves. It's gotta be him!

Also surprisingly capable. And very hot.
I lament already that he'll probably ends up being shown as a total psycho and later destroyed.
Like, it really bothers me.

I have the feeling they are writing something better than that. They showed him being in front of a grave, so he might have some kind of revenge as motivation, and he stated in this episode that he wanted to make "a better world"? for humans (free from gods and demons)? That would be at least not the one dimensional villain we got in season 1 (just being bad for being bad).

And man, he has some charisma too and might the prettiest of all characters : not bad for a villain. Maybe he will end up not being one after all. At least I'm not so sure about his future development. That's a good thing.

Fueeh so Jeanne is the mom of Muguro huh. Well the theories about the father could be as fellow:
1st: Kaisar is the father. That would explain the black hairs and the similar eye. It might explain why he can't go against the King as he might execute Jeanne if Kaisar tries anything. Him been in the same order of knights would give him countless times for him to have interactions with Jeanne.
2nd: Michael could be the father thus explain the angelic like powers of Muguro.
3rd: Favaro could be the father since he was in fact the holy knight who saved the world from Bahamut thus the holy child thing.
4th and my less favorite: the king could have raped or something Jeanne making her pregnant.
5th: well she might be the Virgin Mary from Shingeki no Bahamut.
6: other possibilites.

Anyway we need to remember that Michael is dead since he died in the s1 by the hands of demon Jeanne. 10 years is also a long time for anything to happen and since we don't know the exact age of Muguro it doesn't help, well we know he is more than 2 years old since Azazel met him two years before the present. Meaning that since the end of the s1 where Jeanne rejoined the Orleans order and thus 8 years or so later when Muguro was sold to slavery by her she was probably imprisoned too.
