This is the only thing this season that hasn't disappointed me so far. Even CGI parts looked decentish. |

That was a pretty nice start, but the ending was definitely unexpected, now starting with the first episode of the main series to see what is about. |

buyusetna said: contender for AOTS i'd say very good start Only negative I would say is there is too much of a gap between Shindo and Hanamori. I hope that gets more balanced later, Hanamori has to have more going on then they showed. But good ending, really makes you want to see what happened next and you don't even have to wait a week. |

The way I see it this is just meant to establish the MC "Shindo" and give us a good idea of his character, and really I think it did a fantastic job of that. Also all of the CGI is definitely on point which is nice because there's definitely a few shows this season with crappy CGI cough Frame Arms Girl cough |

Definitely an intro intended to establish the characters. Maybe a little slow at points, but it does the job well enough that I'd say not to skip it. And maybe the events here will play into the main plot later... hard to say at this point with only 1 main episode out. I again have to commend the animators/staff for producing CG in a TV anime that doesn't look jerky, uncanny or stiff, and actually works for the series. Hopefully, this sets a new standard going forward. |

A nice story to introduce the character with a good cliff-hanger. Promising. I was wondering what TOEI would deliver as its first foray in 3DCGI TV animation (after its more than decent theatrical productions) and this looks actually pretty good for what it is. 3DCGI rarely stood out (a few early scenes and the head movements inside the plane) Enjoyment: 4/5 Score: 7/10 |

Awwwww, wish it stayed 2D. Oh well, the CG isn't bad. Good introduction to Shindo, Like the character designs. Music is great. |

I was surprised by the animation after watching the crappy CGI from the preview and the cheapo opening (mostly stock footage and obscured shots of the characters). At least we got half an episode done with proper animation. Other than that it was interesting and it seems to be targeted to adults, which is what I was hoping for. |

Nice. The episode's story except for the ending felt like that recent popular Japanese TV show Leaders and was compelling to watch. Then it switched genres but still looks interesting, at least for the moment. |

Best thing I've watched so far this season. Cube-like thing reminded me a bit of Kuromukuro (the relic was in cube-like form at the beginning).- The chars seem good (and older ... not your usual shounen-boys). And the story of episode 00 was a good introduction. So that guy is supposed to negotiate (according to the description) with those aliens and in this episode they showed his skills. + nice to see the undersecretary guy being nice (wanted to help his old business partner) instead of a evil corrupt politician. |

This hit me from left field, was contemplating turning it off by about 8 minutes not because it was just not the escapism I was looking for. Glad I finished it and will give the series a shot. Think a 7 is fairly accurate for this zero but hope for more with the main series. |

I expected more CG, but it was kept to a minimum in this episode. I really liked Shindo-san, he seems like a capable guy, now, what the hell was that cube? |

The mix of CG and 2D was too jarring, I'll be dropping this one. Do studios use CG as a crutch (lack of proper 2D skills) or because they think it looks good? EDIT: After watching the true first episode I've changed my mind. The CG wasn't too bad (hell of a lot better than Berserk) and the show is actually very intriguing. |

Like watching paint dry until the surprise at the end I guess. I'd read too much about it and knew what was going to happen at the end, which I regret as it would've caught me completely off-guard. Oh well. I liked episode 1 for what it's worth. |

My expectations after 20 minutes: another Fune wo Amu anime about business, not as good and way too idealistic but certainly interesting. My expectations after 25 minutes: WTF?!! Well, it would be interesting to see where this would eventually lead. My guess is Shindou would serve as embassador for aliens. His coworker was certainly annoying one but I wonder how many people will actually survive the cube. and btw - very good CG! I realized only half-way through that I'm actually watching one. Not bad, not bad at all. |

Only a small part was cg this time. Calming music fits. Starts more interesting than acca. Non of the politicians have evil grins or derp yet. This Mandelbox fractal gives me some odd nostalgia. |

I was liking the whole business aspect of it, but that ending, WHAT?? I saw the PV before too, but this still caught me off guard LOL. |

So, he had some connections, that got him that random Uni professor, that helped that company develop some super metal while he lazed around 1 month and thats his feat? Ok... Without an engineer background youre able to help shit there, so no way he actually did something helpful there... Pretty lame way to introduce this "super negotiator" as someone outstanding. Well, I guess the main point was, that he had a good attitude considering morale and ethics. Liked gfx, sound and atmosphere though, but I hope the subtext Yaoi vibes wont become a theme, but ah well, lets see. :) |

The animation turned out much better than I'd hoped for at first, the mix between CGI and the 2D hand-drawn effects came out pretty well... The background music were really good too, I liked the montage sequence in between the episode. So I assume this is technically episode 1 as its noted as a prequel to the actual TV series, this was a nice start all in all. |

That was super cool. Love the characters already, and I was prepared to watch more 'negotiations', but then the ending happened. NGE feels, anyone? I've heard comparisons with this and Arrival, and I can see why that is. |

Seems like it'll be a very good and intellectual series! |

I'll admit I did watch episode 1 first, but I really didn't like this at all. The constant character shilling (Shindo-san is literally God), the dozens of names and titles that I have to pause to read and Hanamori are all really, really annoying, even more so than in episode 1. And despite the slow pacing, I'm still utterly confused. Like, I think I understood that the owner didn't want to retire, that they invented some expensive steel plate, and that the other guy never wanted the land in the first place. But I'm thoroughly confused as to how all this happened exactly or why I should find it impressive. Also, this whole episode (except for the scenes from episode 1) could have been live action and basically nothing of value would have been lost. There wasn't even any impressive character acting, breathtaking backgrounds or quirky character designs or anything to make this prequel worth looking at. |
