I'm going to be so disappointed if the child theory is true because I know a lot of people including myself thought this was the case from very early on.

I mean, even without the help of the flashbacks, it's a viable theory.

- Dr Magata was not alone in the room - obvious, as the corpse in the wedding dress would not have been able to sever both arms herself.
- If no one entered the room for fifteen years, they must have already been there from the beginning.
- Assuming the room was inspected prior to Dr Magata moving in (for health and safety reasons presumably), eliminating the chance that the second person entered prior to her, if they didn't enter at the same point in which she did, they must have been born there.
- And if Dr Magata was the only person in there, they must have been her mother.

As Sherlock Holmes says - when you have eliminated all which is impossible, then whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth. Even without any evidence or implication that she was sexually active, Sohei and Moe should have at least considered the fact that, as a young woman, Magata could have been pregnant when she entered the facility.

'F' could also stand for 'family' or 'familial'.

Honestly, I wouldn't consider this a successful show at all if something a bunch of people suspected from Episode 3 didn't occur to a 'genius' until Episode 8.

You have to keep in mind that the viewer is shown so much more that none of the cast could had possible had known. Unlike the viewer, they didn't know she was sexually active (especially not with her uncle). As far as any of the main cast is concern Dr Magata was a sheltered girl that was locked alone in a highly secured room at the age of 15.

Also from the main casts perspective the system used to guard Dr Magata wasn't flawless. The system they had known for less than a day had already shown multiple flaws.

I think the 'F' stands for 'free' or something similar. If I recall correctly, killing her parents had something to do with setting herself and her uncle free. The message could be about her daughter free and/or herself in death.

Towards the beginning of the anime it is mentioned that Dr Magata suddenly started granting interviews and stuff (I believe they were voice only except with Moe?). I think at this point Dr Magata may had already been dead and it was her daughter doing the interviews and meet with Moe.

I am not sure if she died of naturally causes, killed herself or if her daughter killed her but there seems to have been a plan put into place for her daughter to become free and for that to happen her existence had to remain a secret.

One of the main reasons I think it is her daughter that is still alive and not Dr Magata is the 'Michiru' that first answered when the main cast first encountered the locked door. She sounded young and frightened; which makes sense for someone that has never had contact with anyone in-person except for her mother. There was also the robot mentioning something about 'Michiru' being in the room but with the cast believing the robot is 'Michiru' and in the VR deal she answers 'Michiru' when asked who she is.

As for Dr Magata's uncle being killed, I think Dr Magata's death and being questioned about the past triggered his wife into some type of psychotic break resulting in her killing him.

it is still very unclear to me...i'm such a noob on understanding things.
The dawn sunrise slowly color changing landscape was very beautiful!
looks like Saikawa-sensei must be really close on solving the truth!
isolation freak Magata Shiki is really creepy!
4/5.

The combination of Nishinosono's personality and voice makes me unspeakably happy.

Barring anything stupid happening in the last 3 episodes, I'm probably going to need to knock someone off my favorite characters for her.

The "Perfect Insider" could very well be Michiru (as in, the robot created by Shiki). Michiru can execute orders (for example "Michiru, unlock the door"). Shiki was a genius after all and Michiru does have a functional robot arm that can grab things (like a door knob... or a knife).

In one episode, Moe once ordered Michiru to unlock/open the door and Michiru responded (which means *anybody* could use their voice to ask Michiru for assistance). Even from a distance... like thru a speaker.

I agree in that F could very well stand for Family. Maybe Shiki was adopted and her (adoptive) parents murdered her biological parents? If this is the case, and let's say she found out about this, that could explain the cold-blooded murder scene. No matter how detached or disturbed a person is, they won't usually attack their own family unless their family is the cause of serious emotional trauma or if the person was simply born a psychopath/sociopath.

And as for the bear; it definitely is sufficiently large to hide in there.

And there's also Shiki's alternate egos (aka personalities) that may have done something. I sure hope so. That would definitely make the whole thing more interesting :).

Can't wait to see the next few episodes!

Pretty good Ep. Damn you, Moe. I were really interesting in what Sensei would say. So it's not Magata. Well, this show really have a lot of mind fuck*ng.

Anyways, a pretty good ep. I actually loved it. This is without doubt the best series of this season (of the ones I have picked). Too bad it's only 3 ep left. :(

Oh shit, I think I get it now, the moment the prof said "That wasn't Magata Shiki you saw" and the definitely different more mature voice of her in the end. Through the computer monitor and software Magata Shiki developed, anyone could have impersonated her...or make it seem like it was someone else entirely that was her the whole time. Shiki apparently knew full well that she and her uncle would be killed in the future for whatever reason, yet she still went through with it to achieve her goal of a perfect environment, perhaps sleeping with her uncle as a mere stepping stone to do it. But here's a thought; what if the murdered girl, and the girl displayed on the monitor, was in fact Shiki when she was younger, and Shiki's younger sister Miki respectively? Time apparently stopped for her, "Miki" said in English. But is that true? I think it would make a little more sense if the the body in the wedding dress was in fact Shiki's latest murder victim, her younger sister Miki. That would explain her apparent youth, and how her appearance matched the young girl on the monitor which could have been faked through her program. Moe said Shiki and Miki were very different, but she only knows her voice and appearance through the monitor.

Then there's that theory floating around that Shiki may have had a daughter...a 15 year old daughter that would have been similar in age to her when she secluded herself, never before appearing in front of anyone else again until now. a possible daughter would explain a lot, but more questions arise. Shiki had the guards order everything, but what of daily necessities a baby would need? It's be really strange to not see that in the records (although could have been rewritten) the guards would have definitely still taken notice at the abnormal amount of diapers, milk, and baby clothes. Also, if it was her daughter that was murdered, as well as the girl on the monitor...how did the real Shiki escape? With all those new questions, this theory is the least likely on my list. But then again, the imagery could be interpreted as metaphorical, which would support this theory. The girl without arms also wouldn't be able to be identified without the arms (no fingerprints). Perhaps Michiru is the daughter's name? Not totally mnid-blown, but more like mini fireworks are going off in my head.

But now here's another outlandish theory to throw out there...as to the "perfect insider". Instead of a daughter, or Miki and Shiki switching places...what if Shiki switched places with that lab girl in the school swimsuit that has the hots for the prof? The gesture of her holding Moe's face, was just like the way Miki described her. Again, during those 15 years, Shiki was in the middle of puberty, and could impersonate anyone through the monitors that even a man could theoretically do it, so it wouldn't be entirely impossible for her to have a different appearance. But then again, she would have had to find someone who looked like her in the past, so much her family wouldn't be able to tell it was her after her death. Well, I did say it was an outlandish theory after all.

But that's those in the end, those are just theories until we reach the truth. I can't wait to see next week's episode now.

What a bizarre train of thought the prof has though. Freaking emu? Or were the ostriches? Either way, weird as fuck.

Man, I love mysteries like these that make me think rather than shows tha just give you the answer.

Good theories you guys have got there. Never thought of any of those. But yeah some of them makes pretty much sense. Let's see how it unfold itself. :)

It explains Saikawa's comment about "the person you talked to was not Magata Shiki". And it also explains that mature sounding voice saying "Michiru unlock the door" not matching the voice that was heard through the video conferences. The mature voice = the actual Magata, the soft younger voice = daughter.

What bothers me though is that if it was really Michiru (Shiki's daughter) who talked to Moe before, she said this:
"My parents died when I was fourteen. A doll did it. I saw it happen."
There is no way this would make sense if Michiru said this.

Of course, she could lie and impersonate older Magata because she was doing that since her twelve birthday whe she started giving interviews, yes, but somehow I don't believe she would actually lie.

Let me also say this that your voice can change. I mean a voice can be totally different in real life and on a video conference. Take me for instance, I have a lot darker voice on videos than when I talk with someone eye to eye. I dunno if it's my ear, but I think I have seen a situation like this.

And remember this could also just be more mind fuc*ing. It would also be that Shiki have changed her voice. From what I know devices like this exist. Though it's very unlikable, this is also a theory. But that makes less sense with all the information we have got to know. I also believe it's Shiki pregnancy theory. I don't think her sister would change place with her after what she did. And how the hell did she got inside there with so much tight security.

A number of things became clear to me this episode:
- The relationship Saikawa and Nishinosono is immensely interesting. I've begun to love the dynamic between the two and the way their bizarre perspectives are compared and contrasted.
- The idea of Miki being directly involved with the murder is becoming increasingly likely.
- Nishinosono looks damn fine in a bikini.

Something else just occurred to me:

The knife used to kill the Director is the exact same (type of) knife Magata used to kill her parents. It'd be unusual for that to be a coïncedence, but it would be similarly odd if it was the same actual knife. You'd say it'd been kept by the police as evidence 15 years ago.

Anyway, that was an exciting episode. Seems like they are picking up the pace when it comes to the investigation, that's cool.

Relaxing episode with Moe and Saikawa talking it out huh :P I don't mind, but what was it that he found out ... Moe didn't meet with Shiki? Who else could it have been ... they're talking about have Miki replace Shiki and she DID say she felt like they were one last episode. Hmm ... the plot thickens :O Except, well, now they can reach the outside world and the police are gonna get involved soon. I wonder what all those strange visuals were supposed to symbolize ... like the ostriches and stuff O_o Either way it seems like Shiki got what she wanted to be "free" in her lab ... after killing her parents. Well I guess we'll have to see what happens next episode when the police and people come :O
