| There was a bunch of armed people who tried to kill them all just a moment ago, and then they just stroll around like there's no in a million chance that anything dangerous could happen. And - surprise-surprise - one of the attackers turns out to be allive and - guess what - shoots! How in the world something like that could happen? And Meer, who just has realized her role in the life and found all the answers, of course heroically sacrifices her life... for more drama. It's hard to put in words to which extent far-fetched, forced and trivial this twist of plot is... Oh, and Athrun is sharp shooter, indeed. First he shot the gun out of Rey's hands, and that was after some decent roll, now Meer's pistol, and he had only split second to aim... |

| ^Yeah that was a weird ballerina thing that Meer did when she was shot. Still, I was actually sad about her death, because the whole time she was misleaded and used by Durandal, though it was also her fault since she wanted to be Lacus instead of herself. At least she ended up protecting Lacus after being won over by Lacus and Athrun's words. Athrun was pretty BA this episode, except some of his jumps and flips were a little exaggerated. But he was still awesome compared to Kira. Everyone has so much compassion :( I expect Athrun to cry because he actually knew Meer, but Lacus and Meyrin cried as well. Kira just looked really sad. seems like Meer's death hit Lacus hard as seen in the PV. But anyways...why the hell would they want to go strolling around in town in the midst of war??? They should've listened to Athrun instead being so laid back. Athrun seems to be the most logical one atm. |

| (rewatching) (HD remaster Ep45) Lacus is too nice. I just have to say "wow" at the brainwashing job done on Meer. She was almost starting to believe she was the real Lacus. Athrun - not afraid of bullets. |

| If this show things it'll gain sympathy for Meer by flashbacking to all the scenes that made me not like her in the first place, then they're wrong. Flashbacks are already not necessary for the most part, but this is such a good example of why they can harm your story more than help it. |
| Didn't really like Meer at first but this episode kinda made me sympathic towards her, sure she was easily manipulated but her whole situation was so shitty. |

| This episode really felt pointless. Aren't there more urgent things to deal with this random faux-Lacus bitch? And please show, stop trying to make me care about a character with the (over)use of flashbacks from early episodes, it doesn't work. Mu piloting the Hyaku Shik- er I mean the Akatsuki was cool, I guess. |

 Haha, girl wants attention from her lover. Ofcourse he's going to be dwelling on recent events (ie a huge swathe of humanity being wiped out, also his girl is on the enemy's hit list). Remember after Junius 7 crashed to the Earth and the Minerva landed in the ocean, and the crew engaged in target practice on the deck of the ship? And Athrun got a perfect score? It appears that this moon city of Copernicus is a neutral city-state, like Von Braun from UC Gundam. There are unlikely to be many ZAFT agents here, and they're almost certainly not actively on the lookout for Lacus. From ZAFT's perspective there is little reason for Lacus to leave Onogoro right now. ZAFT agents on Copernicus were only tipped off when Meer attempted to contact the crew of the Archangel, and it was a stroke of luck that the people who came to visit Meer included the real Lacus. |
| feels like any time a character becomes too complicated for the writers to go on with they just kill em. is there no redemption for these poor girls other than death, every time? just because you can't handle the complicated writing you started? |
