The official site of Gangan Joker magazine announced that the author of Inu x Boku SS, Cocoa Fujiwara, died on March 31 at the age of 31. The cause of death was not revealed.

Her debut was a work titled Calling, which she made when she was only fifteen. She chose not to go to high school so that she could draw manga. Fujiwara was a big fan of RPGs such as Final Fantasy, which was quite evident in her works.

Fujiwara's most recent manga, Katsute Mahou Shoujo to Aku wa Tekitai shite Ita., is currently being serialized in the magazine, and the last chapter was published on March 20 in the April 2015 issue. Plans for the manga's tankoubon release, as well as unpublished materials, will be announced later. Katsute Mahou Shoujo to Aku wa Tekitai shite Ita. recently tied for 19th place in the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2015 rankings.

"If you tremble with indignation at every injustice, then you are a comrade of mine"

When the union's inspiration through the workers' blood shall run
There can be no power greater anywhere beneath the sun
Yet what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one
For the Union makes us strong

This is quite sudden. May she rest in peace.

Her last post on Twitter was a view from her parents' house when she went home. It has been retweeted almost 4,000 times as of this post.

A pioneer for creating the first ever tsunshun in anime history which was done well with that of Riricho. Truly a sad day. I kind of teared up about learning about this. Whenever someone dies young, and someone extremely creative like that and one who started her career at such a young age, it makes me feel unsettled.

Condolences to all of her loved ones. I'm sure she meant a lot to them. Rest in peace and enjoy yourself up in heaven, Fujiwara.

I am shocked and sad... I really liked her Dear and Watashi no Ookami-san... Also her Inu x Boku SS (I only watched anime of that) was very nice as well. Her new manga looked interesting too, but we will never be able to get more of it. She wasn't that old either. Really, life is unpredictable...

R.I.P, may you find a place in heaven.

Most probably fake. Just like those artists. Before they die, their artworks pretty much rubbish; but after passed away, their artworks value skyrocket.

I think it is some sort of business strategic to fake her death in order to make her works value higher.

I mean we don't even know how she looks like at all.

What a f*cked up thing to say.

Well this sucks, she was so young.I enjoyed Inu x Boku SS anime, and first few chapters of Katsute Mahou Shoujo were a really fun read imo so i was kinda looking forward to future chapters.
Anyway, hopefully she's in a better place now.

Mind what you say. Death is not something to be joked about and even if I can't deny there might be people like that I doubt it's the case here. She was way too young to even consider that. Her career just started and she left us too early...

As to "we don't know what she looked like" we do. Fujiwara-sensei held a few signing sessions, one of them last year in summer in Germany and I saw her myself.

Rest in peace, Sensei...
