Did Bartender make you want to drink alcohol?

I'm just saying, I would start watching an episode and I would think, "Darn, alcohol is so much fun ... especially with this music and awesome show ... I'll just have myself a little drink..."

Then before I knew it I would be three sheets to the wind.

I've stopped drinking alcohol in order to lose weight, so I don't know if I'll ever finish the series...

Hahaha, ha. Ha. To be quite honest, I drank while watching the entire series so I could feel like I was in it. I didn't watch one episode without a glass of Bailey's. And just to clear things up, drinking in real life just doesn't seem that great as it appears in the show.

HOLY FUCK LOL @ All anime makes me want to drink alcohol

Not really. It makes me curious to try the drink that is being described, but no, it doesn't make me want to go out into the bar and get it right that second xD

I'm curious about the drinks now, and admittedly drank a few more glasses than I have for a while. But no, I'm not going to hit the bars either.

Then again, money, or lack of, might be a good deterrence too.

I agree with you, and as you said, its kinda expensive, here in Sweden those drinks would
cost an arm and a leg

Last option made me lol.

Yeah, drinking isn't as awesome as Bartender makes it out to be. Maybe because there aren't any bartenders or bars in RL as magically talented as Ryuu or supernaturally well-stocked as Eden Hall.

I second that. I remember thinking to myself while watching the first couple of episodes. Where in hell do you find such great bartenders?

And oh ya, I was thinking of the bottle of whiskey in my cabinet while watching. I haven't finished the series so there is still a chance that I might have a little drink.

This anime inspired me to learn how to make and serve cocktails and other alcoholic drinks. I boucht an bartender set, some books about it and all the alcohol that I needed. Since that I love to make somebody a cocktail.
Here in germany its also difficult to find such a unique bar as in the anime. They all think that a bar means to be a place where someone get heavily drunk for less money. *all idiots*
The alcohol which is shown in bartender is not really so expensive for my relations, because I'm working as independant game designer.
In 2008 I specialized myself in single-malt whiskey's *not american crappy whisky*, but the Maccallan 1946 (also shown in bartender) is to unique and expensive to drink it ......one bottle cost more than $3000.

"Did bartender make me drink alcohol?"

Each month I drink a little glass of an 30 years old Ardbeg or 15 years old bowmore (rust-red) to relax from my work. But if I want to create a totally new cocktail I have to try my work until it fits.
This anime only shown me that it is fun to make cocktails (for you or somebody else) in a peaceful and elegant atmosphere ^^ ......and its also important to listen to your guests.

Every second month I invite friends to make cocktails for them.

Hell yea. Some of those drinks look yummy. Besides alcohol consumption isn't all about getting drunk. Sometimes a relaxing glass can really take the edge off.

After watching 3 episodes (and fully intending to finish!) I was left craving a drink with a friend. The music and the relaxing tone made me think of just drinking some fine whiskey with my boys. Pause. Haha, real talk though it's sick how they give the recipes too at the end of the episode! It's an interesting take on alcohol, one that I'd be willing to embrace myself!

Watching this series actually got me interested in learning how to mix drinks rather than drink them. Dunno if anyone else felt the same way.

It has actually. I really had no interest in drinking before. Any alcohol I've tasted has always been awful, and the people around me are only ever interested in drinking to get drunk, which I am not.

Midway through the series I immediately started looking around to see if any bars like this even existed, and they really don't, atleast in America. All of our bars are retarded dive bars which are mostly like clubs. Loud, rowdy, and all about sports, 'the irish', and cheap beers and drinks, which I am not at all interested in.

Granted, I wouldn't probably hit up a place like "Eden Hall" until I was well off with a career job and had the money to blow on such small quantities of beverages, but I'd really like to stop by a nice, calm bar, and relax with a couple nice drinks and wind down in the soothing environment after a day at work or something like that. Too bad America is such a barbaric country and no one seemingly cares enough to have a place like that around.

I don't even like alcohol, but I really got this urge to just start mixing up fancy drinks and forcing people to drink them. I don't get the urge to drink them so much no. If bars were like that in real life I'd probably be more open to trying more drinks, so relaxing... but...eh. I'll stick to my root beer.

Im a university student, so naturally ive been drinking for a while now so it didn't make me want to drink. Rather i've had the temptation to try a few of the drinks. At the same time though im a beer man so alot of these things arent really my things. And lets be honest partying with spirits makes for a rough morning more then beer.

Yes! This anime is almost completely responsible for getting me interested in alcohol and my current obsession with mixing cocktails. I went out and bought a shaker and everything, lol... After finally finding a local supplier of apple brandy, the Jack Rose has become my signature cocktail- it's such a pretty color!

I think what I really like about this show is not that it made me want to drink, but more of how the story line actually helped me understand why different people do drink although some of the drinks seemed to look a bit yummy, lol. And that I'm old enough, I can go to the bar and try them.

On the other hand, I wish that the bars around me were more like Eden Hall.

Every episode makes me want to make those drinks.

I'm a bartender myself so I really enjoyed each episode and would make one of those drinks after work just to try the ones that were uncommon.

You would be surprised by some of the amazing bars and bartenders out there and the bar I currently work in has a larger collection

I really don't need anime for that, though some have you reaching for the bottle a bit quicker (Ergo Proxy, Cowboy Bebop, I'm looking at you!).

Also, trying to loose weight is never an excuse to stop drinking. Just switch away from beer, mixed drinks, white wine, or whatever was making you fat in the first place.

Get some Nikka From the Barrel. It's not expensive, better than others that are, appreciated by experienced whisky drinkers, yet accessible enough for beginning whisky affecionados.

Drinking to get wasted is indeed not as great no. Sitting in a slighty dark bar with ambient music, watching a skilled bartender do his thing while drinking an amazing cocktail might be a bit great though.

It's a shame there aren't many bars like that. Found one in Barcelona and it's the only one I've ever been to.

I've never liked the taste of alcohol. I think it's a little weird to spend money on most drinks that don't really taste all that good, just to get you to the point of intoxicated. But I've always thought mixology was a cool hobby that really had no benefit to me but nonetheless looked amazing with skill. It's basically chemistry you can drink. Now that I can get behind.

I do think the way Bartender approaches alcohol usage is a little overselling and romanticized, portraying it as a sort of tool to reflect on oneself rather than escaping from life's hardships. But nevertheless I really enjoy the show for it's relaxing episodic nature and messages about life, dreams and passion. The narrating is top notch too.
