I collect video games, have amassed a "Plan to Watch" list that hopefully gets complete this decade, possess some artistic ability, and like to meet others who enjoy games and anime as well.
hey,
I saw your review for Heatguy J and been trying to find a download for the series. Did you download it or stream? I can't seem to find any torrents for it :(
Ah, okay. The reason I asked is because you're watching Ghost Hound and that's actually on Netflix Instant. :P
I downloaded Macross because I wanted to be able to watch it subbed + uncut, and the box set of the series is out of print and ridiculously over-priced (like a lot of stuff, unfortunately). But I like it enough that I kinda want to watch Robotech just to see the differences.
Thanks for the dub recommendations! I prefer sub'd too but some dubs are not bad. I actually enjoyed Speed Grapher's dub enough that I couldn't really imagine watching it subbed - the main hero and villain both had excellent voice actors.
I did say that last time. XD I don't know what's up with me. So, are you watching a lot of these anime on Netflix Instant? They have so many available, I just wish they gave the option to watch them subbed. Though some of the dubs are decent (Darker Than Black, Speed Grapher had good dubs). If you can think of any other dubs that are decent, let me know and I'll prioritize watching them. I know Bacanno is on Instant and the dub is supposed to be quite good.
Yeah, I've amassed a pretty massive "To Watch" list, though I see you're just the same. :) I wouldn't be able to keep track of what anime is out there or what interests me without the help of this site. It's definitely my anime Backloggery.
I've been trying to watch at least one show for a few months now, since Netflix has a ton of anime on their streaming service. Only downside is that you can only watch it dubbed. But it's all Funimation stuff and their dubs tend to be fairly good quality. That's how I watched Darker Than Black (f'in love that show), Speed Grapher, Claymore, and Noein.
Then I've been renting the discs for DBZ Kai and Trigun. Never, ever thought I'd be a Dragonball Z fan but the Kai edit is amazing! And Baccano is definitely high up on my "to watch" list.
The OVA series was made with connecting the plots of seasons 1 and 2 in mind, so there are references to both. It helps set up the plot for an extremely controversial twist found in season 2.
Hm, trying to remember an anime and since you're a big watcher I though maybe you'd recognize it: It's a series where a group of guy and girls go off into a magical world to find something and the men gain special swords by pulling it out of the chest of their partners? << It wasn't that good but I wanted to add it to my list, maybe rewatch it.
Anfiniti is dead I'm sure, you aren't missing anything.
Well, last I heard the author (Ai Yazawa) had been hostpialized due to illness or some such last year and came back this last June saying she hadn't held a pen since her illness and might not even return. The plot left off, fortunatly, on a low key level so I think if you catch up you won't be too anxious. If you haven't read spoilers you'll be quite shocked at what all happens.
I don't like to read incomplete manga either. *Dengeki Daisy* =_= The suspense!
Haven't seen Clannad, need to add it to plan to watch and a few others now that I think of it. *goes to update*
Hey, what's new? I'm finally back on this thing! Recently Netflix added a bunch of anime to their Instant Viewing, so on a whim I started watching Darker Than Black. It's really good! I'm kinda hooked, only got a few episodes to go...
I omitted some shows I didn't like, and included astrisks for 'special'/unseen cases.
Aria the Origination
Batman: Gotham Knight
Detroit Metal City
Kaiba
Kannagi + special* (Heard good things about it.)
Kure-nai* (Haven't seen it.)
Michiko to Hatchin
Natsume Yuujinchou + sequel* (Heard good things about it)
Nodame Cantabile Paris Chapter
Soul Eater* (Has excellent animation and many consider the first-half a tounge-in-cheek parody of most shounen anime; however, the second half is a disappointment.)
spice & Wolf
Xam'd: Lost Memories
xxxHolic Kei + OVAs* (Haven't seen it.)
Casshern SINS
2009:
Bakemonogatari* (VERY hit or miss. The series is somewhat infamous for having large amounts of stock footage - in the form of colored placement cards - and mindless banter.)
Canaan
Eden of the East
Guin Saga* (Haven't progressed beyond the first few episodes; however, Nobuo Uematsu composed the soundtrack. You can watch it solely for that reason.)
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei* (If you liked the original series.)
Sengoku Basara* (Also hit or miss. It's a ridiculous take on feudal wartime Japan.)
K-On!* (If you're a fan of moe, go for it.)
Shakugan no Shana* (Heard good things about it.)
Tokyo Magnitude 8.0* (Heard good things about it.)

But now I'm watching the original Macross (subbed) and really digging it, so look for me to be active on this site once more. :D
