Well that was interesting.

Nice episode. I'm glad they actually touch upon on some more of the back story of Nio and everyone since she is important to the story. People who wanted action last week got their wish but I had to laugh at how it follows the game since alchemy items are just so powerful that there is no point in just fighting normally. xD Looks like the girl finally awoken hopefully they can keep the pace up since things will finally start getting interesting.

It was a good episode.

That's Alchemic Lifeform battle scene was average. Linca and the others came to the rescue.

I wonder who was that mysterious lolicon girl was.

Looks like this is my hype show for the season. Mushishi? JoJo? Ping Pong? Captain Earth? No Game No Life?

They all got nothing on the good stuff that is Escha & Logy! And for Gochuumon being the cutest show of Spring? Heh, not on my watch!

Unless it's a fetch quest, everyone knows there's a boss battle when you get to your objective. Logy is a noob! Blunt attacks for armored enemies oi! :p

What's magic? Escha was like "oh I have this little thing when I have to fight."

I am seriously loving this anime even more. It is just so relaxing and fulfilling seeing the characters solve the problem. It just has this certain charm to it that I cannot get enough.

And... hahaha, the product of alchemy can only be destroyed by alchemy... which is that candle-on-a-durian-like bomb.

Also, looks like that girl in the ED has finally made appearance, which is probably the girl Nio hears. Can't wait to see more of this show.

Nice ep. The action actually wasn't bad at all :D

Lol'd so much at how strong Escha's bomb was hahaha

And seems like the girl in the ED has waken up. Wonder who she is and what role she'll play.

Oh yes, Refyer's finally been introduced, along with Threia and Harry.

Wilbell leading the way with pumpkin blast. The build up to pumpkin blast gave me a good giggle, she'll likely be the most interesting character when it comes to battles, hopefully they can also get Reyfer in on some more action as well.

As for logy, there's always next time for redemption after that weak attempt! Lol

Escha really is a nice girl that wants to people no matter what.
Their dungeon raid was a total success and they managed to clear the debris that was blocking the water from coming out.
Overall a cute episode.

The most epic equips are almost always used last.

Wonder who was that girl at the end. And is she the one on that tablet?

All of them have a hard time fighting it, but Escha just took it out with a single bomb. It looks like half a durian fruit with an m80 in it...lol

The mix of lighthearted, rpg style action, and slow pacing, makes this show easy to the eyes.

It's early but Escha and Logy should get married already. They're a cute looking couple.

Escha is pretty reckless, going into those ruins completely unprepared. It's as Logy said, the water they cleaned should last for quite a while, so there was no reason for them to personally find and fix the problem inside the ruins. Reporting the situation back and then sending specialized personel there would've been the much better option.

Then there's the thing with Nio's elder sister. While she may have not meant harm, because of her recklessness she caused the collapsing of some major ruins even though they were off-limits. If she had been sorry for what she did she should've turned herself in, yet she is on the run. And it seems that our protagonists, Logy and Escha, would just let her escape if they were to meet her.

Just how did those two irresponsible people become government officials?
That's anime logic for you..

Despite that, I still really dig the fantasy adventure kinda atmosphere.

Better than the first two episodes. Despite how I enjoyed the atmosphere, the first two were a little too slow for my taste.
Here, we get a little action, meet a couple more characters, and there's a little hint of the underlying plot starting to move forward. Also, DAT DURIAN BOMB.

Another enjoyable episode and it seems the character met till now are here to stay, i even have a feeling we will be seeing those two treasure hunters again.
The magical girl was stronger then expected when it mattered.
And i wonder if we will be seeing the sister of Nio at some point considering what she has done.
Maybe that's the person they where referring to when they made the comparisons with Escha.

This is supposed to be my calm, relaxing, slow show of the week, and yet this week's episode seemed like it ended so quickly. Must have been because they finally had a real action sequence.

Ha, Linca the girl with the BFS is scared of heights.

I guess the girl Nio is hearing is the one that showed up at the very end. Well, whoops, cause she told you not to wake her up and she's clearly up now.

Is the OST straight from the game? It sounds very much like JRPG game music.

In this episode of MMORPG the anime, the two lvl 20 friends find a group and go to a Hard Difficulty dungeon and beat the boss, thus restoring the water flow and earning EXP from the finished quest.

Seriously, am I the only one who thinks that this is an anime about an MMORPG game. xD

All these posts about the show being boring and how they're dropping this show is making me chuckle, I can never understand why people don't understand in general videogame adaptions are just fanservice. It's simply nice seeing the cast from Ayesha and mentions and nods about what occurred and gameplay aspects(willbell being a fully fledged witch, escha's bomb, in 2nd ep escha mentioning warp gate/flying carpet, etc.) of the series here and there.

Watching this makes me wish that more J-RPG are being animated. Ar Tonelico got one crappy OVA even though it has such a great story and possibly, the greatest OSTs in any J-RPG ever.

Are you sure you've played J-RPG before? this kind of thing is common in Atelier games. There's always some enemies or bosses that can't be harmed by physical attacks and can only be killed by alchemy items. Obviously this anime simplified the fight but try to imagine it as a J-RPG game and it makes sense.

No. I also don't think we are going to get an OVA with a drunk Escha and team running around playing paint ball and being absolutely awesome.

While the MC in Soro no Oto was quite cute, she didn't nearly have the cuteness factor of this show. Also thought that the worldview in Soro no Oto was more interesting. Would have loved to have had that developed a little bit more.

I'm really trying to like this series, I'm trying really hard. This episode was decent, and wasn't difficult to be content with. But, content won't cut it forever.

The over the top attempts at making Escha the cutest of all cute is giving me diabetes.

Logy makes about as much sense as a baseball-puck.

Nio and Wilbell are the closest thing we have to redeemable qualities when it comes to the character line-up. But, Nio is basically saying the same stuff over and over and it's going to get old really fast. Wilbell is mildly entertaining to watch because of the way she acts like she's so hardcore because of her magic.

The boss fight at the end of the dungeon crawl. If you didn't see that, or Escha being the one to end it with some silly alchemy thing after none of the others attacks worked, well, you're probably kind of blind. I knew the fight would happen, and that Escha would be the one to end it, as soon as they entered the "center" room.

Although, as I said, I was content with this episode. The action was decent, and it did have some nice plot development. But, other than the action, it was rather boring.

I digress... I'm trying really hard to like this series, and I don't want to drop it, but it's on the verge of drop canyon and is tilting, ready to fall.

I'll give this one 5/10

Yeah I can't say this is the most exciting show ever, and it feels likes I'm watching a game, as it should though. Still, there are parts that I enjoy and I really like the bgm, as well as the art and backgrounds. I wonder if we'll get to find out what Logy's old wound is from? Idk if it was just me, but it seemed like his old wound is grayish...

Wow, you're good. I didn't see anything there, save for torn out cloth, and wondered if Escha liked his jacket that much to care. ... Scratch that, Escha had to care because this way she can stack more points in her Cute passive.
Seriously though, throw Escha out and give more screentime to other characters. Preferably Marion. And Linca. And Ara-Ara Clone. And Logy, because poor guy shows up in the very title of this show and for now functions as Escha's yes-man exclusively.

As someone who played the game, the anime is taking a different direction(which I don't mind). Some notable changes if anyone's interested:

    >Escha and Logy went to a marsh area where the source of water is.
    >The boss wasn't the Guardian, it was the Behemoth lion thingy.
    >Wilbell and Nio doesn't tag along.
    >They merged the Southern Ruins event onto this episode.
    >The village was ultimately abandoned.

I love how the anime actually acknowledges the previous game, Wilbell noticing Harry and Linca and Risengang being mentioned. Nio explaining Ayesha's situation to Escha&Logy, though I was surprised they didn't mention
I also feel they are advancing the plot a bit too fast in 3 episode. You don't get to know about the 'Nio's voice hearing' till near the end of the game but oh well.

Also to anyone that has played the game, does 'Kuu' at the end of the episode resemble

I like the slow development of the story, hinting at much bigger things and keeping me intrigued to want to see where this leads. And great world building. I really want to find out more about Nio and Wilbell. Why does Nio hear crazy-colored-hair girl? Why is it so important that Wilbell being a witch be kept secret? How does Wilbell know Ryuuko Mat--I mean Linca? And about Linca, is she Logy's relative or something? In the world of anime, there's no way it's coincidence that her hair and eye color are the same as Logy's.

The soft, haunting ED is my favorite this season, too.

I'm enjoying this. I'm starting to realize how IN Depth this anime is to the Atelier Ayesha games. Nia is the sister of Ayesha. Which means Ayesha is the one on the run from the government. I also like how they are introducing the characters in and all of them have a fond memory of Ayesha.

I'm sitting on the Escha&Logy game right now. Already beat Ayesha and this makes me want to play it all the more. curse you back logs.....

Yes, you are.

Episode 3 was pretty cool, as in the Ayesha game, the world is interesting and the art is very, very pretty. Loved the fight with the automaton and how it focused on Wilbell and Escha's alchemy items. That was very nice.
