For a Japanese guy, he did a pretty job at faking a Westerner accent while speaking Japanese... I suppose no one suspected him when he spoke with perfect grammar and such since they thought he was some emissary sent by God and just naturally able to speak all languages perfectly?

Enjoyable episode. Expected that the Sunflower Samurai was Fuu's dad, of course. XD Wouldn't have expected that he was mixed up in the Christian religion though! Interesting twist~

Awesome episode. Didn't expect to hear so much about the samurai who smells of sunflowers, considering they sort of manage to get off track ^_^' Not that, that's a bad thing of course. xD

Finaly we got some more clues of the sunflower samurai. I would never have guessed there was a cross hidden in that skull.

I knew it, the sunflower samurai was her father - well it's been 19th episode and just this time she told them who he was it's not something out of the blue but someone who's dear to her. But either way, I don't find the plot to be the real one, it's more on Mugen and Jin

I hate the way they use that stupid accent when they're pretending to be westerners speaking Japanese. Fairly pointless episode again, this anime hasn't really lived up to expectations so far.

Awww. I thought it was hilarious! Like when Jiraiya's seiyuu did the gay dutch guy a few episodes back! And if you've every seen Ika Musume, the three MIT scientists have the same accent going on, and it 's so funny!

Well, nice episode, and they finally got round to confirming the connection between the sunflower samurai and Fuu. Well, this series is more about eating while traveling then it is about any one overriding plot. It's not Cowboy Beebop where the emphasis is the other way round!

Great episode even though I knew the sunflower samurai was Fuu's father. Serves the fake priest right. Would have been ironic justice if he was crushed by the cross.

Well, it didn't really come as a surprise that the samurai is Fuu's father. They could have revealed it earlier and quit beating around the bush when it was fairly clear.

I knew it that the samurai they're looking after was Fuu's dad! Just knew it!

The episode it self was quite interesting that being with the influence of Christianity and weapon trades...

Maybe they've got a lead now lets see where their path will lead next!

Damn this is the first time that there is actual plot progression in this anime! I don't count the advise given by the dutchmen because he didn't actually know anything about the sunflower samurai.

Symbolic episode.

Once again the trio's involvement was great, especially Fuu.

Also the Sunflower Samurai is officially confirmed as Fuu's dad, really looking forward to the real plot episodes/climax (though I still absolutely love how it's been up to now).

Very allegorical episode.

Referenced religious persecution particularly against Christians and how religion can be manipulated to control people.

The face of the fraud guy reminded me of another anime but couldn't remember the name.

It is probably because you didn't get the obvious information about the location of the hidden christians and that those who had such skulls were one of those people.

I feel like it was unsurprising to many of us that it turned out to be her father she is looking for, but at least we finally officially got a clue for the main plot.
Well this wasn't as good as last episode, just another fellow thinking he has power and such but cowers when has lost it. .
by the way, would you call that suicide? It wasn't intentional of him. . I don't know.

I laughed so hard when he said that heaven is full and you need the weapon as a visa to travel to heaven.
As a religious person who believes in heaven this completely cracked me up XD

It seems obvious now that I know the samurai is Fuu's father, however I didn't guess it before.

I don't understand why people thought this was pointless. We learned so much about the samurai that smells of sunflowers plus this entire episode was full of historical context, this all actually happened back in the Edo period.

The fake priest was very funny, even his face was fake lol

They gave some clues before so I suspected the sunflower samurai was her father.

Also I like how they were building those tanegashima blunderbusses and selling them on the black market, considering that they were kind of antiquated at that time.

Also, glad they finally found someone who knew the samurai they're looking for.
