| Just saw this new stuff RAW. Pretty nice! Supernatural powers mixed with protecting a town from a demon invasion. A organization of whom I understood as being the Sakura Inn. One of the members that is a girl referred to as hime, has a butler but she is also a Youkai=demon or evil spirit. SCREW THE GUY with the guns cause he thinks he can anything but really he is shit that abuses and uses humans and maybe even other Youkais as it was shown with the girl at the end that he took control to aim for Akina. BTW Akina is not normal, he can exorcise the Youkai from the possessed body but I want to know WHY IS THE POSSESSED PERSON DEAD??? Normaly the soul and body should be fine. I like Ao mind reading but to me it looked more like tapping into all living and electronic things to borrow their powers to see or for a purpose of intelligent value such as scouting or getting information. Kotoha has materialization where one can summon indeed anything with words to materialize kind of the weapons in the anime My-Hime. Hime has amazing deflection powers, anti-gravitation properties and SPEAR HANDLING skills. AMAZING and I'll leave at that until subs get picketed up. HIGHLIGHTS: Super Power of Ao  One of super powers of Hime. Super deflection of projectiles with hand swipe!  Super Power Kotoha------>FAVORITE: MATERIALIZATION  Akina's super power....EXORCISM!  |

There is no way strength alone can have such power. It siply using air as a deflection tool but just strength cannot do that so YOU ARE WRONG. I do not find the animation STATIC! Perhaps it is not better than Rosario Vampire but IT IS CERTAINLY NOT BAD. |

| So I’ve been pretty excited about Yozakura Quartet because it’s being directed by Matsuo Kou (Kure-nai, Red Garde) I’ve heard the manga is really average, though, and it’s also not like Kou is writing the script for this one as he did in Kure-nai and Red garden which was one of their best aspects, so I set my expectations to mid-level. So far, this show is most likely to be like the other show Kou directed with this studio, Rozen Maiden - the show is fairly normal so far but there may be random spurts of creativity thrown in. Overall, I’d say the first episode was pretty average with certain really great qualities about it that will keep me watching. Getting the negative out of the way first, the plot and dialog seem to be wholly average - it’s a monster-of-the-week monster detective agency deal and while there were no subs to support this statement, none of the characters seemed particularly interesting (in the slightest.) As for the dialog, well it says a lot that I could understand most of it just because I’ve heard the lines in anime so many times XD The whole ‘you are demons, why are you hunting other demons?!’ thing seems to be going on here, too. That didn’t bother me half as much, though, as the GODAWFUL character artwork. I guess it’s trying to be true to the manga or whatever but oh my god, some of the most generally ugly faces I’ve come across in a while and pretty unimaginative designs overall. The blue haired girl wears the ugliest fucking outfit…. Anyway, onto the good, and some of it is quite good. In spite of the character artwork, the background artwork is pretty decent if generic. Best thing about this so far is the soundtrack. They chose a lot of rock music for the background which almost sounds reminiscent of Lain’s music however there’s a problem here - the music doesn’t seem to fit the situation sometimes. Rock music and sitting while conversing just don’t go together great and there wasn’t enough visual style to accompany the stylish music. I’d say if the show turns out to suck, at least I’ll probably pick up the soundtrack. the other good was one of the characters, a girl who wears boots and has a charming onee-san voice. We first see her badassery when she catches a stack of books from falling off the table with her boot effortlessly, however she really comes into awesomeness during the fight. After freezing a city block along with the bad guy’s guns, she sticks out her tongue which buzzes with electricity and then summons a bunch of floating machine guns and starts yelling “DADADADADADADADADA!” as the guns fire. The moment brought a smile to my face and makes me hope for more moments with her like this. There was also some badassery when the guitar girl was deflecting bullets with her hands. In spite of those moments, though, the fight was really boring because it mostly involved three good guys standing around while one of them made the enemy look like a total pussy until it was the next main character’s turn to attack. Hopefully future villains will be a little more threatening. Overall, not bad, but not something I’m rushing to keep up with. Definitely puts things into perspective of making Shikabane-hime look that much more awesome. |

| I didn't like this so much. I'll check the next episode, but I think I will not watch it until the end. It reminds me of Rental Magica a bit too much. |

| Pros: - Art was nice. - Characters seem likable. - VA's are excellent. - BGM is very stylish. - ROUND TABLE ED song. Con - Animation needs more fluidity. - Need widescreen. - Need default subs instead of speed (don't mind those though.) Overall it's cool. |

| I liked the eyecatchers, and the designs, but the episode itself was nothing really impressive. It was still overall entertaining though. |
| i hate it when they overtly reveal the villian so early and in such a away. even with that, the show seems ok..not too great but seeing as it is short, worht watching. |

| that was rather meh. The "Maschienen Pistolen - dadada~" part made me think 'come on your no grade schooler.. I hope'. Also very funny how the bullets flew to him - not. Looked like some grown up version of Zettai Karen Children, without the good humor to me. Maybe some episodes more but probably will drop this soon. |

| i was actually looking forward to this one, i think i missed by just a little. in spite of my great expectations being destroyed, i found it pretty ok. the animation was pretty crappy (probably due to the RAW the sub used... which i am not too fond of... it kept showing me random things spurting out of places when the bitrate was higher... damn it, and here i thought the RAW would be smooth just because the resolution was high. anyways. the comedic parts amused me a little (but.... but what?.... but its already past three minutes...) was probably the part that made me smile the most. the OP is catchy, and yay for savage genious doing the OP. it reminded me of several things that i cannot remember now. but i liked it zettai ryouiki FTW (one of the reasons i watch this) the main female (still not in the names yet) with zettai ryouiki was nice, and well drawn (from my perspective) i like her character. not too serious, not too loose.... mayor xD i liked how we were given background stuff already... the art was rather nice, i like the character design a lot. the story seems rather ok. so far, i do not dislike it. when the girl with the guns went "da da da da da da da da", i couldn't help but smile... now... Akina's power seems interesting, i am guessing he is the ONLY person who can exorcise the youkai...but i guess that's all... though, i like his personality a little. i also liked the ED. Makina (i believe it was) was cute. now... i will give this a couple more episodes, and even wait for a better fansub... i just hope that if someone else picks it up, it uses a better raw... |

| Am I the only one that found the show interesting? I cant say I hated it or loved it but it was definitely interesting to see. I loved the slow-mo bullet shots and the character designs. The story sounds good but I find the bad guy (in blue hair with car ears) to look to much like a girl and less evil. I think thats my only gripe with the show so far. |

| The synopis was highly deceiving... I wasn't even going to watch this till I saw Ono Daisuke is in it... it was actually quite cool. I liked the special powers and the design, it's nice to see strong chicks for a change. not the most amazing thing ever but I enjoyed it. will keep watching for now. |

| I was interested in this for a couple of weeks now. Never read the manga. So far I think it's pretty good, and the characters are likable. The scene with Kotoha sticking her tongue out was weird though. |

| This is definitely on my list to watch for this season. It's quirky and original... the animation, randomness and style kind of reminds me of FLCL. It was a bit strange at first since they drop you right into the middle of the action without any explanation at all about who the characters are, etc., but I don't think that is a big enough reason not to give the show a chance. With so many run-of-the-mill, cliched animes this season (Rosario to Vampire2, Vampire Knight, Toradora, Ef), this is a nice change of pace. |
