I dropped the manga in favour of the anime though, unless the studio turns out to be terrible. Hoping for anything other than J.C.Staff or Deen.
As for the my season, from your list I think we're watching almost completely different shows ^^ I'm currently watching (although I haven't listed most of them yet) Maria Holic, Tiger & Bunny, Ano Hana, Hanasaku Iroha, Nichijou, A-Channel, Kaiji 2, Deadman Wonderland, Sengoku Otome and Denpa Onna. I put Astarotte and Steins;Gate down as maybes (depending on final scores and/or BD batches) and I will wait for batches of Hen Zemi and Azazel, maybe.
I watched the first few episodes of practically everything though, so here are some opinions (warning, long):
I watched some other shows but they aren't really worth any comments. All in all, excellent season. Too bad it looks like the summer season is going to be terrible...
Kore wa Zombie desu ka was getting a bit on my nerves around the 4th episode but then they changed things around, same with Level E around its 2nd or 3rd episode. Lots of twists and turns this season...
Hourou Musuko is a masterpiece, its low score on MAL is really weird; I assume it's because it doesn't have action or boobs or something. I know you're reading the manga so it's nothing new to you but the production values and basically everything about it is excellent, hands down the best show of the season, despite Madoka and QB. In a word, it's magical.
I still haven't started Fractale but I'm almost caught up now, wooh!
I'm going to try and catch up over the weekend but who knows how that will go. Good thing all of them are short and all of them are quite watchable so it should be a simple matter.
I watched the first 3 episodes of Gosick and while I liked what I saw, 24 episodes sounds like too much. I expect it to be full of arcs similar to the one in episode 2-3 with a bit of character development on the side.
Yumekui Merry managed to make me ragequit after half an episode. I'm not entirely sure what it was, but I intensely disliked it almost from the start. I didn't even know it was JC Staff when I started it but the OP tipped me off, since it was basically a c/p from an Index OP. You may call JC Staff quality but imho they're the masters of making generic shitty shounen anime à la Index. Still, Milky Holmes and Railgun were decent, so maybe they just have to have all female casts to not suck.
As for abused males, I can't say that sounds appealing. But as I said, the lack of a conclusion weighs heavier. I suppose the goal of the anime was to promote the light novels; mission accomplished except I'll probably never be able to read them :)
Infinite Stratos is surprisingly good, although I suppose my expectations weren't very high. Iit's a generic harem/mecha anime executed right (as of episode 5).
I'm still undecided on whether or not I should watch LOLH, it sounds very cool and I liked the first couple of episodes but I despite anime that lack a proper ending and will likely never get finished, which is very likely in LOLH's case due to poor DVD/BD sales. I can only hope it'll get some kind of continuation some time in the future...
Also, heeeey ya.
For instance, how many differences will there be between the popular system vs. one where English titles take precedence over Japanese ones? I think it will mostly affect the newer titles and entries where the current main title is a fan-translation. And for both of those cases, people should be able to easily adapt.
As you said, it might make a few more people a bit happier but for the amount of effort required, I'd consider it a waste of time. Besides, our main goal was always to reduce ambiguity, since we felt that MAL has had enough of that in the past.
Maybe Xinil will implement the changes in such a way that we can easily make this happen; I would certainly not be opposed to that, but I won't exactly be busting my balls over it either.
I thought that looked Touhou-ish, but I didn't realise there were zombie touhou ^^
