THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
An attractive heroine appears and Lupin struggles to help her like a knight. However she is an unruly girl at first, gradually understands the truth. Combining episode 10 "Hunt Down the Counterfeiter!" and this episode almost makes the framework of the movie "Lupin III - the Castle of Cagliostro".

Lol that was a back hand too.

I mentioned this before, but the whole revealing of his father's background is pretty interesting. Appropriate considering that the first series is drawing to a close. Lupin was really cool in this one. It shows that he isn't always a pervert when dealing with the ladies. Though, I am sure this isn't the first time he shown this side of himself.

Pretty good episode and over the top as usual. I mean, a train gets knocked off the rails, goes through a forest, and gets back on the tracks. It is pretty "absurd" as Zenigata would say. I'm glad I'm not the only one to notice. Love it!

I thought it was Fujiko at first, but Lupin was pretty noble this episode.

Shooting a tree at a helicopter. Only in Lupin III.

This may have been my favorite so far. Rie had an actually character arc while Lupin himself was in top-form, and the absurd antics with both the train and the SHOOTING A TREE THROUGH A HELICOPTER were among my favorites so far. That helicopter part at least is always going to stick with me.

That was next level trap, shoot down a helicopter with a tree catapult
I guess because of that tree he got out from the "stick"y situation xD

Awww that was so romantic
Running away under the moonlight.. oh wait :P

That girl Rie looked a lot like Fujiko, and she was hard to deal with at first. But I guess she was just sticking close to her values, and she wasn't really wrong in judging a thief and in trusting her uncle over Lupin. After all, she had no way to know that her own uncle was trying to use her to make her father comply.

But it was a nice episode. Lupin did the best he could to safeguard the secret of his father's partner, but I'm glad that she found out the truth in the end. Now there are no more lies or walls between her and her father.

Lupin's car went through a lot this episode with all the swerving and tumbling. But not as much as that steam engine.

Lupin really was a nice man this episode. Even that talk to Rie about how her father has changed felt emotional. We really could get used to more personal episodes like this.

An episode that gives us a vision of Lupin's past, so we finally discover something about him, and in the meantime we don't get bored at all, thanks to a daring and action-packed narrative. For that matter, this anime has never been bored in any episode, fabulous! Also this time the character of Lupin does not betray his nature as a gentleman.
