THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
*Aired 30 mins. late.

Starting out with them talking about Mahou shoujo and mahou danshi while playing basketball.

Seinaru Yoru... Christmas season, but there's a girl who's in devil mode. The megane guy hurt her feeling unintentionally, so she's attacking three of them. She is in the street with Christmas mode and being embarrassed.

Shingakki... friends talking about new year "hatsumoude", which they "normally" don't go, and talk about what they did. Wow!! Okamoto-san's character finally appears(?)!! Then the teacher came and said the sheet she handed out before the break was wrong and the school starts the next day!!

Imouto no Nayami... Sister came to ask for help because she refused the guy's confession. Student council people refused and told her to face him herself. Turns out he apologized her for hitting her. lol~~ everyone except Tadakuni were checking up on her!!

Ringo-chan no Nayami... Ringo-chan also came, too! Her friend said she's short. She doesn't believe in their comments about "normal" and was going to ask student council leader but they tried stopping her. Wow, he said she's wonderful and got hit. Ringo-chan is embarrassed, though.

Motoharu no Nayami... More people asking for worries, but they let her write on the form. To search for dogs?? Namikawa-san's character blamed on the hat guy for always helping people. Another guy accidentally got the dog back. lol~ getting money as a solution??

Hissatsu Shoot... Okamoto-san's character practicing shoots. And he's frustrated for the ball being caught. Rugby's regular instead??

Joshikoukousei wa Ijou Kako... The past of the girl who was calm comparing to other two was revealed by "Takahiro" (Morikubo-san?). He was bullied by the short hair girl, who was famous for bullying people.

This episode was totally hilarious for me. Really got me laughing almost throughout the episode. From the first skit where the main trio were playing volleyball soon degenerated into calling Harry Potter a perverted otaku who wears panties on his head in his room, up till the high school girls are funky skit where we learn of Habara's dark past, laughs were aplenty from start to finish.

The highlights for me had to be when Ringo-chan showed her dere side after the student council prez gave a suave answer to her question about her height, and Mitsuo's and Hidenori's epic penalty shootout practice.
Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to give out death in judgement. For even the very wise cannot see all ends.

The Potter joke, The soccer scene and the High School Girls scene were the only good things in this episode. The guy offering money at first was hilarious xD Oh but poor Habara ; _ ;

And did I just hear Kotono Mitsuishi as the teacher <3

I feel that the humour is starting to lose it's effectiveness since it's quite obvious when a joke or skit's punchline is coming. That being said there were still some hilarious moments in this episode like mahou shounen Potter, the girl with the dog and Ringo and the cat noises. The moments I found the funniest were those that were just completely unexpected. And of course the fourth-wall breaking at the end: "We know it's Valentines day but please don't send chocolate to the characters".

We need a magical boy series with Harry as the main character. I would so watch that even more so if they make him wear frilly dresses with laces and pink desu~

I think that girl was a little bit too excited to get her dog back. O_O

Somehow...each episode gets more and more boring. The only funny sequence was the "chain of stalkers" behind Tadakuni's little sister.

Btw, am I the only one who thinks that this series has misogynic tendencies? I have yet to see a single normal girl in this series. They're either depicted as crazy beasts or pathetic losers without boyfriends. And it's getting more apparent the more the series focuses on the girls.

I guess when you are used to watch in many series the guys always being pathetic and over-horny, looking for girlfriends while getting laughed as losers and rejected or being hit and called perverts while girls always seem too awesome and sexy for them, when you actually see a series where both are equals in their stupidity it seems like the girls aren't treated good enough.

Um, no. They rip on the boys and girls equally, It's all for the jokes. And It's nice for a change that an anime ridicules women as well.

I actually really love the way the girls are portrayed. At first it did grate me a bit, but compared to every other anime in existence where the girls are either oversexualized or useless, defenseless weaklings which rely on men, I think this take on girls is refreshing and fun. As a violent woman myself, I love other violent, strong-willed women. And I think there's a good balance of many different kinds of non-typical female anime characters in this, I'm tired of the contrived average anime girl. Girls come in an infinite variety, and most of them are more like the girls in this anime than those in other anime. Of course none of the female characters are portrayed as some sort of "ideal" or even "normal" girl (because there's no such thing) but neither are any of the boys. Sometimes I do agree that the female characters are more eccentric than many of their male counterparts, but overall, I think the anime is quite fair with its gender portrayal and tends not to stereotype by gender (though it makes fun of many many stereotypes)

Literature Girl is neither a "crazy beast" nor a "pathetic loser" (although she most probably doesn't have a boyfriend). So your argument is invalid.

Motoharu: You need to learn to say "No!". Swear you won't help people any more, got it?
Karasawa: No!

I lol'd, Karasawa was hilarious this ep especially when he made a compromise with Motoharu by making people pay for there help. It felt a bit too serious in the beginning, but the one with the teacher trolling the guys was hilarious. I had a feeling Ringo was going to smack the president again.

That girl from Motoharu's skit: she sounds and looks just like Yasuna from Kill Me Baby, i honestly hope Sunrise should keep making lots of hints to other shows like the odd jobs one (Gintama).

I laughed at:
--Ringo-chan's troubles
--Motoharu's troubles
--New Semester (lol teacher is a troll)

Shoot, i'll just start blogging this one. It's just so funny to watch!

You've got a point there, it's good that Danshi Koukousei chooses a different approach on how to depict girls compared to all the moe or fanservice shows. I actually like the boys a lot because although they might act like idiots, they're still honourable and funny like the student council trio. And I think it'd be nice if the girl characters had a fraction of that depth, too. My problem is that the female characters are almost all the same. I wouldn't mind one or two strong females with a foul mouth (I usually like that character archetype), but this series has far too many of them (faceless sisters + faceless friends + faceless laughing dog girl + the two from the "HS girls are funky" sequence). Some of them might seem strong (blonde guy's sister), but they still bother when people point out their lack of boyfriends and turn into beasts - so it's just physical strength instead of inner strength. The only girls who seem to have distinct personalities are Tadakuni's coworker and the literature girl. But the literature girl hardly talks so that leaves the coworker as the only cool and likeable female character.

What bother me with the girl characters so far is that they are all easily manipulated or angered by the boys (Like Ringo in the cat part). Only the coworker can keep up with them in that area. The fact that the guys are much more level-headed than the girls, makes them feel "helpless" to me, even though, most of the time, they can kick the boys in the ass. :p I agree that they feel "fresh" specially when compared to the average anime girl, and I don't think that girl characters must be perfect or anything like that. But, because all the girls are incredibly agressive, it seems that they are saying "all the girls are crazy". I preferred the first episodes because this was toned down a little. :/

While I know that this is a comedy series and the more serious skits feel out of place, for some reason I still enjoy watching them.

Every episode is relevant to someone for this series. But overall this series is good. It's not giving us ALL the funny parts in one go...because that's when you'll truely get bored. So just be patient
