| This is why people shouldn't hype about things or have high expectations. You'll most likely only be left with disappointment in the end. As for me, I just stuck it on my list and forgot all about it until I saw it uploaded today. No looking forward to it at all, maybe because I knew nothing about the characters or anything but you know what? I absolutely loved it! I really hope there will be more, be it a TV series or more OVAs. :) Also, I actually enjoyed the slice of life scenes more than the action scenes.. |

| I actually really liked the themes in this. The whole thing about best friends distancing after being put into separate classes. I'm sure most of us have experienced something like that at least once. The art style was also pretty good. If only they made this into a longer movie and included the part on the same thing happening to Yuu (that's what it implies at the end). This wasn't done properly, but it has a ton of potential. |

| The ending screams out another ova. i liked it. maybe i am too biased on me liking huke, and the concept of this story, and maybe i am a suck for anime like this, so i truly enjoyed it, and well. i would like to see another one. yes, i had hype on this, yes, it was satisfactory for me. but then again, the only bad thing about it is that everything was just one episode (or two from a tv series standpoint), so i was just kinda expecting a lot more to come out. then again, we may have another one explaining the whole gold saw and juu thing. |

| so the main character was trying to save her friend because her friend was jealous of her spending a lot of time with the basketball manager? Lol wow. So much expectations for this and it completely flopped. No wonder it turned into a one episode thing. |

| The trailer at first looked so beautiful, and the beginning grabbed my attention very quickly. But then we start some boring plot, where two girls become friends. The next year they aren't in the same class anymore, they grow apart, blahblahblah. Really in my opinion, Yomi was being a bit of a selfish bitch, by getting that upset over her just COMMUNICATING with another girl. The whole plot was blown way outta proportion. And the snipets of fighting scenes with Dead Master & Black Rock Shooter, were great. But there really wasn't much of them, or most were not that long. Oh lord, so now it looks like Yuu is going to go and have a crying fit over NOTHING just like Yomi. I was so disappointed, it was okay. It was not great, it was not bad, it was, OKAY. If there ever IS to be a sequel, it better not be a crap like this. |

| so it was pretty good (not up to expectations good, but lol i had already expected that >_<) but must say im annoyed at the lack of the BRS song in it... i mean come on without the song this wouldn't have happened they could have at last used it in the credits if they weren't gonna use it for a battle (like they should've) |

| I am not sure I get it, but it seems like she was fighting the darkness in her best friend's heart which must be jealousy and I don't think this is over yet. |

| Time for a copypasta of thoughts! Music was good, though not extremely memorable. I could hear snippets of the original BRS song in the background, but it didn't feature extensively (why? ;~;). There really should have been more dialogue or even some narration to explain the story. I can see that a good amount of the budget was for the other world scene, but it was really nonsensical, even non-sequitur to the plot they're trying to convey. This wasn't so much about Black Rock Shooter as much as it was a Shinkai-esque slice-of-life (though Shinkai's works provides better visuals and story-telling). There's not much left to tell to the story, but there are still a bit of things that could be explained further. I'm not holding my breathe for a full series, though. |

| Unbelievable... It seems that talking about anime BEFORE you actually see them is really bad. From what iv seen and heard i had no expectations at all. When i started watching this i had no motivation like I'm gonna do some kind of chore. Well i really, REALLY enjoyed it. Animation and music were top notch. At least no one can deny that. Story... Well there was no story but there was nice character interaction and the displayed their feelings pretty good. Overall it had some holes like : Why BRS survived at start? Wasn't she slashed from Yomi-alter? What's up with the other personas? The other world? But i guess you need a proper mindset to watch this. The point of the anime wasn't the story that's for sure. But imo the character interaction/feelings and how they portrayed them was really awesome and kinda special. I'm 100% sure that if you people weren't that affected by the hype and watched this without having too much expectations you would like it more. But oh well. |

| It was alright; the music, art and all that shizz was great, but I didn't get what the hype was all about. I liked some parts of it, but the ending (before the credits) was just kind of weird. And, I didn't get why Black Rock Shooter didn't die in the beginning; it seemed like she was seriously injured by the girl she was fighting (forgot her name xp ) Overall, wasn't horrible, but not the best thing either. Just something to watch if you're bored, I guess. |

| Biggest let down this season Seriously its just some slice of life anime with minimal plot which has random action scences which arent even really related. 4/10 from me Just bad, I expected way more of this. |

And she reminds me a hell lot of Yui >.> Or if I think of her like Kana, I think it feels a bit better.. xD (She does look more like Kana than Yui after all) And she's getting way too emotional over a friend vanishing. Yomi > Mato So anyway, what did I just watch? I have no idea. Though it wasn't really that bad. Well, not awesome either I suppose. ED was terribly misplaced at least. (Not particularily bad though) Post-ED scene was stupid, incredibly stupid. And it kind of made me want to use an old wallpaper.. But it doesn't fit with the wall on the other monitor : | What to do ... Tl;dr Seriously, what? |

| Seriously wut the hell? It had a bunch of eyecandy that but damn... the plot itself is soo... STUPID. I mean it is cliched so much that they cliche the FREAKING CLICHE. Just wasted 50 minutes of my life. Oh well... at least the animation was pretty neat. :/ but then again.. what was I expecting out of this anyways? xD I had a feeling this was going to disappoint. |

| Well , considering the fact that i wasn't really expecting anything , this ova was quite enjoyable . The animation was nice , the cliche's weren't too annoying and the bgm was fitting . I'd say an 8/10 .. Might change later .. |

| I don't understand why people keep saying the two stories are unrelated. Ok, the very first scenes (two girls both with swords, I can't bother to look up for the names) seem unrelated, more like fanservice for the already present fanbase. But the two other stories that interlace through the OVA are joined in the end, either you take the allegorical interpretation or the reality interpretation. In the first one, there is a battle of will between Yomi and Mato, the first decides to be unneeded and wants to leave while the second struggles to get her back. In the second one, there are those avatar/beings/chicks/whatever from the other world that take you away to condemn you/nourish on your pain/save your friends/whatever fits, and the battle sequence represent the real battle happened in that other world to bring Yomi back. Either way, the final message is the same: friendship wins over jealousy and sadness. Cliché? I agree. Obvious from the beginning? You can bet. But I don't think the overall result was as bad as many say. |
| Considering I had zero expectations for this, I thought it was quite good. If you had low or no expectations from the beginning then you would have enjoyed it and be less disappointed |

| I was expecting too much for nothing. 6/10 only 'cause I like the character and the animation was good but God, I hate this OVA so much. When I see BRS I expect action and fights, not some girl being jealous over his best friend. "I need you to hug me!" and that's all. THAT'S ALL. Wtf was that? Where's the action? Why BRS is related to that? |

| You don't need high expectations to see that the slice of life conflict is already overused by many anime already. It's like they thought that adding Black Rock Shooter fighting was going to make it a masterpiece. |

| It was an average OVA, nothing special at all. The thing is, i really enjoyed the fight scenes, i just wished they were animated a bit smother (like DtB or Kara no Kyoukai). The music left much to be desired, but i felt the character designs looked great. Overall: 7/10 |

| Pretty incoherent storyline. I understand that there's only so much you can fit into an OVA but honestly, a proper storyline can be and has been done before within a span of 50 minutes or less. The shortness of this is really no excuse. I also disliked the art and some spots of the animation in the slice-of-life scenes. I know that that particular style is all the rage these days but I still don't like it. I like to see more details. The music was sub-par as well. Overall, I felt like I was watching some kind of K-ON Shagukan no Shana hybrid. I enjoyed parts of it though. I was surprised by the femslashy vibes I was getting from Mato/Yomi. Didn't expect that at all. Yomi's jealousy was a little over the top for a friendship and the way they act around each other...Idk maybe I'm reading to much into it but I thought it was there. The action sequences were also kind of fun to watch and Dead Master is sexy. I liked the interactions between the two girls. I was kind of expecting this to be crap and it sort of was. I still enjoyed parts of it well enough but it's not getting more than a 5/10 from me. |
