Pretty lame we didn't get to see the fight between DILF and Hwang /: I would've preferred that over Jinwoo looking at his stupid inventory.

I think this has also been extremely rushed like the previous season. The last fight was stupid.

What was the point of the swimming scene? I really don't mind fanservice, but why?

I can't believe they cut out the funny scene someone else pointed out ;-; Jinwoo seems too serious and stiff imo
@cooldogmom The fight is never shown in the webtoon, only the aftermath like it did in this episode.

If they did, it could spoil future plotlines as the character is pretty important.

What an Utter Trash Studio, Rushing it so hard that things make no sense now. The Thrill is Far gone and Everything is a mess. LoL.
Disappointing 😞😞😞
@AlterJin Honestly, what's confusing?

The 2nd season anime is literally one to one with the webtoon, they are not rushing or skipping anything.

One of the reasons the webtoon was so well liked and popular is that it always was a fast paced story that got to the point really quickly without taking too many detours.

@Elyshan You're right, it just felt a little unexpected on my end because of how slow the pacing of the first season and now with the second season, the pacing is the same as the webtoon/manwha.

So many comments are saying it's rushed and stuff but this is exactly how those scenes are played out in the webtoon, he's OP, so he melts through most enemies.

The second season is not rushed, it's not cutting anything but it's actually adding new scenes and dialogue to the story.

I'm annoyed because the first season was so fucking bad and there are ppl complaining about this season because they think it's rushed.
@JCDRANZER they have actually cut things. However a lot of it is one of two panels, a slice of dialogue here or there. And sure saying it like that makes it feel like it shouldn't really matter, but I feel like it does. For one it's changed the tone of the scenes at least in my perspective especially between Jinho and his dad, but also how casually Jinwoo is taking the floor fights with the silly shenanigans of his shadow soldiers.

More importantly though it comes down to pacing. Manhwa really focuses on a few select scenes to spend time on with more white space between them. When converting that to anime you really need more frames to convey the same thing as one panel of manhwa. Things like Jinwoo realizing he could use commanders touch to repel himself backwards had more weight in the manwha than it did in the anime because of the time spent on that scene.

Overall I don't think the anime is doing poorly but there is some changes and pacing that leaves it feeling just enough off for people to comment on it.

It was really good, some new characters, cool fights, some lore, etc. Although, I don't think that Solo Levelling should be rushed and lots of manga scenes have been cut so far, just to make the show look cooler/get to Jeju island..

Oh this is Jinwoo and Jinna's father back from the dead... I mean gate? And Hwang didn't stand a chance against him, the agents commenting how was fast he was defeated limited the landscape collateral damage. LOL

So this episode will be the weakest of this season and that’s saying something because it was still good. To summarise for people who don’t like to read much, my criticism for this: feels too rushed and fast paced.

They did remove the Baek talk about red gate incident with the news, but I suppose they removed it as it was done to lead to him to talk about jeju island which they covered in S1. So the people thinking they removed a lot, they cleverly put events in different order.

Now what they actually removed? Well after sung defeats vulcan/was fighting him as well, his army did help here and there, while also iron took his head off to deliver to jinwoo for comedic purposes. Do I dislike that? Not as much as the other thing I disliked the most about this episode.

When the preview came out and it was confirmed it will cover the whole demon castle part 1, I got anxious. Why? There’s dialogue or to be exact moments that should in theory be given time for the viewer/watcher/us to read and understand like the items he acquired and let’s say how Jinwoo would feel after gaining these items. These were removed… It’s like 2 panels at most from 5 chapters, it is impressive they covered all that in one episode without technically removing anything but it’s still bad because why would you do this, only for you to just make an exposition dump in the last 2 minutes about what Jinwoo took? Like it made the pacing feel soo off for anyone watching this.

Now does this worry me? Yes, because next episodes cover one of my favourite parts and it involves zero fighting. The interactions should be fire with the dialogue but if they have no patience for some you know giving time to the watcher to understand without telling them, I don’t know.

I still understand why the pacing is this way because they are literally covering two big fights this season, demon castle part 2 arc (I expect 3 episodes) and jeju island fight (I expect 4 episodes). But I would prefer them to add an extra episode and make it 14 to make the pacing better than sacrificing a full part/episode for it.

An extra fear I have, if it’s 5 chapters per episode then ironically I am afraid for the jeju island arc lol. They could actually do it in 2 episodes and make the other 2 the epilogue part of it which would actually make me pissed off more than anything.

Extra: I also had hope they would add scenes for the fight between Sung Ilhwan and Dong soo but I am disappointed to say nope, and they actually removed some interactions between them, when I looked it up. Like please don’t rush the dialogue again especially in the next episode
@Confused_100 fr, slow down but its already adapted so idk

@Unknown_Guy100 wouldn't expect much from the guy who literally has a Solo Leveling pfp

maybe look past your bias and accept the fact that this episode was rushed as fuck/poorly planned and the studio probably fit 250 pages of manga in it

the fanservice was also unnecessary

there's literally a massive contrast between ep2 and ep3 in terms of animation quality, direction, plot and details

Actually didn't expect much from S2 when I saw that they'll somehow cover 4 arcs in 12 episodes lol

Check your facts man....there are 13 episodes first thing....
And what are u even saying man....I have a solo leveling Dp so what?....you gave the dp of 86.....not much difference in rattings...And ya there are 4arcs being covered...so what....most of them are so small.....What significant scene they skipped in ep 3??... nothing much honestly....And i didn't say anything wrong in the previous post as well....most people will agree....
@Unknown_Guy100 I'm sorry but nobody will take you seriously when you write like 11 year old child (which you probably are)

Some people don't have standards, that's why isekais are so popular. It takes a level of intelligence to be able to like but also critisise something which you unfortunately lack.

S2 is very mid so far, they kept the midness up from the end of S1

Gotta feel bad for Jinho, I mean, poor dude's getting cucked by the shadow army on his last mission with Jinwoo xD That aside though, these two have really formed that brotherly bond in the short time they were together thanks to the raids as Jinho said. It's no suprise that he and his dad would want to get Jinwoo to join his guild.

But yeah, missed seeing best girl Haein, she's just as thick, I mean, beautiful as she was last season. Not but fr, I don't even remember that being in the manhwa... not complaining though( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Some weird cuts this episode ngl. I mean, the transitioning between the out of nowhere Haein thing, the whole thing going on with Dongsoo and... yes, Jinwoo's DAD JUST FUCKING THE DUDE AND HIS PLACE UP LMAOOOOO. About time he got dealt with.

But yeah, Jinwoo cleared that thing out like it was nothing, just one of the many thing's that'll show strong he's really gotten since last season.

When Jinwoo say, "In that case, from now on you're my younger brother." I cent it one of the best lines spoken.

I like the fact that they animated the gym and Hae-In in a one piece bathing suit. Usually anime only have bikinis which is boring. A real piece of bathing suit is more erotic. Wished for more gym parts as well, at least in other anime.
Like the fact that Jin-Woo was just chilling behind that undead. That was fun.

After raiding countless gates, and leveling up as much as possible, Sung Jinwoo finally decided to challenge that hellish dungeon to craft the Elixir of Life for his mother. He wiped the floors like it was nothing, managing to reach the 75th floor in just a week, which is insanely impressive. He’s already obtained 2 of the 3 items needed to craft the elixir. It seems like the hard part is over, but I’m sure the worst is yet to come...

On another note, Sung Jinwoo’s father, who went missing for 10 years, right when the gates first appeared, finally made his appearance, and wow, he didn’t disappoint. In an instant, he knocked out that S-rank bald guy, leaving him drenched in his own blood. What’s even more intriguing is how much he knows about the gates, dungeons, and magic beasts. He even mentioned that the world isn’t ready for the big disaster that’s coming. For someone as strong as him to say that, it’s truly terrifying. I can’t wait for him to meet his son and see everything Jinwoo has done for his family and just how much stronger he’s become.

I like it that he owned them easy, but show some nice animations and not only when he fights ultra strong enemy for no reason...

So Jinwoo's dad must be S++ that was insane. He made quick work of that S-rank hunter. Jinwoo has also become insanely stronger. Idk if he is S rank though. I think maybe high-A-Tier. When he said, "Do immortal monsters feel fear?" It gave me the same vibe when Batman said "Do you bleed?" Seeing his evolution is wonderful. I can't wait for him to save his mum.
I'm not shocked his dad is strong. Spending 10+ years in a dungeon meant he was fighting every day without fail and probably eating those monsters' flesh for nutrients. I am assuming that might have given him a boost in strength.
Genuinely wonder what horrors he saw in there going from dungeon to dungeon.
@The_Black_B3ast Without getting into spoilers, remember that once someone awakens as a hunter they can't get stronger through means like fighting or consumables. Food would've kept him going like any other human being, but wouldn't have any effect on boosting any stats or something like that

Hegar said:
I don't really like the shadow creatures being so intelligent that they can collect gems and offer them. They should be shadows of their former selves, only there to fight. That would also make it darker, which is fitting.

I kinda get what you mean, but is it really darker if they're just empty puppets, compared to actually retaining their personality and awareness while being enslaved and practically forced to obey?

Besides that, you will see later in the story why it's better this way. It's one of the things that made SL a bit more unique and loved.

Also can tell that scene with Hae-In coming out of the water in the slowest and most suggestive way possible (just for her to have a 30-second flashback lol) was 100% necessary for the plot.

@Leon888 I know you think the first season isn't slow.

To the naked eye, this season may seemed rushed but coming from someone that actual read the webtoon/manwha (whatever you want to call it), it just isn't, it's literally one to one with it.

Scenes that may seemed cut were never there in the first place plus Jinwoo's fight against Hwang was never shown either and that's mainly due to a later development in the story because if the fight was shown, it will pretty much reveal future spoilers.

To me this is the pace I want it at, the same pace as the original source material, adding fillers is fine but they were incredible distracting and pace-breaking in the first season. The first season was pretty dreadful to watch for me.
