Nah, Norn is actually annoying. Aisha, her half-sister, is much more considerate and sympathetic.

"HOW CAN YOU BE SO WEAK TO SAVE DAD!!" Like, shut up, girl. You weren't there to understand it. I would've slapped her if I was her sister. She's the one who asked her brother to go save him because if Rudeus refused, she would hate him even more. Stupid girl.

Just need to get a quick nitpick out of the way: I was hoping for just a little more significant of a reaction from characters when seeing a friend or family member they haven't seen for a long time. In more than one case here it's kind of just like them saying "hey what's up" to each other. I needed something like Aisha seeing her mother again after quite some time. She initially holds back because she believes it's not her time or place to show so much emotion, but she receives the go-ahead, and breaks out into tears. Now that was something. Also did Norn come into the room asking about Paul, but completing disregarding Zenith who was sitting right there, her mother, who all of them were trying to get all this time? Just thought that was a little odd. At least they cut to Rudeus having already explained everything. Anyway.

Other than that, yeah it was good. Definitely more interesting than Part 1 which I honestly don't remember too much of other than Rudeus having ED the whole time. Still didn't peak as hard as turning point 2 from the first season with their encounter with Orsted. THAT was some next-level sh*t. But this season was good too. Definitely very moving. The highlight of Part 2 here is its last 3 episodes, but honestly episode 5 low-key still remains my favourite of the season. Seeing Rudeus reach out to Norn as if he was reaching out to his former self, and seeing what his brother was trying to do for him all that time. I also like how her shutting herself in was not due something generic like bullying, but rather from probably self-depreciation as everyone compared her to her brother. Great kind of standalone episode, is another reason why this show is just so darn good.

This was beautiful. So much darkness and despair in the past couple episodes, but we end with a ray of hope. Rudy and Sylphie's child is born, Roxy will soon be a part of the family, and Rudy promises to Paul that he will protect and cherish the family that he has left him with. Poor Norn though, sh*t always gets real whenever she's on screen. It was her parents who she lost as well, especially Paul who she had become especially close with. Now she feels betrayed by her brother as he brings another woman home. No worries though, it seems she has gotten over it easily seeing Sylphie welcome Roxy with open arms, and even says why she is doing so. Sure a lot of people still think it is weird and in most of our cultures it is, but idgaf, this is anime, Roxy is best girl (although dang, mad respect to Sylphie in this episode. I'm assuming she's much younger than Roxy as she's probably similar in age to Rudeus, but she really acted as the grown woman in the room, long hair and pregnant belly and staying cool and not losing her temper at all over the rather precarious situation at hand. I also love how Elinalise tells Sylphie before departing that Rudeus loves her, knowing the conversation that's about to take place), and the bigger the better, the more the merrier. Plus we see Norn and Roxy holding each other as Sylphie's baby is being born. They're practically best buds now, which I'm glad for, because young Norn does not need to go through anymore pain.

Just gotta say it again; what a beautiful end to the season. Was pretty moving for me as Rudy spoke with his father by his grave, and then walking away, perhaps feeling a push from Paul, telling him to go life his life, and to live a good one. Part 1 of Season 2 felt a LITTLE dry to me, but Part 2 has reinvigorated the love I have for Mushoku Tensei. 8.4/10. Can't wait for Season 3 baby. Also that brief shot of Eris was hype.

Nah, Norn was the sane one. Her actions aren't always the greatest, but it's understandable given her age and background. This season had been pretty great, but of course, it can't end without reminding us how much of a scum Rudy is. I really liked Roxy too, but she really fell off in my books when she decided to sleep with him knowing he was already married and Rudy didn't even spare a thought about his pregnant wife at all before, during, and after the act. Sylphie has always had the lowest self esteem so being cornered like this, she pretty much had no other choice/answer.

I'd be fine with a harem where everyone going into it was aware of the deal at the start because then they know what they're getting themselves into, but the way things played out here, it's just extremely unfair to Sylphie. Trying to somehow act like what Paul did was something to be followed rather than abhorred was also super cringe.

Was it really necessary for our fuckboy here to marry everyone? I was really glad to see a lot of development this season mirroring his past life with Norn shutting herself in and also mirroring the death of Paul and his parents in the previous world, but in the end, he chose his dick because of course he would.

Norm makes sense. Her mom is functionally dead. Her dad who she loved is dead.

Decent ep. Decent end to the season but on the whole found this whole school arc unbelievably mediocre to poor. Hoping season 3 gets us adventuring and moving the plot.

wish I never watched past episode 10 cause harem ruined MT for me, I thought Rudeus was actually becoming a decent human being but cheating on your wife and brining another one left me shouting at my screen. I would love to see Sylphie ditch him and take the child and Roxy changing her mind cause she has caused so much drama that guy would be left all by himself cause there should be consequences for your stupid actions, not all possible female characters all over you cause you are such a special boy...
I was very disappointed by the first cour of second season and WAS SO HYPED after seeing 2nd cour opening and all the comments how it's simply anime of the year but really, REALLY??? as an anime only I could defend MC here and there for being a NEET who spent years looking at anime girls but there are limits and details ive read here from LN are utterly disgusting, I'll never see Rudeus the same ever again.
MT had such an amazing isekai fantasy potential with one of the best storytelling and character developments so it's really sad to see it go straight in the bin as soon as it became officially a harem, rip

Paul's thing is the worst plotline yet. I don't think I'll get over this, I'm going to constantly be thinking of the character that got sent off unceremoniously and how I'd rather it had been the MC. Paul sucked, but MC sucks worse. I can't imagine a next season that is in any way enjoyable. I'm tired of these forced character growth plots that leave an awful taste in my mouth.

Like, who cares what happens now? He has a kid and still has that disgusting inner voice anyway? Why do I want to watch that? Maybe another crisis with more people being killed off?

The whole Roxy stuff left a bad taste in my mouth. If they had actually shown how Rudeus' action were despicable towards Sylphie and had her struggle with the Roxy stuff at least for a bit, maaaaaaaaaybe it would've been better, but the fact that she just handwaves the whole thing and immediately accepts not only Rudeus cheating on her, but also giving her consent for his second marriage was just absolutely awful. It's like they destroyed all these characters so they could give the MC his harem.

The fact that they ended the whole thing with Rudeus' big happy family and his two wives just gives me no motivation to continue this series. Not to mention them already teasing Eris, aka most likely the third wife. Sigh.

It's very disappointing how this series went. I actually really liked the first season and thought the first part of the second season was decent as well. Didn't expect the whole thing to be a lead up for a harem story.

Sylphie is just that generous and understanding a person. People like that exist even here on Earth, so in an isekai fantasy world with floating castles, teleporter labyrinths, and manatite hydras, it's no big thing and not even a stretch.

I had the choice to stop watching after Sylphie got pregnant and leave it there, let them just be happy in my head. never thought this show deserved the hype it got, and it seems i'm not changing my mind anytime soon.

it gets praise for its supposedly more realistic depiction of the isekai'd recluse, but i have a hard time imagining a guy in that situation suddenly being all grown up and responsible when it comes to love (polyamorous at that), marriage, and fatherhood. they had a good thing going with the ED and the trauma of being abandoned by your first love, but they fumbled the next phase.

if Sylphie or Roxy get to marry other men as well and Rudeus actually has to face consequences for his sleaziness, it'll be a pleasant surprise and a plot point that could go a long way to redeem his character and expand on the family dynamics and attrition. i wouldn't put it past this show -- it still holds those progressive and down-to-earth undertones -- but i'm not holding my breath either.

stil a decent watch so far. not terribly desperate for the next season -- let them take their time if it's for the best.

I was pretty sure Sylphie would die in the meanhile. Well, I was wrong. We have harem now.
And this pretty much mean Eris will join them sooner or later too. Or she already gave birth to his child.

I think nothing will top the first season, but I still enjoyed the second cour of the second.
(I hated previous first cour though)

Too bad even if we will get S3 in relatively timely manner (meaning the end of the next year. more likely early 2026), the conclusion would have to wait to season IV which means 2028, four years from now. This waiting will be really painful.

Potential spoiler here, but I think anyone who have watched ep11 already know what's coming.

I now officially hate Roxy. Sylphie wasn't my og ship with Rudeus, she never was, but Sylphie didn't deserved getting cu cked like that. I also originally hated Norn for her attitude with Rudeus, but now I completely love her. Mega W for Norn, unfortunate and undeserved L for Sylphie, and frock you gardening ho e-ahh Roxy. Disgusting side chick. (I put the blame on Roxy and Elinalise lol. Rudeus was thinking correctly on not marrying Roxy until Elinalise convinced Rudeus to do so. Dude was damn vulnerable at that time, having the loss of his father and his vegetable mother. NORN SPOKE FACTS. N O R N S P O K E F A C T S. N O R N F R O C K I N G S P O K E M E G A F A C T S).

Objectively good show, but damn I hate where the story went.

Part 1 got me incredibly hooked to the series and I'm glad Part 2 followed suit with that! Rudeus's characterisation and the power of the cast in this series is one of a kind in my opinion, and I feel that's what separates Season 2 from Season 1 for the better. Action choreography, character dynamics and general feels have always been there but the elevation of the particular department of the show has been such a delight, I've become even more of a fan!

One thing I didn't like as much was the reasoning for Roxy to become the 2nd wife. I know there isn't a good explanation to it at all but saying that it was because someone else stepped up while Sylphy was away, doesn't feel right at all. I've nothing against polygamy, mind you. But I wish there was a better way to justify that. Cringey but I think if he were to breakdown his respect and lewdity for her from young age, it would've been more understandable xD. Sylphy going on to mention Paul-san's affairs was quite something too, and it's hilarious that she always saw it coming.

We saw despair in the previous episode and there were traces of that here too added skilfully thanks to great direction, but the general note suggests positivity. Small Eris teaser for what's to come next, huh? I'm sure that equates to more human drama and that's honestly been my favourite aspect of this series. Looking forward to it! I've heard about the inevitable but let's see how I'll feel about that. For now, I didn't have much qualms except for what I mentioned earlier.

Oh, and it seems like I never talked about the Op. hitorie-san, thanks for the same vibes as 86 - love that!

What more can I say? I was already a much bigger fan than I initially was after the previous season by the end of Part 1 of this season and this continued that ride. Here's to hoping S3 will match the same highs, if not better, right? Solid 9/10 from here. Depending on how Hibike Eupho S3 turns out, this might turn out to be 2nd or 3rd favourite show of mine this year.

absolutely fantastic. The whole of season 2 started out a bit rough if you ask me, they took away the unintrusive intro of season 1, they start it off with a bunch of depression stuff that really sucked to watch, but man if they didn't tie it all together at the end of part 2 here.

I have no idea how they plan to continue this story with a season 3, it feels pretty cleanly ended here. I'm glad Roxy didn't die like I thought for sure she would, and I'm glad that Rudeus married her as well. It's not often we get TWO best girls who both get the ending they deserve.

Shame about Paul and Zenith. I do wonder if they will use the school's resources to possibly heal his missing hand or Zenith's broken mind with season 3. I'm sure there will be baby shenanigans as well, which is never really a good sign if you ask me. I'd like to see Eris come back for S3, but I'm not sure if I want that because I want to see the drama or if anything good even can come from that.

I'll be perfectly honest, I was fully ready to stop watching pretty early on into S2 part 1 after all the depression junk, but Zanoba carried this entire part for me. Excluding his now two wives, I think Zanoba is the best friend Rudeus has, and he's the male character I like the most. I hope he gets some screen time in the next season.

I think that as a whole, Mushoku Tensei was a good show, and this season was still enjoyable, albeit quite different from the previous ones.

The only thing that was kinda disappointing was in the last episode where

I will probably watch Season 3, but I would like to see more progress on Nanahoshi/teleporting/etc... but I'm anime only, so I don't know where this is going.

Time to break ALL the news to the fam.

Sylphie over here all giddy and welcoming Rudeus back not knowing at all what's about to happen. But yeah. more than anything, I knew that Norn and Aisha's reaction to the whole ordeal was going to be the biggest moment. Though Aisha was more calm than I expected her to be. I mean even an adult would start freaking out and crying like Norn did. Whatever though, the more important and uh worser news to break was the fact that Rudeus wanted to wife best girl.

Gotta say though, Norn's seiyuu killed it this episode. And while she had a point, it really isn't that much of Rudeus' fault. She was kinda getting on my nerves towards the end because, idk if you know this Norn, YOUR DAD WAS THE EXACT, AND I MEAN EXACT SAME AS HIM. Dude just look at Aisha. But obviously the more mature person between the child and adult is the adult in the end, and Rudeus' harem thus begins. And as well as Rudeus' life as a dad and Sylphie's life as a mom also begins. Entire scene with Rudeus at Paul's grave made me shed a year man ":(

Rudeus' life has just now truly begun. A life given all thanks to Paul. His life in this other world continues, ofc in season three.

What a fucking season man. Part 1 was a downgrade on all fronts to many, and this season has easily brought those peoples back to the show. Thank you Bind. See you in season three.

P.S AHHHHHHHH ERIS IS BACKKKKK WOOOOOOO!!!

@IzanaSolos I don't see where you have to look to think that season 2 brought people back, it's by far the worst season, the story got worse and worse with each episode, it's trash, no one is coming back, if what, people shit talk it when they can

loved it through and through. Man I've been reading some of these butthurt one dimensional in their own echo chamber living retarded westerners complaining about Roxy being taken as a second wife and ish makes me laugh so hard. Love seeing westerner's world shatter when they are forced to see things from outside their worldview they absolutely crumbling and go into trauma mode lmao. bro dude got a second wife relax its not that big of a deal heck only thing that pisses me off personally about some of these depressed backward monkey is they complain about everything except when it comes to women, specifically in the case of Elinse she's literally a whore that was screwing kids on campus but you don't hear a damn thing from these wokie monky's. All in all Mushoku Tensei is a 10/10 show its just the stuff surrounding the show that is a horrible. In terms of Isekai id rate it as one of the top 10, 5 even. lets wait for the next season

I’ve never written an anime review before, but Mushoku Tensei frustrated me so much that I had to speak up. It’s honestly such a shame because the beginning of the season was really good. The animation is breathtaking, and there are so many emotional moments that really hit hard. But as the story went on, I couldn’t ignore the problems: Especially how badly it treats its female characters.

The biggest issue for me is how sexist it is. Almost every female character is stuck in a supporting role for the men. Even characters who start off strong and independent, like Roxy, end up being sidelined. She’s supposed to be this amazing mentor, but later on, she’s just another love interest for Rudeus and only he can bring her happiness by marrying her.

Sylphiette is even worse. She’s rescued by Rudeus, molded into his “ideal woman,” and then agrees with everything he says. She has no real independence. And Eris? Sure, she trains to become stronger, but only because she wants to “catch up” to Rudeus. Why can’t she just grow for herself?

The cheating with Roxy is the final straw

What really made me drop the show was the betrayal with Roxy. Rudeus cheats on Sylphiette with her, and the whole thing is handled so poorly. Roxy ends up being the one blamed while Rudeus’ actions are brushed off as “just him being a pervert.”

It’s the same justification the show uses for Paul, Rudeus’ father, who’s also a serial cheater. The narrative constantly excuses this behavior because “they’re just like that,” while the women are expected to forgive and move on. It’s infuriating and completely ruined Roxy’s character for me.

It is sooo realistic thooo: No it isn't.

Uncomfortable Relationships

On top of that, the show’s relationships are uncomfortable to watch. Rudeus, who mentally is an adult, views Sylphiette and Eris, both very young girls, in a romantic or sexual way. The story tries to play this off as part of his “flawed personality,” but it never really condemns him for it. Instead, it just keeps normalizing his behavior. I was like: Ok, at least they are the same age in the new world??? 2nd chance ???But it is still icky.

Final Thoughts

It’s honestly disappointing because Mushoku Tensei had so much potential. The animation is stunning, the emotional moments are beautifully done, and the worldbuilding is top-notch. But the way it handles its female characters ruined it for me.

The betrayal with Roxy was the final straw. If the story treated women with more respect and gave them real independence, it could’ve been a masterpiece. Instead, it leans into outdated, sexist tropes and keeps excusing toxic male behavior.

I’ve dropped it, and I don’t think I’ll be picking it back up. It’s such a waste of what could have been a fantastic anime.

The characters of this show are so trash. Lmao imagine bringing someone else in your relationship and the bitch just simply, such a cuck as bitch. Clowny writing.

1/5 for the episode

4/10 for the season, the worst yet

i think this is my favorite season.. the story was tragic, yet beautiful. the season concluded great.. everything that Norn said was VALID, but i'm glad that sylphie still had the heart to accept roxy. so much emotions this episode just like the previous 2.

So, there's the infamous polygamy I've heard so much about. I'd like to think I have a fairly nuanced take on the whole thing. I am obviously against polygamy, and I was cringing the whole time during the last two episodes of this season. Rudy and Roxy did a scummy thing, and they barely got any punishment for it, besides Norn rightfully scolding them. In that regard I think the anime did a poor job. The whole time it really felt like the anime was just trying to justify what they did, when it should've really let them suffer the consequences of their actions. Sylph accepting it so quickly also made me raise an eyebrow. Even if polygamy is more common in their world, that doesn't mean Sylph would've been fine with the idea just like that. But that brings me to the next thing, the polygamy itself. Well, it's already been established that polygamy is more common in the MT world than in our own, and while this doesn't mean we can't judge it from our point of view, it does mean that the characters in MT might not feel the same way about it we do. So I don't think it's impossible for Sylph to be ok with it, but there weren't any signs that she would be before Rudy cheated on her, and I think that's really the biggest problem with the whole ordeal. Up until now the characters in MT have been punished for their wrong actions, but in this one instance it's like the author just let it all slip by just to give Rudy a harem. It seems awfully out of place for what has so far been a very well written story. Would I say this ruined MT for me? Nah, not really. In my opinion I think the reason this in particular is so infamous and why it riled so many people up is because of how good MT is! Would anyone care that much if this was done in some other trashy harem isekai? I doubt it. We care because we like MT.
