Wangnan Ja is down but this episode is much more about him. Everyone was trying to make a point and it felt like there was a certain level of aggression reached between the cast.

Also reminded me this episode that Viole is no pushover.

Wangnan is still alive despite being impaled through the chest, but oh well, good for him. As for Beta, if I understood correctly, his hatred for Viole is mostly due to jealousy and because of what Emily said. It seems like a bit of an over-the-top motivation.

This episode, like recent ones, suffered from poor pacing and lackluster direction. It's hard to keep your attention when key moments don't work out the way they should. The only saving grace remains Kevin Penkin's score, which continues to elevate scenes that might otherwise prove disappointing. It's just a shame that the music does more of the emotional work than the storytelling itself.

Feels bad, some of my favorite lines got cut and replaced with random bs. The fight felt way off, Beta just going from 0 to 100 like 5 times doing the same thing again and again which was not the case originally. The music starts blasting for 2 seconds and then stops and another track just appears for another 2 seconds. The whole Beta Baam encounter felt way off. I want to say it's cool that we got to see the adaptation of these chapters but to be honest it feels like the worst episode they made so far.
Just read the manhwa guys.

The OST thing has been like that since ep1 of this season. They don't know how to fuckin use it at all.

Thank God Wangnan survived man idc how the ass pull happened just didn’t want my boy to die.

Animation was ass as per, but still a really intense episode. After seeing everything that happened to Beta when he was being experimented on and having to kill the only friends he ever made I get his anger, but it’s misdirected. Guess Emily just wanted to harness his anger and power to take out Bam, but nothing about Bam’s life has been “easy” bro was literally born in darkness, then the only person he ever loved and trusted betrayed him now he’s being used by FUG. They’re more brothers in circumstance than anything else.

Uh oh “viole’s final battle” coming up. Obviously he’s gonna survive, but this could also be the final battle in terms of him going by that name. Might be back to Bam full time after this

Once again the action scenes leave an awkward impression but i'm glad to see everyone together. I guess we'll see what happens with Beta but with all this kerfuffle should they suspend the workshop and let people heal/rest up? How the hell Wangnan survived that cowardly attack is beyond me but oh well, c'est la anime right?
I have a lot of hope for the show, but I don't think it'll be this particular season. Cheers to Bam and friends though.

@Cinkciut I'd have to rewatch the season to really put my finger on it, but you're right. It just feels so awkward and I hope we get another season but PLEASE any other studio than this. I know they're doing their best, but honestly if they can't pick up the slack this show may not survive, which would be a tragedy.

While I found myself pretty immersed in this one and thought the art and animation was better than usual, looks like that wasn’t the same for everyone else. It is what it is tho, this episode was still pretty exciting even if the art and animation weren’t up to snuff, we got to see the good guys finally throw down with Beta and then later Bam, I thought Beta had some pretty cool attacks, even going as far as to summon his stando, but it wasn’t enough in the face of Bam’s new power. Beta’s motivations were also revealed, but I’m wondering if this means that Emily isn’t as all-knowing as she seemed, or maybe she was just fucking with Beta lol.

Also Wangnan survived somehow, cool but how tho lol, guess a hole through the chest is but a flesh wound in Tower of God. And those soldier lads nearly pulled a fast one on Beta after he was defeated but Lero Ro, Akraptor and that crazy flame guy put a stop to it, but the battle is not over yet I don’t think with the rest of FUG and the Mad Dogs still around, hopefully they can keep this quality up or improve it for the last episodes of the season.

Decent episode I guess. Nothing particularly jaw dropping, but compared to a lot of the other episodes in the season, it's passable, dare I say alright even.

TOG Season 2? It wasn't bad by any means but it's hard to reccommend this to anyone unless they have alot of free time.

We've perservered almost an entire 2 cours of Season 2, and even if the final 2 episodes will produce the level of animation we saw in episode 1, it won't save it. I've been fairly positive, given both cours a 7/10 score up to this point.

Simply put The Answer Studio, in direction, in drawing, in animation, in production just not good enough to do justice to this source. They tried hard, at times it gave us hope, but they've not got the talent, they haven't got the expertise to produce top tier works over a long period. Kevin Penkin's scores are carrying this show and they can't even insert them in right, it never quite hits the moment, they could really learn from the first season here.

Who's left? the animation guys have left the building, the shounen mongs are barely here, most of us are either tog fans or long-sufferers endeavoring to finish what we started.

I just hope they do the final episodes some justice so the torch can be cleanly be passed on to another Studio who will revive this series so it can one day walk with the titans like it deserves.

Season 1 wasn't some great example but if I'm honest none of these cours can even make me feel the kind of goosebumps the first one produced.

It's okay... when we don't see any fights. Did you even see the sh*t that's happening in season 3, and season 2 should get much more epic really soon, whoever hired this studio to animate tower of god... and gave them zero budget (or studio offered to do it super cheap) should be kicked in the butt.

@Xrotics_13- I don't think it's explained as much as hinted, but yeah, Wangwan, one person without any special powers, except throwing pokeball (and in webtoon its much more apparent how weak he is compared to the rest of team) shows up to have very special power indeed. Dude is basicaly immortal as far as we know.

Showed up he would be able to pay his 20 floor debt through organ donations pretty much without consequences.

to me it looks like a mixture of novice animators , low budget and lack of interest in the source material. it's not bad it's just bland it doesn't stand out . it's not as if I want the old art style back I just want it to have normal animation and pacing instead of trying and failing at being an avant-garde

That’s a really interesting guess from you! I think I’ll stick with that explanation for why he didn’t die there - obviously, he’d already sold his heart, so his chest wasn’t a major weak spot in the first place.

I seriously wish Emily were real so I could ask her what the hell is even happening in the second season.

@Xrotics_13- Making season 1 look like and manwha was pretty epic choice and it worked out well, ngl. It's okay if it stays there. ToG season 2 stopped looking "ugly" and today it's modern art, looking nothing like a season 1 in webtoon.

But anime, it's not even mid or bland, it's just baaaaad. There's barely an animation. Compared to all other anime i watch and all of the industry is getting slowly worse. Well we can be praise them for not using CGI much I guess.

the season 1 art style was an interesting choice but in hindsight it was stupid to set the bar so high because of what's happening now and season 1 bar wasn't even that high. season 1 created a shit ton of plot holes that can't be fixed without feeling weird and changed the personalities of about 80% of the cast . and if this is the team going forward then may as well give this entire show a 5/10 right now

@LessThanAnimeFan That's easy, read manwha. And when you catch up, read about 1-200 more episodes. And you might get some answers. Sometimes in the comment section. God I love ToG.

@Xrotics_13- was it tho. Back in day i knew there was some changes but honestly i don't think season 1 anime changed anything important I remember, it was pretty close even if cut short with time to season 1.

As someone who doesn't read the manhwa, is the horrific directing/animation keeping the story from its potential? I'm so confused here. People hyped this Workshop arc to death but this arc has genuinely been terrible in every aspect of it.

Beta menacingly walking towards Wangnan with the hardest final boss theme song ever created. Kevin Penkin's score, once again being the only saving grace in such disastrous show (even when studio has no fucking clue of how to properly implement it).

A mere "I'll suck it up" is enough to make someone not die by a fracking whole hand going through their heart. And said hand destroying someone's most vital organ is inexplicably not enough to kill them, so an unspecified extra lethal move is required to "finish them off". Only in anime/manga🤦🏽‍♀️

I don't understand why many ppl said animation is still bad. Are your eyes open?? Even if the pacing and story is all over the place, that shouldn't divert you from the good animation (parts of them) as well. Because the animation has really improve a lot, especially on the eyes! Not every scene since one time it's mid and the other it's great, but looking at the great parts, at least they did a good job on trying to improve it. They just need to keep it consistent next time.

As I said earlier, the story is indeed a mess, but at least now Viole has arrived and everyone is at one spot so we can focus on that. But man, that Cassano guy.... Ugh one time he's an ally another time he becomes an enemy and then back to ally again and now back to enemy again.. The fudge did he want??!!
