As the title says. Regardless of what messages you think the story is about, do you agree with their actions, are they justifiable?

My view can change depending on what route the mangaka decides to go.

As of the first chapter, I do not agree with the MCs and I think what they do is not justifiable.

So far the MCs remind me of the military and government from Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction. They have imo the same mindset, but the military and government from Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction are far better written (logical because Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction is alreafy finished with 12 volumes)
bauce of the character's motivation to be against aliens. From my perspective, the MCs are supposed to be viewed as villains who think they are right for their irrational actions.

Ah yes, I love reading wall of text of reddit people overanalyzing a single chapter.

Yes, their actions are justifiable.
Yes, roasting aliens is funny.
And yes, if aliens tried to land in mainland China getting eaten would be their first interspecies interaction.

See you next week or two!

EDIT: i thought the ch ended after 30 pages 💀

Silly question. The protagonists are totally justified in how they feel, based on what we've seen. I don't know how you deny that unless you're reading with your eyes closed or you're preempting a plot twist. Until we get more information that contradicts chapter 1, the protagonists are right to feel the way they do.

It feels like people refuse to admit it because they are worried about what the author's angle is regarding the real world. But listen, theres the real world, and then theres the fictional story with the aliens. Regardless of what the aliens represent in the eyes of the author, right now their portrayal is worthy of contempt until we get more material.

..Okay..lets say we set aside real world politics. The dude literally beat a guy to death because he bumped into him??😭 And then they decided to eat his corpse.. Seems like a concerning lack of empathy from the characters lol. Im sure the aliens probavly have an agenda or something but at the moment their motives are just “idk man..something about them”

No. And anyone who votes yes is a psychopath lol. The story could go in any direction considering it is the first chapter but it should be the general consensus that the MCs are total asshole murderers

Short answer is no.

It was justifiable until the guy beat an alien to death. Yes, they are (apparent) assholes, but that's one second degree murder too much.

Everyone's afraid of what's the author's point in this, but besides that, they already showed that it is a bit extreme. Let's hope there's more to it because apparently these two dumbasses are psychopaths at the very least.

Neither side are justified, especially considering this entire alien occupation seems staged by the aliens. But without all that, no— the protagonists took it a step too far and here I was expecting one of the aliens to do something outlandish to them and push their boundary.

The eating them was kinda’ random, but I can’t tell where this story is going and that’s something worth waiting for.

Ok not gonna lie, i thought the chapter ended after 30 pages for some reason. So i went back and read the other half.

After reading the other half, I think the fact that theyre literally "eating the rich" might give it away. Just a hunch, though. But i definitely do not think Kitami's violence is in any way justified. This story seems like a loser's sick revenge fantasy, honestly.

Their FEELINGS are entirely justified. Their ACTIONS, however, are obviously not and I will get to that later.

The criticism itself was quite precise in many ways. It really got me when she pointed how “they aren’t allowed to say this in public” and that “it fells wrong to think this way”.

It hits the nail on the head when it comes to how the government is censoring and brainwashing society into accepting their diversity agenda, to the critical point where you fell bad for disagreeing with it. You start to FEAR thinking different because you know there will be harsh consequences if the elites find out.

They showed how diversity hiring can fuck with the average joe. They showed how exclusive spaces can fuck with the average joe. They showed how legal privileges can fuck with the majority. They showed how minorities can get away with anything under the godamn sun in order to protect some sort of stupid righteous agenda that borders on being an actual cult.

I thinks this kind of message is good once in a while. Media has been too one sided with messages about diversity, so showing the “other side” is healthy for a change.

THAT SAID-

The way the protagonists reacted was obviously comically out of line and one needs to be an enormous Redditor dumbass to not realise as much. I doubt the autor even wanted this to be a doubt.

Sure, “they are taking our jobs” and all, but that’s no reason to fucking murder and eat them lmao. The protagonist literally calls herself miserable as the punchline of the chapter.

Yeah, the message is that it’s good to vent your misery and intrusive thoughts at times. Bottling it up will only lead to an even worse life. It’s a critical against a society that doesn’t allow us to disagree with it.

That said, she and her soon-to-be boyfriend sure were “Drama Queens” for actively creating conspiracy theories and deciding to murderer and eating aliens under the excuse of them “not being people”.

Almost everyone genuinely disagrees with them and it doesn’t seem to be out of fear. Society as a whole seems fine.

They are psychos. Their expressions are psychotic. They call themselves miserable.

Their cause is just. Their methods are evil.

And that’s why the chapter was interesting. I hope it doesn’t get axed, since it tackles real social issues from an actual interesting perspective for once.

Interesting. You make a good case for the Right social commentary angle when I was starting to think that it was leaning more Left. Because, apart from the emphasis on censorship, the case for a left pov seemed stronger to me at least.

I genuinely don’t see how this one could possibly lean left in any way.

Like, the aliens straight up fire the main girl with a message saying “go die” lmao. Plus, we saw that there were “free parking” and “exclusive housing” for aliens, which is a pretty crass case of legal privileges that not even the biggest woke Karen could defend.

I don’t think the author will take the “aliens are unapologetically evil and hiding something” route, and I also don’t believe the protagonists are supposed to be in the right.

But really, the criticisms were there, clear as day, and I truly don’t think this is “the community accidentally agreed with the bad guys” case.

That said, it’s worth noticing that the author wrote a wholesome Yuri manga before and this chapter specifically had the heroine cursing at a girl for using the term “partner”.

So I don’t think he’s a hyper conservative either. I expect a surprisingly nuanced take in the long term.

There is nothing to agree with, the MC litteraly went insane after getting beated up every SINGLE DAY and the obvious result happened, Alien fucked around and found out, we will see if the story will go even more insane or try to make them hero.
To be honest im quite surprised internet didn't explode back then when Happy Sugar Life happened with the litteral psychopath lolicon MC, but i guess it's okay when women do it.

Eat aliens. Grill aliens. Roundhouse kick an alien into the concrete. Slam dunk an alien baby into the trashcan. Crucify filthy aliens. Defecate in an alien's food. Launch an alien into the sun. Stir fry aliens in a wok.

@JKKH I think thats a bit of an over-simplification if you take it at face value like that. We can see throughout the first chapter that humans are treated very differently than the aliens. The aliens get free parking, can seemingly get away with killing humans without any investigation as well as assaulting them (hitting the MC's), they get away with having terrible working conditions and paying crappy wages that no one can speak up against, as well as luxury housing that humans aren't allowed to live in. Idk man, killing them is a stretch i guess, but since they said it's been 9 years since they showed up, i don't see their treatment of humans improving. So back to your point, it's not like he killed the alien just for bumping into him, that was just the final tipping point

@thomaseh03 While some of this is shown, the majority is only explain to us by the very not objective MCs. Also abusive bosses and hit and run are not a alien trait, humans also do it. The MCs constantly assumed that their unhappiness is due to aliens and what do they think to solve that ? Not increasing their quality of life no, killing all of them. You cannot say this is a good choice, this is dumb and inhuman. Also the aliens are dehumanize and considered animals for being asshole ? They speak, have a humanoid appearance, live in a society and developp technologies.

It depends. Are the aliens yummy? If they are yummy in my tummy then sure, why not? After all we humans eat chickens and cows and stuff, so they probably taste like chicken and cow as well. If they aren't yummy in my tummy then no, I would not eat them.

One a more serious note, I'm surprised this anime was hated as much as it did, since are are plenty of anime/manga with much worse themes, characters, and graphic depictions of violence. Probably just virtue signaling more than anything else.
