Love is in the air? Lol, first time I've seen a romance segment this season.

Looks like some of the battles moved into a more open field. Hard for me to care about any character this episode except maybe Wangnan Ja. This still feels like it's all over the place but hey, at least there's only two major conflicts going on between North and the South.

This episode is good. I like it. Could have been better.

When beta said some members opposed Yoru, they should have showed Karaka and Yama in the background.

Betrayal is the norm in this anime, it's not even surprised anymore. In fact I would be more surprised if it doesn't happen.

Even though Endorsi only showed up at the beginning of the episode, she carried it with that little blush of hers as she asked Bamm to go on a date with her.

Endorsi's blush to start off the episode.. Yep this episode's going to be a good one.

So Beta is not on Bam's side, but is he on FUG's side then? I feel like they need to explain more on how Bam became a living ignition weapon, because all we know is that he just fell into a river. Unless that's actually all there is to it lol.

Bam's finally making his escape out of FUG, can't wait to see him team up with his old friends.

This Anime' has more betrayal than a Season of A Game of Thrones. Just in this one episode, almost. LOL An almost absurdist level of backstabbing went on.

This second cour is a huge improvement on the first. Far from perfect, obviously, but it puts the animation from the first cour to shame. And I’m enjoying have so many familiar pieces back on the board. Character development is stronger in this cour, too.

Tower of god, more like tower of betrayal πŸ—Ώ well this ep was great, but brings a lot of questions that I’m hyped to get (hopefully) answered next week, if it’s the whole Mad Dog team that is with FUG or if it’s only some, like the Mad Dog itself, didn’t he fundamentally despise FUG?

Will be interesting to see what happens next week, I’m guessing that Beta’s deadly attack isn’t enough to kill Bam, but he still got a fatal injury, also hyped to see how the tournament develops, maybe they breach the rules and everyone jumps FUG? That would be really cool ngl, maybe it will happen, hopefully

The flashback in episode 9 probably answers your question. But who knows? I’ve already lost hope of getting even a tiny bit of explanation for literally anything that happens in this anime.

Oh, and I almost forgot to add—we don’t even know what the fuck ignition weapons are. Nothing was explained, they just exist there...

Need that bam and endorsi date BADLY. And here I was thinking this was gonna be a chill romance themed episode after that start and the little romantic dance lol.

Betrayal was in the air this episode oh my days. I lost track of everyone’s allegiances because of all the backstabs lmao. But from what I’m gathering, the real prize of this battle is Bam, or at least the devil inside him? Even he didn’t see that dude in the red hat turning on him which is saying something because his battle instincts have become so good over the last few years. Wild cliffhanger to leave off on. Felt like it flew by in the blink of an eye. Animation still.. well Tower of God season 2, but the story was solid today.

Nice to get an extension of the Rak and Bam reunion at the start of this one, it woulda been nice if that was also at the end of the last episode but I’ll take it, also blushing Endorsi, epic lol. I also liked that short bit between Goseng and Kang, about time the cute glasses babe got attention. And I guess here is where the actual Workshop Battle starts, but I’m ngl the game doesn’t seem that interesting from the explanation of the rules and how it’s played out so far, I guess it’s really just a battle royale where you get one guy at first but can expand the team with the points you have, but I kinda feel like the whole starter thing was pointless, I guess this way there’s not as many full teams on the field but that would have been more hype if there was imo. Oh well, that one dude falling off the bridge with the Howie Scream was great tho lol.

And then there’s FUG and the Mad Dogs that got their own game, but that fell through completely when it seemed liked FUG’s plan was thwarted at first, but it was actually them that’s in control and now Bam has been stabbed by that Beta fella, still not totally sure what exactly this whole plot with ignition weapons is really about beyond the fact that FUG wants one to activate this Thorn thing, but hopefully stuff gets explained more as we go, there’s also the possibility that doesn’t happen but as long as I get to see Bam/Viole kicking ass with his old and new teams I’m good lol, I doubt that stab did him in.

@adbeaver I'm afraid they will not, they skipped the part in the manhwa when they explained that. The studio chooses to leave important worldbuilding parts of the story and put self inserted comedic bits, or the ones that are put in the background that are not at all important. It feels as if they do not know what people actually like tower of god for. The artstyle and whole plot in the manhwa is darker and does not focus on comedy inserts all the time, so they could save the airtime for actual content but they just don't. It's very apparent they are trying to reach a younger audience and it's not doing them any favors, the plot in tower of god is not straightforward and it's easy to get lost, but the studio just decides to make changes that leaves viewers even more confused. They changed a lot of stuff that just made sense in the manhwa and made the world feel like it's alive and well put together. Also lots of pointless changes such as the scene when Baam and Khun meet eachother again in the Hand of Arlene. In the Anime they stood next to eachother at an arm's reach. In the manhwa they were much further apart so Khun would have no way of seeing Baam's face. Also the dialogues are shallowed, some manhwa chapters were just cut straight out, and these were not filler chapters, TOG has no filler chapters, and with a convoluted story you can't just cut plotlines out when all of them intertwine. As for how Baam becoming a living ignition weapon, the story is written in the perspective of an audience surrogate, we learn about the world along with Baam that was inserted into it without any prior knowledge of it's antics. All we and Baam know up to this point is that Jinsung upon seeing Baam's talent has decided he was ready to take the Devil in. It was kept in secret in the Wine Glass, the place where Rachel pushed Baam off in the first season. When Baam saw a red light inside it he felt pain and fainted. Upon waking up he felt it inside of him. Noone in FUG answered any of his questions about it, so at this point there is nothing else you would know, if you wish to learn more look up the Manhwa season 2 chapter 43, and then manhwa season 2 chapter 36. I can not stress enough how much is left to desire in the anime compared to the manhwa, it's really disappointing.
TLDR: anime just skips all the important parts to get as much shitty comedy they can fit, even to the point where they skip jokes that are actually funny to add their original ones that suck. If you wish to have anything near a coherent experience with this story i strongly suggest reading the manhwa.

Oh boy, the "comedy parts" in this anime are absolutely cringe and out of place all right. Idk what tf they were thinking when adding them. The adaptation is already bad and that just makes it even worse.

Yeah, at this point it's probably better for me to find out the answer myself rather than relying on the anime lol. Though, the problem is that I don't know if it's actually intended for me to not know anything about it at this point of the story. They skipped a lot of stuff that it makes it hard to distinguish between skipped chapters or an actual plot of the story.

Thanks for the explanation brother. I knew they skipped a lot of stuff but I didn't know which ones they did, so this helped a lot. I can see how the tone of the story is a lot more serious in the manhwa compared to the anime seeing just how bad the story plays out in the anime. Although I still find the anime pretty enjoyable, I will at some point after finishing the anime, pick up the manhwa as you have suggested.

YOOO, WAIT A MINUTE, IS ENDORSI REALLY IN LOVE WITH BAM???
HELL YEAH!!!

I don't like that we always have so many new characters that appear out of nowhere, no explanation, no names, yet our protagonist cast acts like they were there since the begining lol
I don't know if the adaptation is rushed, or if the manhwa is the same in that aspect, but it sucks. That's really the only big complain I have over this show.

I like Novick, he is kind of a bro, I hope he doesn't get kill or something.

Wow, this was actually epic, the first great episode of this notoriously bad second season of Tower of God. Still, thinking about watching it with season 1 arstyle makes me cream on the spot, but I can't be that mad for once

It's a tower of betrayal, what do you expect? πŸ˜‚ Love the extension of the reunion with Rak's flashback :3 <3 Now that's what you call a reunion. Wished they would just insert a bit of that in previous episode. Beta doesn't seem to be on Bam's side, but he definitely at least is not on FUG's side. Well they're obviously gonna fight sooner or later judging from the opening and he even said he's been urging to fight with Viole before. And boy Khun in blonde and with that up/backward hairstyle is mamamia >///<

I really love the artsyle in this episode. Some posts mentioned this one being similar to season 1's. Is it? I honestly didn't notice. Not sure if that's the reason why I'm loving it so much more. Even the animation improved, like for real. The small hair/bang movements to the trail of Shinsu

The reunion between Baam and Rak was really short, too bad. At least we got to see Endorsi blushing when she saw Baam again. I hope that date happens.

There's a reason it's called the Tower of Betrayal and this episode had way too many betrayals. Even their supposed enemies were on FUG's side, and the prize of it all is Baam. Let's see how he comes out of this one and hopefully his fight with Beta will be epic.
