Tsunehiro ended up going sap fishing with everyone.

However, eager to catch a big one with his prized reel and rod, he quickly switched to lure fishing and, pretending to be a pro angler, set off solo to try his hand at a sea bass game.

We all read it as a "chum" and nothing other than that ...

Somehow this weeks episode turned into some sort of a narrated fishing documentary/advertisement, lol ... but a nice little twist. Also, i'm guessing there is much darker history behind Takaaki being a host, wonder whats that all about.

Really like how laid backed and chilled this episode was with everyone just relaxing and enjoying fishing.

Decent episode. For the first half, Sasaki had regressed to his usual self, skipping off to do loner shit and be inept as always, but he eventually came back. What was missing was Hana roasting him while he's doing his fake TV interviews, though Fujishiro's narration did a pretty good job of that. Fuji's been more or less a background character so far, so this screentime for him is very welcome. I'm also looking forward to hearing more about Takaaki. No doubt something sketchy went down at the club he was a host at.

Have we hit all the side characters, or does the manager also get an episode?

This dialogue would be fun without context

Hiro: 20 cm... So small.
Takaaki: Hiro, you seem to be dissatisfied.

Anyway, love to see Hiro pretend that he's in some kind of fishing documentary, I used to play make-believe when I'm young too so I totally get his feeling.

The episode had the feel of a Discovery Channel show. Fujishiro is undoubtedly the commentator of the fishing show; his face even looks like that of a fish, which is quite funny.

Tsunehiro's dark era is fading away. Now he's starting to smile and enjoy life, but he should remember that it's always better to have fun in company and that it's weird to talk out loud alone. A solid episode.

Tsunehiro tries to whistle, while not knowing how. The writers sure made him one of the saddest, dorkiest protagonists in recent memory. In kind of an endearing way, in the last few episodes.

Nice episode where they just banter and fish. Yuru Camp vibes, especially with the music.

I enjoyed this quite a bit more than the ones before. When it's focused on fishing and with those vibes, I feel that's when this show is at it's best.

We are finally getting Tsunehiro development thank God. Dude was so unbearable, now he’s showing positive growth. Very chill episode and I liked the Japanese tv show parody commentary they had going on with Tsunehiro internal monologue lol.

Bro got all that expensive fishing equipment, but don’t know what to do with it πŸ˜‚ hey, but like Hana and the other said, it’s a learning experience and now he can plan out how he wants to improve for the next outing. It’s nice to see him genuinely smile for once, almost enough to make you forget his illness

Perhaps the craziest thing here tho is that we learnt he only makes 1050 an hour at the store holy shit that’s crazy.

This episode really speaks to me. I fully identify with the appeal of casting and bait fishing can sometimes feel boring or less interactive but when you are catching left and right its very satisfying. The downside to all those small fish is its a lot of work to prep them for dinner. I do like sardines though...

I'm kind of surprised that they haven't shown him catching things like seaweed or getting his lure stuck on rocks and such. This is pretty common and can lead to you losing your favorite lure. I want to go fishing so bad right now!

Ahw seeing Hiro's genuine smile made me so happy! It's very heartwarming to see him become happier bit by bit. Like someone else mentioned; this episode gave me Yuru Camp vibes, very relaxing..

They're making me more and more curious about Takaaki's backstory though, hopefully we'll get to see more next week.

Amazing chill episode with some nicely understated and meaningful growth for MC.

Earlier in the season I felt Hana was carrying the show but now I am feeling more of a balance as we have had some development for other characters and also MC becoming less insufferable.

Hana still the best though, love her reactions, fishing wisdom and competitive spirit.

Tsunehiro not being able to catch fish via lure puts the subtext that it is not good to fish alone. Fishing in this anime has always been a group activity.

@Marinate1016 C-store wages? What did you expect riches? LOL Even when I worked for 7-11 in Florida they weren't the greatest. Had killer benefits, even for part-timers though.

I could watch an entire anime that’s narrated like a fishing show, it could be half length episodes where they fish for a different fish every time and at new locations, someone get on that lol. But yeah I really liked that bit where it was just Tsunehiro by himself, making blunders and just being a goof, really relatable honestly, even as someone that has fished a lot I still make those same mistakes, but it’s all fun tho. It’s unfortunate he didn’t get his big catch, but just having something like that on the line is pretty exciting, and after seeing that fish jump near the end of the episode, I sure hope he gets his big catch before the end of the show.

And oh yeah, I forgot this episode was somewhat about the little glasses gremlin Fujishiro, I like the whole walking mystery thing he has going on, he reminds me of the meme “moisturized, unbothered, staying in his lane” lol. And the reveal at the end that he’s the commentator of that fishing show was nice, I had a feeling that was the case when they were first watching it early in the episode. And I can absolutely agree with the statement that the most important thing in fishing is to have fun, whether you’re a seasoned pro or just beginning, whether you catch something or not, whether it’s a big catch that comes every once in a while or you’re catching small fry left and right, at the end of the day having fun is what matters most, I’m really loving that Tsunehiro is starting to get that, he’s like night and day from how he was in episode 1.

It was a good episode, especially since the last two were a bit boring. The narrator was funny, and I enjoyed Tsunehiro’s development as he learned how to fish. I think this might be the first time I’ve seen him smile.

Tsunehiro going sabiki a.k.a sardinella fishing with the rest alongside the mysterious Fujishiro, it's the standard fishing regular, though still at the beginner level for the rookie trying to reel one successfully. And when things don't go his way, diverting to lure fishing will help catch bigger fish at a higher success rate.

The narration in this one is a mishmash of game mechanics and the Discovery Channel TV Japanese documentary of sorts (with Fujishiro's commentary) of Tsunehiro trying to make it big. Even when Hana comes in to interrupt on his internal charade, which Tsunehiro almost got a fish that was just too strong for his own good, going back to sabiki fishing ends up reaping better rewards. even if the fish doesn't end up being sardinella, which it doesn't need to be. That's what fishing is, competitive but fun at the same time.

Fujishiro is Fish Dreamer itself.

I saw a location in this episode that I would like to visit if it really exists.
It was nice that he felt like he belonged to the rest of the team...
(When he initially "excluded" himself)
Interesting voice reveal from that TV show.
