Gaku's got a big target on this back.

Episode is fine but it looks like they added an additional risky gameplay mechanic. Watching Kirika casually walking around is almost kinda funny. But yeah, this episode's game and numbers had dramatic changes.

Before the router plan got explained it looked like Haru managed to coerce Kirihime into funneling everyone's points to Gaku with his single question (which was probably intentional but still hilarious lmao)

I knew Haru had an extra trick up his sleeve when he was dressed as a Shinto priest. The stuff that Haru was spreading around that was causing signal interference is the same thing you find in chaff grenades. Pretty sneaky of them to plant a fake router to steal the network passwords from the competition.

What an awesome episode. I had no clue how they were going to win last week but I loved how Haru had it planned from the distraction to stealing the passwords. Looking forward to next week's episode even more now.

There's hacking in the traditional sense and there's social hacking and social engineering. This anime is the gift that keeps on giving.

I'm surprised that Haru had knowledge about Evil Twin or maybe even that he found out from one of those 100 hackers. I really hate cheaters though. I had a guy just like Haru in my class in college, he passed all his exams by cheating even during internship I did all the work and he just talked and pleased our superiors and in the end he got a good job in a well known MNC (although it was in marketing and not IT) and I'm working in a small start up. These kind of people really piss me off specially given that they find success in society.

Trillion, what a scene of a lot of cheating to get in first place, I thought it was super unfair of the competition.

This was the most 1990s Hollywood display of cyber-hacking I have seen in awhile, but I still enjoyed the episode anyway.

The faces are so great. Liked the other guy that wanted to destroy both of the main chars ... when he failed and Kirihime came back. :D Other guy that smokes a lot: That one also is interesting. And I liked how they fit in the school girl that later becomes secretary of Gaku. (When does he marry her? :D)

The main message of this show and the original manga is that playing dirty is the best and fastest way to get rich and be able to buy whatever you want?

My thoughts about the anime so far, why kirika is not the Main character of the anime ?? so far the plot is created around her person... Great to see that creators put such a small detalis like the thoughts of the BOSS of the big company, how it truly feels to hire small worker into big company and keep him on the smallest sallary possible (how real is that ;D)

List of the prohibited actions for the tournament heard in the anime:

1- Abusive language directed at others
2- Attacks against unauthorized servers or networks
3- Spying on answers given by other competitors
4- Acts benefiting criminal organizations
5- Acts that violate public order and morality

I wonder if Haru's cheating violates the 5th rule. Though if so, you could say any team participating in Dragon Bank team's scheme to team up against MC's team did so as well. And if not, and if this list is complete, then I would say they can't be disqualified for violating the rules.

it really ruined the mood for me when dude just casually pulled off his plan without anyone realising and there's no moderators at this tournament? now it makes me feel there's gonna be more nonsense things like that, well creators have to make an intrigue situations like this for this kind of anime. also reaction of kirihime was weird, did she really expect 1 guy to win vs 11 teams of 4??? still it's the best anime of the season with score 6.9 - as expected, as always, and one of a few watchable

Kedouin and Mizuki are here!
Disperse bits of aluminium foil to disrupt the real router's signal. The other teams, frustrated by the speed, connect to the fake router he set up without thinking twice; allowing Gaku to steal passwords. The audacity to cheat in such a creative manner has grabbed Kirihime's attention again.

So that venture capitalist will definitely invest into them, and we see his email looking secretary student will become Gaku's secretary.
Very smart, and thanks to Kirihimi, this is officially a sex tournament and she's looking forward to it! (really disappointed in her underestimating them AGAIN)
Gaku is still a monster, even if (just want to note, his name is Taira, Manabu, not Gaku) Haru is "cheating" (doesn't seem to be against the rules and honestly is a nice curveball as it's ITSEC (or whatever) 101, but Haru distracted the hell out of them).
4/5, their likely investor is druggy asshole and Kirihimi underestimated which was annoying, also she seems waaaaay to happy to bonk Gaku, like chill.

@Maou_heika yeah, that's how it is. Social engineering is #1 money maker. Trickery and convincing.
It's definitely nerve racking to have people who do little or nothing get promoted, while people who do everything get nothing. That's how it works unfortunately (and part of why I did business on my own until disability really caught up to me)

@beren_09 Exactly. They can't be hit with #5 because than lots of teams have to be. Technically didn't violate any other rules. #1 more so protect people being assholes verbally, #2 just tells people to not use this to attack things outside the event, #3 just prevents one from looking at each-others screens (Gaku is technically not spying on answers, simply rewriting their code) #4 is similar to #2 but encompasses more possible criminal things that I can't even imagine at this time.
#5 is only one, and actually might have worked, if most of other teams didn't gang up. Would really be bad PR to disqualify everyone for being smart.

Haru's priest outfit was already funny but he used that to sabotage the other opponents' rooters and make their connection horrible just for them to use a fake rooter so they get all of their passwords stolen, okay that was so great ahaha once again Haru has the best strategies I love it

Future Gaku being the darling of the media of Trillion Game's success story, Dragon Bank's SEC-CHAMP is its starting place...alongside Kedoin's assistant Mizuki, who's still a high schooler at the time. This is where it begins...

The Security Championship's finale is everything at stake, and even one single move matters...where's Haru's Shinto priest get-up DOES serve as a distraction with his aluminum foil fan and Gaku gets a headstart immediately while everyone else lags behind, at least for the precious few minutes. But Dragon Bank's attack, more than just one lone plan alone by having everyone go after their points, it wouldn't be Haru if he didn't have a backup plan for this matter by completely reversing the attack back...by hacking into the network passwords and setting up its Wi-Fi set up intentionally just for this purpose.

Haru's Submarine Strategy is a masterplan, and this show is a master of tricks.

I would far prefer Kirihime's 100 mil yen (but with a 20 - 25% stake) to sleeping with her, but that might just be me. She is kawaii but no one-off sex is worth that much, particularly if you're broke.

So they cheated to win, via routing all traffic to their own AP and stealing the credentials of the other teams, but Kirihime's team also cheated.

All contests explicitly forbid the organizers from joining the contest, and yet Dragon Bank did precisely that as the 13th team, blatantly violating the rules of their own contest. Said rules were only hinted by some other contestants, they were not expressly stated, but that was not required.

All contests would be illegitimate, or rather farcical, if the contest organizers could compete in their own contest. Apart from... self-awarding making no sense they could also rig the contest in their favor. It would also be illegal.
