Yoshino really does have a lot of connections to others in this series. Looks like some other important characters showed up for a meeting. She and Kirishima still has some spicy chemistry this episode although it looks like she shows more attitude towards him, with some comedy blended in. Well, it's good to know just how important Kirishima is. |

Kirishima is back at his antics, stalking Yoshino in her sleep. Yet again, I must ask of myself: is my hatred stronger for the borderline rapist male lead you see in Shoujo romances or the blank slate beta bitch male lead you see in Shounen romances? Might have to take Shoujo's side here. At least this guy gets laid. Motorcycle Man Shouma gets a proper introduction in this episode, thus raising Yoshino's harem count to two. Some good hooks here with him bringing up the possibilities of war between two yakuza families and a hit on Kirishima. Three episode check... passed? |

Kirishima doing what he does best and that is stalking Yoshino, now he started to stalk her while she's sleeping as well lol. Attaboy, that's our yandere male lead for ya! I loved how Yoshino really wasn't bothered at all by Kirishima technically cheating on her since they're in an arranged marriage after all. She wasn't bothered by it because unlike most female characters paired up with a bad boy in a romance story, Yoshino isn't at all attracted by his bad boy persona and has zero feelings for him. That's my queen Yoshino <3 Also our cool motorcycle boy Shouma finally appeared. For those that didn't catch it he calls Yoshino: "Yoshino-san" that shows that he really respects her even if technically he's her adopted brother so they should be equals in how they address each other. |

keeping it PG-13 is a crime .. this show should be R-X crime drama, hentai romance. no need for the cursed comedy. honestly, it's merely a time waster. |

Well, I was just grabing some snacks, and be like "Let me watch Yakuza's Fiancee new episode", and then I clicked on the episode and that scene appeared, and I was like "wait, did I misclick on the anime? This anime is not really the greatest fit for having some snacks either", but nope, it was indeed Kirishima. A strong way to start an episode I guess xD Anyways, things are starting to pick up with the introduction of Shouma. I'm actually surprised that Shouma is actually a kind of "childhood" (?) friend of Yoshino, and is from the same gang as her. It seems we have some kind of backstory to it, since Yoshino said that the fact that he picked a fight with a Yakuza member, was actually for the better, since he could join her family, even if her family was horrible, it would still be better than the life that Shouma would have if he wasn't in the Yakuza (so, yeah, his life must have been REALLY bad). In a way, he's a bit similar to Kirishima, since he actually seems to be in a different world, like how he just went out of the dresser shirtless (well, with his body is only natural he would want to show off, who wouldn't?), and how it seems he can be really cold and hard to read. However, he seems like much more sane than Kirishima, and you can clearly see that he appreciates Yoshino a lot, probably because she was his only friend for a long time (This is just me guessing though), and was completely ready to go back with her to Tokyo, and kill Kirishima if she asked him too, so yeah, he's completely down for her. It must be really hard for him to see her with Kirishima, who doesn't really respect Yoshino that much. It seems that Yoshino is clueless about his feelings though, probably because he doesn't even have the chance to date the grandaugther of the leader of his own gang, so he wouldn't show her his feelings, but that's my guess. But maybe, now with Kirishima on the triangle, things might get different. And Yoshino went from having 0 love interests to 2, go get'em queen, we support you. Not gonna lie, I don't know if I won't ship her more with Shouma than with Kirishima, so far, Shouma deserves her much more, he literally went Tokyo->Osaka->Tokyo just to get her an album. I wonder if he has any relationship with Kirishima, because this has the feelings that they know eachother. Anyways, as a side note, I thought Kirishima's reaction to hearing that Yoshino lost her dad in a traffic accident was weird, and there must be some backstory to that too. This episode was honestly really good, and this anime has been quite a surprise so far, and I'm really curious how this romance will develop. Also, I can see now why this is a Seinen and not a Josei. I'm surprised this is rated as PG-13 honestly, because the opening was already pretty explicit, but this episode was wild with that first scene, and the 1st episode was quite violent too. Edit: Forgot to mention how Yoshino was ok with the idea of Kirishima killing her, but she drew the line when he started tangling her hair, and she was like "nope, I'm killing him today" |

I open the episode and the first thing I see is Kirishima going down on a random girl, already knew this was gonna be a great episode lmao. Watching The Penguin has just made me trust no one in this mob shit lol. I’m sorry I’m not fucking with the obsessive stalker trope Miyama got going on tho. It’s just frankly really cringe and uncomfortable and one of the things I hate most about a lot of shojosei relationships(this is seinen but the mangaka made her name with shojosei stuff and this is basically adjacent). Shoma seems like the much better choice even tho he got some issues himself clearly lmao. I don’t really get what’s the point of having this take place in high school tho when the cast is doing nothing school related.. would’ve been so much better to have them as young adults in college and exploring all the dark shit going on with the Yakuza. Still enjoying it, but that would’ve made it way better. |

That won't be the last scene of Kirishima and random women lol. One thing I like about this series is that it's supposed to portray YAKUZA and doesn't shy away from the darker and sometimes morally grey topics and scenes. If anything, our female lead is too innocent/naive compared to her environment. Shouma was more hot in the manga... But he is my favorite character in the series - looking forward to his backstory :) |

still so messy, i just wish they were college students instead of high-schoolers. they look and act like adults and don't spend much time in school so why make them like 17?? a story like this is exactly the kind that wouldn't suffer from its protagonists being 20 |

@GakutoDeathGlare What exactly was "trashy" about it? That Yoshino's dad died before she was born? Oh, so trashy. Or the tension between the yakuza factions, oh no, so trashy! That's actually good writing. If you mean Kirishima "cheating" on Yoshino being trashy, he obviously has some serious psychological issues going on that will be explored more and Yoshino doesn't care anyway because she doesn't love him, it's just an arranged marriage for her. If you're one of those "alpha-males" that thinks Kirishima pining for Yoshino, him being "a simp" for her is "trashy", when he's not, he's a wayyyy more masochistic twisted person than just a simple, run-of-the-mill "simp". If you thought episode 2 was "alright" and not "trashy", you'll get a lot more episodes similar to episode 2 with lots of action so don't get your panties in a bunch. Raise wa even if from the 1st episode may seem like it's gonna be just a "trashy, toxic love" kind of story, it's way more than that, it excels in studying the psychology of the characters and also building the yakuza setting. It's far from being "just another trashy romance anime". |

@Marinate1016 The manga is in a seinen magazine created by a female mangaka that had her previous manga in a josei magazine. In the last 10 years or so I noticed many female mangaka started publishing their manga in seinen magazines in order to have a wider audience and also seinen manga are more well-respected and get more awards, so it's more of a logistics, popularity thing. This has been done since the early 80's with shounen manga starting with Takahashi Rumiko and the early 2000's with Hiromu Arakawa, Katsura Hoshino, Akira Amano etc. |

@-Hotaru_ lol, whatever, this is obviously made to satisfy the Female gaze, I'm not as impressed as you obviously are (seeing that you even have it in your favs lol). Started watching the episode with my bf beside me and didn't expect the eating out scene, his reaction was priceless lol I like that the anime doesn't mind being puritan and just goes all out in being an adult anime. A guy who drinks, smokes and murders people being a virgin would be something most anime would try to pull off just because, but this one doesn't feel the need to make him a virgin and that's nice. Great that Yoshino noticed it and made it clear that if she liked him he'd be dead. Not knowing what to expect is great and this feels refreshing. Didn't expect Yoshino to know the other guy. Is he the other one in the triangle then? I hope there's at least one more because so far none of the two caught my attention. But depending on what they do this might change. |

@GakutoDeathGlare lol, Haru no Noroi was her first published manga and that was her first art style, she improved her art style in Raise wa around chapter 29 so that's pretty much her new art style/second art style. You can read chapter 1 vs chapter 29 if you don't believe me. @Marinate1016 Really, I was talking more about character archetypes than about this particular series. Unstable men like Kirishima are common in stories that appeal to women, and so on. Saying Shoujo just flowed better than saying female-oriented. |

@-Hotaru_ Amusing that you comment about getting "panties in a bunch", simply because I commented about not liking and dropping an anime, ah, look in the mirror? Maybe? Anyway, I was talking about the art style of this anime adaptation, the sharpness, the goofiness (hence the joking comparison to Gakuen Handsome), not the manga in question. Look, I'm gonna drop it here and go no further, seemingly every time I question some show, it's some poster with it in their favs who inevitably wants to lecture me lol |

Kirishima is a crazy idiot who could probably kill anyone who pisses him off with a punch, and in the next five seconds, he's like an elementary school student who wants Yoshino's attention. He may be a goofball, a womanizer, a lunatic, a masochist, self-destructive, and has a fake smile, but look at him trying to win Yoshino over. A new guy showed up, someone Yoshino has known for a while, and I really like their dynamic. Now, Kirishima will probably want to confront him or do something crazy, the love triangle started. It also looks like we'll finally get some development in the Yakuza story. |

Was not expecting for her to know the guy. So Shoma has a dragon for his tattoo...they are really going hard on this love triangle thing (^_^;) ๐
๐. Kinda sad hearing what happened to her parents. Pretty sure Yakuza had to do something with it. It seems Yoshino is being used as a piece in this game as well as a stop gap for fighting. On another note, surely Somei didn't just give them candy right? |

The REAL best man in the series is Hotei, who raised Yoshino. (I hope the Pixiv comic where this is illustrated makes it to the official manga or anime one day). While both Kirishima and Yoshino’s VA’s match pretty close to what I had in my head, Shouma DEFINITELY sounded different than what I expected. I always imagined him to with more attitude. Kind of like the ‘over-it-all’ annoyance and boredom of teenager while being lectured by their parents, y’know? They introduced an anime-only character, which was unexpected! So much Yakuza political dynamics in this one it got a bit overwhelming tbh, I’m sure as time goes on I’ll get better with the names and their relationships, but for now all I know is something seems up with Yoshino grandfather’s old friends. The way the blonde dude looked back at him just felt.. off. And with everything Shoma was talking about with the agreement just being a false flag, adds up.

@Marinate1016 "why does this take place in High School" same reason why every other anime is set in HS because they're teens and act and react as what a teen would do in Japan if it was Adults acting like Teens it breaks all immersion |

hmm I haven't read the manga so I'm only relying on the anime.. why dies kirishima sleep around with other girls? is he a playboy? I guess he is. yoshinl is my fav! I love her disgusted expressions! also another thing that I'm liking is that this anime isn't sweetening the deal with romance but it keeps the Yakuza plot at point. I love how they show the yakuza ain't just the for show but it affects the protagonists lives and their approach to things. I love they do show the dirty side of the business. also yoshino is well connected and when in that scene yoshino's grandpa met his friends, I felt a bit weird about those two. kirishima's grandpa seems lost, high whereas the other friend seemed suspicious or it felt like he was controlling kirishima's grandpa Ina way. |

AJpurple said: still so messy, i just wish they were college students instead of high-schoolers. they look and act like adults and don't spend much time in school so why make them like 17?? a story like this is exactly the kind that wouldn't suffer from its protagonists being 20 agree on that. even the sexual content and no one having having problems with yoshino being out with a dude like kirishima...I would want them to be college freshmen who are atleast adults. they are literally kids going into pubs, sleeping around and all. but then, that's manga for you! the teens never act their age lol |

-Hotaru_ said: @GakutoDeathGlare lol, Haru no Noroi was her first published manga and that was her first art style, she improved her art style in Raise wa around chapter 29 so that's pretty much her new art style/second art style. You can read chapter 1 vs chapter 29 if you don't believe me. You can also compare Bleach's art style in chapter 1 vs chapter 500 or Naruto chapter 1 vs chapter 500 or One Piece's chapter 1 vs chapter 1000. lol, snobbish aren't we? I also have Mushishi, Baccano and Legend of the Galactic Heroes in my favourites panty boy so stop getting your panties in a bunch. You haven't read the manga so you don't know how and why it's actually good so politely stuff a sock in your mouth. don't bother. that's a hater they'll just come back with something else each time and still miraculously watch the entire show |

I guess the Yakuza don't have a problem with eating puzzy like the Italian mafia do . |

The man with the pointy nose glaring at Renji.
I wonder if this series will stray from the manga because of him

@samspot8r8s You don't mean Hishiba Akime, the third guy that appeared in the photo with Gaku and Renji back in the day and now is the mafia guy that Renji gave candies to, right? That guy appears in the manga. The chubby mafia dude with black hair, Suga Ranzo from the Himetorano clan also appears in the manga. You must mean Azuma Narumi, while he doesn't appear in on that introduction page in the manga he appears later on in the manga so he's not an anime original character. |

Look, I'm gonna drop it here and go no further, seemingly every time I question some show, it's some poster with it in their favs who inevitably wants to lecture me lol

@GakutoDeathGlare Let's agree to disagree in a gentleman way. The only reason I was a bit mean in my reply isn't because you dropped the series, that's your personal choice, it doesn't bother me. What bothered me is you calling it trashy only watching 3 episodes, that's too much. I agree, the first episode with her selling her kidney could be considered too weird by many but episodes 2 & 3 aren't trashy at all, the story only gets more interesting by each episode. |

@phantomfandom so I wasn't the only one that sensed the gay romance
@queenbananya You "sensed" it only in a few seconds? Just because Miyama grandpa doesn't have children doesn't mean he's gay lol, you read too much yakuza yaoi manga. Gaku is mysterious but he doesn't seem to be too much into the Akemi guy, the only person he seems to accept, as a friend btw, is Renji who is straight and had lots of affairs with women. So yeah, I'm not on the Gaku-Akemi train, at most it was a one-sided crush on Renji that never became something more because Renji is straight. Gaku can be asexual or a straight playboy that doesn't want to settle down and have kids and unlike Renji is careful to not get women pregnant. |

Hmmm the beginning…hmm idk the thing is besides the ending of this episode it was boring…and the beginning was just meh for someone who claims to love someone else…he ain’t not loving her that much he just loves what she can give him basically so it’s all kind of meh…it be nice if there was more nerve wrecking scenes since it’s about Yakuza… |

It impress me how different is the raction to a promiscuous male character and a promiscuous female character, if sex were reversed i would be piss off about kirishima and drop the anime but female audience seems kinde liking it?! Or at least don't mind it that much? ๐ค |
