Takaaki and the others were left bewildered as Tsunehiro suddenly ran off. Meanwhile, Tsunehiro took refuge in an internet cafe, worrying about his future.

During this time, an online fishing contest with a cash prize was generating buzz.

It's good that they have shown us that our main-kun didn't get so many debts just by some random unfortunate event, but that he actually gambled his money away, pretty lowlife thing to do.

But anyway, he run away, again ... something he does quite often in his life as it would seem, running from everything in his life. But at one point, one must stop.

That OP is really annoying.

A million yen for catching a houndshark? Wow. :O I would buy a new computer and an electric bicycle with that money.

Poor Tsunehiro. I feel bad for him. However, gambling isn't usually a good way to handle your money problems, so he can only blame himself for the situation.

Anyway, Takaaki to the rescue. Tsunehiro is lucky to have such a good friend in this life.

It seems Sasaki has finally reached a point where he doesn't need to run away anymore, but i'm guessing it will be a bit longer before he will actually stop running away fully. I hope things will start to look up for him, my man has been digging his own grave for quite a while now.

Hana is great as always, prioritizing seafood over all else like usual

The problem with this show is that it has a good plot and has everything in place to feel sorry for the MC… except for the fact that the MC is so annoying and in need of a swift punch to the face that any proper character development is like pulling teeth

With how much time Sasaki spends running away, you'd think he was a harem protagonist or something. The story of how he got into debt is much appreciated, though. Now comes the question of what he's going to do now that Pink Naofumi's paid off his debt.

For someone who only has two years to live and a tumor in his head, Hiro sure can run. Although Hiro has had bad luck in his life, it’s also partly due to the bad decisions he made that led to his debts.

I think from here, Hiro might have some character development with the help of Takaaki, who is a really good person and seems to have suffered the loss of a loved one after hearing that Hiro didn't want to keep living.

the anime perfectly portrayed the mc being a sorrow loser through and through....in reality...guys like this have no saving and pay their debt by either salmon fishing or organ donating..or else the yakuza takes care of them....but let's see how the show saves him

Man, the people claiming the MC is annoying because he stressed by his life are really annoying. The man, homeless, has dept. has loan sharks after him, has a terminal illness. It's completely justify why he the way he is. But y'all just want him to treat his problem like there's nothing and whine about him being annoying?

Lord, learn so basic empathy.

Nah man as a penny stock trader this ep hit a lil too close to home because I can totally relate to the idea of basing your upcoming finances on anticipating a stock to go parabolic and it doesn’t and now you’re fucked. Hard lesson to learn but glad I learnt it in my 20s so I can grow from it.

It’s hard to see him being an asshole to people who are only trying to help him tho like Takaki got him a job, a place to live and been trying to get him into a new hobby and Hiro shutting him down and just being straight up rude when Takaki tried to cheer him up annoyed me.

Like you’re in the wrong for the financial mistakes, own it, don’t run from the debt collectors just try and make a payment plan even if it’s only 1000 yen a week, it’s better than running and not paying anything. I hope he grows up sooner rather than later because even if you’re terminally ill you don’t need to be an asshole to people who just wanna help you

I could smell from literally episode one that our sweet boy Takaaki has a back story that's gonna ruin me....and we got a couple glimpses of that in this episode. patiently waiting for my heart to be ripped out 😭

i think the whole point is for Hiro to be a bit insufferable to begin with....if he wasn't there wouldn't be growth/development yinz

Agree with others saying OP is bad, hate it lol and right now MC is treading the line of being overly obnoxious to force drama.

The writing is a bit weak because it isn't believable that Tsutsujimori would just clear all MCs debts given how long they have known each other, very rushed writing.

Hana's funny reactions and the chill fishing parts are keeping me invested

Tsunehiro is such a pathetic loser on a level that's almost off-putting, in a fishing anime, of all things.

But I can see in him a bit of myself and even some people I know, so I can't bring myself to fully hate him...

Tsutsujimori is such a bro, but it's also on a level that's almost off-putting. But I've also seen some genuinely nice people that really put their trust on fellow humans and build them up... Tsunehiro is a lucky guy, I almost feel jealous.

While the OP grew on me somewhat, everyone else is still hating it lol, but I will say the chorus feels like there’s too much happening, like it’s more like noise than music, but the rest I like, maybe I’ll grow to like the whole thing eventually, I never skip so it might happen lol. And I’m ngl Tsunehiro was a bit hard to watch this episode, so we now know how he ended up in all that debt and why he ran from his college classmates, but to see him shoot down Takaaki like that hurt lol, bro’s just trying to help your ass but you’re too busy wallowing in your sadness, but at the same time I get why Tsunehiro’s like that, and I think that will make the development he gets that much better, also the running scene was hilarious so him running from debt collectors isn’t something I have as much issue with lol.

The fishing bits in this one were great tho, Hana’s reactions were golden, and I love that they kept handing the pole off for the supposed houndshark, only for it to be a ray and Hana is the only one still happy lol, money don’t mean a thing to her, fishing is life, and we like that. And thankfully Tsunehiro didn’t stay a stick in the mud, he took Takaaki’s help and is now working towards paying off the debt, I look forward to seeing how his life gets flipped around.

It's a new round of Hiro running from his problems although this time we get to see how it all came about. A chain of misfortunes and bad decisions has lead him to the point of trying to win 1M yen as well as running away from investors he won't be able to pay. But in such darkness Takaaki the bamf of the episode was there to try to get him back in his place. I wonder if we'll get to see his side of the story and when is he going to realize that Hiro really has a shorter life span than him.

Oh my god. Seriously, MC really need some character development. If i didn't see any progress until episode 6, I might drop this anime. People who says MC is annoying, do you guys don't get it? That's the whole point of the show

They make the MC like that to make a room for character development

Also MC being nuisance is justified, like 2 year lifespan? Big debt? Depressed? You would feels the same if you are on the same page, feeling like everything doesn't feel matter anymore.

This is the stuff I like; Friends just hanging and helping each other out. Never thought fishing would be cool either, anime is pretty good at making the mundane interesting.

I dont find the MC annoying. 2 years left to live and drowning in debt, I'd be pretty miserable too.

Fantastic Series so far. Interesting story where the greatest antagonist is the protagonist.
Tsunehiro is one of the worst folks in his own story and he knows it, and he's super doomed.
Character reminds me of my suicidal college dropout years over a decade ago. Thankfully no gambling problem or terminal illness.
Seeing him run away out of shame from his college friends broke my heart for him. That shit is real.
I laughed so hard at the flirty couple playing in water, I've been guilty of that as well.

Really enjoying how wholesome everyone around him is -even the college bros are looking out for Tsunehrio in their own way.
I'm interested in where this goes after the debt relief. How are things going to work out with Tsunehiros parents?
(I doubt they are worried about college at all when they learn tsunehiro is terminal)
How will Takaaki feel once he hears about the terminal illness tsunehiro's got?
This guy is so fragile, it will take a soft touch!

As someone who has made almost all of the same mistakes in my life; this episode was quite special to me. I remember the moment I stopped running from my problems. It was cathartic in a sense because it allowed me to reflect on where I was a year and a half ago to where I am now. I wouldn’t be where I am today without that first person to really intervene for me. He’s still my best friend and I owe him a lot.

Some may not like this episode but it has won me over to follow through for the season at a minimum.

I still wonder if Tsunehiro really has to die in two years or if he can get some treatment. We didn't get to hear everything the doc had to say after all.

Takaaki is legit a really awesome guy.
