it‘s the lack of animation that is so off putting, it feels like a webtoon with voice acting. i really hope that they are just saving the budget for the U20 match but that‘s just copium at that point

I heard the whole season will be similar but I hope not. Either way they were not going to match the manga’s art. It’s too good. Could’ve gotten close tho. After s1 ep 1 the quality dropped gradually. Sad to see

@Zant486 Then don't watch. Read the manga instead, it has some great art.

What exactly are people referring to when they talk about good or bad animation? I’m not trying to be funny, but how can you tell the difference if it’s not something obvious like The Seven Deadly Frames? I’ve seen that, so I know what bad animation looks like, but outside of that, most anime looks the same to me in terms of animation quality. Excluding studios like MAPPA, KyoAni, CloverWorks, and Doga Kobo, which clearly have talented animators with distinct styles, how can you tell when an anime’s animation is good or bad?

I didn't read up on anything that was Japan complaining. It's way overblown, and I'll die on the hill that I strongly believe that what we got in Season 2 is far superior to the later episodes of Season 1. Completely butchered the energy and hype of so many iconic scenes with lack luster animation and low effort CGI FOV, I'd take properly drawn still frames with a mix of CGI over that any day. People who are hyper analyzing every every scene can ruin even animes that many believed to be animated extremely well.

Genuinely, what the hell are you talking about? This is not "hyper analyzing", nobody has to pause to see what people are talking about, you just need to have, you know, eyes, and look at the screen.

πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜… then watch 3rd ep. next time, and see carefully, that they just voicing the pannels, their is not best animation scene in ep. 2. season 1 animations are much better then, the colored manga pannels.

I deadass defended Blue Lock's animation for season 1 (I still stand by it) but episode 2 is just a tragedy

I don't know why but not only are there so many still frames, but there are also so many animated cuts that just abruptly stop. it's like the animators forgot anticipation and release

This is not a problem of just animators. Clearly the production was already in a pickle and the staff is not able to do their best work. MartinKiings who worked on ep2 mentioned that his cuts for the episode were changed to be stills.

@Almightystoner Appeal to accomplishment fallacy. I don't need to know how to do a thing to realize it's not good.

Shitty argument on your part.

ah sorry if it isn't clear. mine was just an exaggeration. I don't actually think they did forget, just that it was LIKE they did :v

that's messed up though, changing a cut into a still. that's legit one of the worst outcomes that could have happened

sounds like most of their time was spent either not working on the project or on pre-production

@likhunglol No, Deen's seasons of Nanatsu were full of QUALITY during broadcast but not 90% stills and cgi.

I mean it' mostly still shots with some color added or whatever, but it's not the worst thing I've seen personally.
