| I can't say that I'm surprised that the remake isn't any good. Even putting aside the censorship the remake just lacks the charm of the original. The style feels really cheap and low quality. Though watching this has inspired me to dust off my DVD box set to rewatch the original. It's probably been 20 years since I last watched Ranma. |

| Finally have a time to watch this since i never even get the chance to see the origin. Already drop the main gist of the story right off the bat also appreciated. Thought the revelation going to prolong like two or three episodes, but its not. The oped so far are fine, but definitely catchy enough to my ears. Va so far doing a nice job and Mappa, perhaps needs to have more fun shows like this. All in all, not going to see the past seems like good choice, so this is it Ranma 1/2 first time experience, and i am gonna say this is fun. I may need to visit spice and wolf remake as well tho, ah well, let's see next! |

| I really dislike the Barbie doll censorship that they have for this. I think I'll rather wait and see if the BD has any censorship, however if it does I plan to just give this a skip. |
| ^ lol yeah went to go watch the first episode of the original right after this; and let's just say the original is more... detailed. Anyway, never watched a single episode of the original Ranma 1/2, didn't even know what the story was about, or what the "1/2" in the title meant. Welp, I think I know now. A bit weird, but definitely funny. There is a lot of potential for countless hilarious moments I think. I mean, the original has like 160 episodes right? It looks like a beloved show so I think they kept up the energy throughout it all. And maybe this new remake or remastered or whatever version will be just the same. Which, I gotta say. Really enjoyed this first episode. Went in completely blind, knowing nothing about the lore or anything. Dandadan, Orb: Movements of the Earth, and Blue Box are all airing on netflix right now, so sure let's add Ranma 1/2 to the mix which is also being released on netflix, and people seem to be saying good stuff about it. And yeah, what a blast. Not sure if we're going to get a lot of story elements from this or if it'll be an episodic week-to-week dose of fun for the most part, but I think it'll be fun either way. Hoping for it to be in-between the two though, somewhat. So yes I did go watch the original first episode, and yeah they have captured its essence really well I think. It's got fresh coat of paint but still pays homage very well to the original. Actually, it was pretty much spot-on shot-for-shot almost. Maybe calling it a remake is not entirely correct, but rather simply a re-master? Idk, I'll let others argue about that. I'll just say that it works really well and for someone who's never watched the original, I think it's really good but doesn't take away from said original. Watching that first episode from 1989, honestly I could go watch either one. But yeah I'll be watching this new one now for now at least since this is what everyone's watching. One thing that the original did better as far as this first episode goes is Akane slamming Ranma with the table. We get to see her actually picking it up and get more of an impact after. But yeah both are good and am really looking forward to experiencing this show and its characters for the first time. |

| Haha this was such a funny great first episode so that’s how Ranma can turn into a girl bro got cursed poor him bc no man wants to be a woman it’s something a straight man just can’t do so I feel for Ranma haha Akane is such a Tsundere but violent ass one she deadass hot my not with a goddamn table and it was funny to me how he actually got knocked out I thought that was just some comedic banter but bro was knocked out in the next scene hahaha, but Akane may be violent but I can tell she’s a nice girl she’s just gotta take some getting used to when it comes to Ranma😭 The animation is great as well MAPPA never disappoints when it comes to animation man, the fight so the Ranma and his dad was so fresh🔥🔥🔥 Putting all that aside i just wanna talk about Nabiki IS SO FINE HOLYYYYYYYY like I couldn’t stop staring at her ass and body every she was on the screen her hairstyle is makes her even 100x more finer she’s the best looking girl in this show already😩😩😩😩    |
