Most of the time this show had good character dynamics and witty dialogs but this one was quite wrong. What is rule #1 when listening to someone who stutter? Simple. Pretend you do not notice. Do not cut. Do not finish his lines. Do not show impatience. Just keep listening and let him finish. It is not easy, it takes time, but it will help tremendously and cure stutter to some degree. Paradoxical but you will help by not trying to help. Same with stage fright. Can not be cured by dry runs. Can not be cured by 'we are on schedule just send written report'. Only 'success' can help. And 'success' does not mean applause in that case - just acceptance without reprimand. Just let person to do it without interrupting, without looking with pity, without trying to take on a task yourself. So our protag boy did so wrong and resolution did not address anything. Komari is left with her problems and lowish self-esteem. |

Man, this show's vibe and aesthetic have singlehandedly raised the bar so high for me, that I don't think I can fully enjoy a show without this same level of visual quality. It's been a minute since I've smiled like an idiot because of an anime girl. |
I have read 2 perfect chapters of manga; They are Usogui Chapter 203 and Onani Master Kurosawa Chapter 23. |

Nice way to end off the adaptation, with next ep being an original. Hope that doesn’t hinder a S2 (Knowing A1, it’s probably fine) |

But to go, unnanounced, into a meeting and overstep whatever authority your friend has, is a step too far in my opinion. I would never dream of doing that to any of my friends and I would be extremely put off if any of my friends did that, especially after learning that it's something personal that I have to overcome.
It's less about showing support and more about thinking you're in the right, and that reads extremely out of character for Nukumizu. I didn't think that was something he would ever do.

I can kind of handwave away how "extreme" that move was to "being an anime", especially one that's been leaning hard into anime tropes, at that.
As for why Nukumizu had to do that, I think that move was intended to be out of character for Nukumizu. He obviously cares a lot about Komari, and his repeated offer to attend the meeting on her behalf was implied to be an attempt to protect her. Which is already "out of character," actually. At the meeting, he felt he had to do something, but he didn't exactly know what, and chose the obvious, over-the-top approach that doesn't even help her.
I don't think the show is characterizing that move as acceptable or smart, either. Anna calls him out on it, and Nukumizu himself admits that it was "out of line" and apologizes. And I think Komari lets him off the hook a bit because she knows she completely failed her goal already by the time Nukumizu entered the room.
Yeah, I guess you're right. I just got ticked off, cause I think the episode would have worked great even without Nukumizu taking it too far. Instead of crashing the meeting, show Komari having the realisation that she might have fucked up somewhere, go to the stairs scene and let everything else the same. The slap on the wrist for Nukumizu would have been his outburst at the zoo. EDIT: And then have him becoming Prez on the rooftop as a sign of him taking up on his half-hearted attempt of being responsible and keep the continuity. Still a great show though. |

That's what drama done right and realistically. Brilliant episode one of the best for sure. Komari's struggles are portrayed very well. Stage fright, unable to communicate with unknown people are very REAL problem introverts face. Still whole time both Nukumizu & Komari was stubborn and wrong. Komari wanted to solo the responsibility and Nukumizu wanted to take responsibility off her. Things became difficult after the spat at petting zoo(?). Yanami really pulled through as consultant again. Yeah 90% time she is just eating but sometimes she gave valuable wisdom like she gave to Nukumizu throughout this tough period. 4K otter is the best girl for a reason(alongside Komari) Kaju is by far the best imouto I have seen in anime. She has so few screentime but so adorable every time she has. She was also helpful in clearing her brother's head then. "Women Intuition" Even with Shikiya efforts Komari failed at club president meeting. She fumbling through the meeting was so hard to watch felt so horrible for her. What Nukumizu did was very rash and immature decision. Based on emotions and goodwill but it really did undermine Komari. Her reaction was very normal. Rooftop scene was peak. Just like the one from 1 and 4 episode with Yanami. Komari finally expressed her feelings through her writing. She weren't only tried to protect her club but the members too. Unlike Nukumizu she doesn't want to be alone. Nukumizu failed to understand that prior and that she is just a normal girl. But after he did, he was ready to fully support Komari and her writings which in turn is her actual feelings and passion also to make sure she will never be alone. "I will always stay with you" Nice going my man.. Yanami and Yakshio was also there to assure Komari she will have friends who will never leave her. Really good to see all of them backing eachother up. I mean Komari never really wanted this role. Her senpais gave her cause they they thought it's a place for her. In reality it's a burdan for her. People can't grow in a singular episode that fast. Nukumizu taking responsibility was the best call. Nukumizu acted very realistically and not so compotently as every other mc does. He made mistakes alienated Komari but he did patch things up in the end. That's what really makes him such a great lead. This Komari arc was easily the best part of the show. Komari and Nukumizu had lots of development. Yanami also was very helpful from background. Komari deserves lots of love I hope she keeps growing. Very good touch.. Only one episode left and it will be anime orginal. I hope it's not a bad sign. Give a somewhat satisfying ending while still doing S2 is all I can hope for. I am gonna miss these Saturday night Makeine enjoyment. |

No, I agree that young highschoolers are prone to doing young stuff. It's just that, to me, that particular incident feels like it's coming out of the blue from Nukumizu. If it was someone else, I wouldn't have batted an eye, but it feels weird to be him. He has demonstrated quite a bit of emotional maturity in previous episodes, especially when it comes to others, so that's why it felt a bit off to me. |

Oof, this episode hit way too hard. I was that socially awkward, anxious girl in high school with not many friends except those who were in a year above me. I relate so much to Komari-chan. I definitely feel like this plot line was written by someone who understands girls like us and that made it feel so genuine and heartfelt. |

Tbh, Komari getting nervous about speaking in front of a crowd is normal.
More importantly also involves this student council meeting. I think Komari just needs to develop better social skills as she seems to hae a hard time expressing herself. Nukumizu still has the play the role of a leader/life coach as usual. Although from the start, it looks like every character has their own flaws. We just get to see more of Komari's this time.

I dunno about this episode, man, I think it's a miss. Ever since the beach episode I feel like the show shifted and became about Komari, with other characters sprinkled in. (from what other replies I read in these forums, I think it has to do with the source material, and not opening new plot lines because they wouldn't had time to properly flesh them out, so they concentrated on what's already available and had time for, Komari's arc)
I feel like there's a limit to how much you can push a friend. I would 100% agree with anybody that what Nukumizu did at the zoo is extremely realistic. Hell, I pissed off a loved one cause I said something stupid and invalidated their entire effort too! The road to hell is paved with good intentions yada yada yada.

When they showed them outside the meeting I thought he would do something silly to alleviate Komari's tension or something, but that's not what happened, I'm getting pissed off just thinking about it now. In my opinion, Nukumizu should have faced way more consequences.
I don't know, my opinion.

@MTeyCFA but nukumizu is the mc he will be nosy that is his purpose and it is by being nosy that he will conquer the heroines, this part of the adapted volume was nukumizu's moment of catharsis there will be more moments like this |

While I'm still enjoying this show overall I'm not the biggest Komari fan as Nukumizu was just trying to help her out when he offered to handle the activity report and he was made out to be the bad guy. And just as I'm sure Nukumizu feared, Komari ended up being way out of her comfort zone while in that council meeting but at least she finally admitted that she never wanted to be president so Nukumizu stepped up but not before having a bottle of water tossed at him, SMH. Anyways, I'm curious to see how this series ends in the finale. |

You'll always be supported, Komari! I thought last week was the end of Komari's arc, but it seems like this is the final closure for her character arc, and how great it was! Like I said last week, I resonate with Komari's character a lot, but one thing that stood out about Komari was that she wasn't the type who likes to be alone, rather, she wants to be with others, but she's just not great at dealing with other people. Kazuhiko also did not do the right thing, stepping in for Komari, but that's what I like about this series, in that it's showing how imperfect everyone is at interpersonal communication, especially people of their age. Not going to lie, that last sequence with Komari on the staircase had me tearing up a little. The voice acting performance from Komari's VA has been excellent throughout the series. One thing that does concern me, is that next week, the finale, will be an original filler episode, as this episode adapted the finale of Volume 3. Does that mean there will be an anime original ending, or will it still set up a potential sequel. I guess we'll have to find that out another time... |

fcukkkk that was hard to watch, komari in that room. but i get it, i'm a pretty open person but public speaking is MAJOR stress even for me, so i sympathize with her completely. although i just wanna give up at the earliest opportunity, she's better than me for that. nukumizu's pov makes sense as well, which is why i thought this wrapped up really nicely, along with the rest of the gang. kaju was helpful as well. W for yanami losing 2 kilos (but gaining 1 lol) and the episode was just cinema, really sad to see it end next week. |

Yeah, it was strange to see Komari struggle like this again, after the conclusion to her "arc" that felt pretty final in the last episode.
I think the issue this time around was that there are still some things that she should handle by herself no matter what, even if she may get some help from time to time, like she did during the cultural festival.
She was extremely stubborn about it, though, which was the weirdest part. Shouldn't she be at least a little bit open to the idea of delegating the public speaking??
@perseii that was just a conclusion to one of her struggles, doesn't mean it's all sunshine and rainbows after that. you keep saying things like she should this and she should that, but that's exactly the problem the episode is addressing. you can force your ideas all you want on a person, and she clearly tried, but if it doesn't work, it doesn't work. some people are just like that. |

Makeine never fails, every episode is always amazing and this is the best anime episode of the season for me. episode 11 is the last episode based on the LN source and episode 12 will be an anime canon filler episode. You should be careful if an anime episode doesn't feature an opening song because that episode will be something extraordinary will happen. Komari wants to show that she can be alone because she believes that only she can continue this club and she believes that other people must have their own busy lives, Komari is just afraid of being alone so Nukkun wants to help Komari and let her do what Komari can't do but Komari still wants to do what she thinks people expect her to do. Kaju again and again showed that she is the BEST IMOUTO THIS WEEK EVEN THIS YEAR, Kaju knows what her brother needs right now, Nukkun said he wants Kaju to be Kaju as she is, and Kaju reminded her brother what her brother wants the "girl" to be, Nukkun realized what he wants to do right now, Kaju is the top tier character for this show imo. Kaju with a woman's intuition knows what her brother is going through especially Kaju is the one who understands how her brother really is. The meeting started, Komari could not explain what she wanted to say and the situation was not good for Komari and in the end Komari really could not say anything. Nukkun said that what happened to Komari would be forgotten in 2-3 days for others but for Komari this incident would make her remember it over and over again so Nukkun came in and said that she was the President of the literature club, even though Nukkun did not do anything that looked good for what people would see in Komari but Nukkun had done something good for Komari in the future. Put aside the matter of Anna where she would eat and eat and eat but, Anna as always was there for Nukkun every situation she was in and helped her to get through this, because Anna (including Kaju) was the one who knew best how Nukkun was. Komari is scared of being alone so she wants to be able to do this all by herself because she knows everything will go away so she hopes not to be kind to Komari more than what Nukkun has done for Komari. Nukkun realized that Komari was not the same as him where Nukkun liked to be alone not with Komari who could be sad if she couldn't always be together, Komari was just an normal girl. Nukkun said that she would be by Komari's side because Nukkun did not want Komari to say that she was alone, Lemon also said that Komari was not alone because they would all always be Komari's friends. Ending with Nukkun's chat saying that he will always be by Komari's side, Nukkun can also be as innocent as the boys in this show. The visual ending changes as Komari has changed her views on Nukkun and can put more weight on Nukkun in the future, by showing the visual of Komari looking back at Nukkun that Komari has put her trust in Nukkun and it is very cute. Terasawa Momoka succeeded in putting Komari's characteristics in this anime, she managed to play this introverted character, I really like her voice. I LOVE KOMARI SO MUCHHH since I put Komari as my favorite heroine and I have no regrets for liking her character and of all the heroine arcs this is my favorite. now just waiting for what will be given to us what will happen in the next episode since the author (Takibi Amamori) will make a canon filler finale episode. |

Underappreciative moment is Yanami's maturity during a serious moment. For how comical she can get when it comes to food, she's really down to Earth with Nuku. It's a big part of why I think they have the best dynamic in the series. |

I know it got resolved but the stuff about the club president meeting annoyed me. It's fair enough that Komari wanted a chance and she did make an effort but in the end she fucked it, she then has the audacity to get angry at Nukumizu for trying to salvage the situation. You could say that him swooping in is humiliating but I think that all the possible damage had already been done. In the end this isn't really important and the episode was definitely good but I just got fixated on this and needed to vent. |

I got to be honest here, and I know I’ll get a lot of hate from people here but Komari was in the wrong here. She has a responsibility as a club president to do, Nukumizu knows she wasnt cut out for it, Komari has her strengths, sadly speaking infront of a crowd aint it, think about it, if she couldnt even say it properly to one person that she’s already close to, how in the f is she gonna do it to a bunch of strangers? And now because she couldnt deal with that fact, she fumbled and wasted everyones time in the meeting and put their club at risk for not being able to do her job which is reporting their club activity. Nukumizu was being realistic and logical the whole time, Komari’s at fault for wanting to do everything by herself. Whats worst is she made a scene and threw a bottle of water at Nukumizu. I know people think this is Komari’s problem and is something personal to her but it isnt, there are other people besides her in the club, and there’s a job that needs to be done. Nukumizu’s a good guy, I swear if I were in his shoes I would have left Komari to self destruct then and there while thinking “I told you so” or “serves you right btch” On a positive note Im glad Yanami was being a bro to Nukumizu from the start, she was the only saving factor this ep. |

@LordCrueltyV At first I was going to say that these impulses happen for a reason, no matter how stupid they may be, and I couldn't find any reason for him to jump in unless he really cared about that activity report. But thinking about it from the perspective of him doing this to forcefully claim the president role in a way that can't be denied by stating it in front of everyone, I can see where he's coming from because he doesn't want to see her in pain in the future. |

Man, this episode was just pain. Not in that is was bad, but it just hurt every moment of it. To be honest, I couldn't exactly connect with Komari a lot of the times, but the anime was still able to convey her struggles in a way that hit me emotionally. I'm really glad that they had that moment on the staircase where they had the heart-to-heart. I wish they could've had that before the president's meeting, but the mess that it created made sure that Komari would just let everything out. Also, that moment of realization where the messages were sent in the group chat was so hard-hitting, even more when I realized that the senpai had also read it. But one thing that has pained me while watching all of Komari's arc is how often it's just her and Nuku. It actually did feel somewhat isolating, so I could understand why Komari felt like she was alone because oftentimes they were alone. It felt like once this arc started, the Literature Club started hanging out a lot less than before, just to give these 2 some time together, which felt a little bit cheap, but they still got me in the feels. |

@ryzxgum I'm not talking about how she should or shouldn't have gone about it, and I'm not saying everything should be fine with her now. I'm just saying that in the last episode she's already dealt with this specific issue, or at least she's understood how she should work on this issue moving forward. Unless I've misunderstood her arc so far, by the end of the cultural festival Komari realized quite a few things. - She doesn't have to shoulder all of her responsibilities by herself, whether it's her duties as club president or just life in general. - She thought she doesn't even have anyone to help her, but she had a ton of people pitching in for the club exhibit. At the very least, she sees a friend in Nukumizu, with whom she feels at ease and shares her problems. - She resolves to move forward past her loneliness and heartbreak, and feels grateful for the senpais and the club they left behind. In this episode, basically every point above got reversed and appeared unresolved. She still tried to take on the club president duties herself, she still claimed she was all alone, and she still was afraid of senpais leaving her behind. Yes, people can "regress," but not in the very next episode. Besides, the show didn't really characterize this as Komari regressing. Even if she has trouble living up to her new perspective and resolve from the last episode, she doesn't even seem to be trying to or even aware..? She never goes, "maybe I'm not alone, just last week a bunch of people helped me," or something. The more I think about this, the less it makes sense. It's like the episodes are out of order?? I really like Komari and her character development, but it's just strange how this episode played out. |

the best episode of this anime and great conclusion to komari's arc. great narrative--i sympathize with her struggle to become a better person in the wake of her presidency as she dealt with social anxiety + some sort of imposter syndrome. though i do feel only slightly conflicted about her giving up her exec role in the club. nukumizu definitely came on too strong overall and serious props to A-1 for the animation and backdrops here, my goodness! |

I haven't watched many anime but that was the best comparison between social anxiety and introversion i've seen in entertainment, many people tend to confuse the two. Yanami and Kaju really shined in the gloomy day, without their push Nukumizu would have kept hesitating...Kaju is a beacon of hope while Yanami-chan is like the engine of the club despite rarely going there...So they saved the day as always :) |

Komari-chan has me at this point pissed me off quite a bit, I felt the story and her resolution of the festival and quite liked it, but now we have to deal with another issue that involves her character that seemingly hasn't managed to grow AT ALL. Went straight back to who she was before the festival, thereby I deem her a SHIT character who is just pissing me off by now. It soured the entire episode just seeing the first 3min of her bitching again.
@Blackwolf1261 She did grow though, the resolution of the previous episode still makes sense, the point of the episode is that she tried to be the club president despite NOT wanting to, she just wants a place to belong, so she tried to preserve it despite her fears. She learned to trust others in the previous episode and in this one she learned that they would not leave, Nukumizu did the right thing. |

Ngl everyone I dislike komari..... A lot...... like a lot a lot
Why? I have a feeling you are like those people from the student council who'd put unnecessary pressure on an introvert with social anxiety. Komari is a very real character as in she represents a lot of people who have that problem. And that is exasperated by folks like the student council who had no compassion/patience. |

@perseii I suggest rewatching the ending parts of the previous episode, she still had doubts in her face. She knew that they were there for her but she felt that they would leave her sooner or later, like the senpais, in fact Nukumizu talks about the chance of it happening at the end of this episode |

@perseii the trigger for her stubbornly wanting to work alone was because nukumizu (the person she sees a friend in) made her feel useless during the scene at the park when she was really giving it her all. she knows she has support for some things and that's why she was trying to practice with him but imagine how useless you must feel if you're just the president in name, but everyone around you does everything. she can be grateful of her senpais and still feel afraid of them leaving. the texting scene where she says she has to do everything all alone is a bit far-fetched but i feel like she just got too emotional at that point and said that, but everything else made enough sense and feels human. |

This episode is another masterpiece easily. I thought the episode had a lot of adorable moments. I am unsure how to feel about the mc's relation with Komari. She is cute, but her competition is top of the line with yanami. I doubt Lemon will finish 1st in the long run though she is great too. I doubt the story will get the mc to chose so it really is not relevant. I give the mc credit for his honesty with Komari. He is pretty brave to not just ignore all those red flags in a training arc. |

With the Senpais gone, Komari assumes the new presidential leadership position of the Literature Club, but her being a one-girl show isn't enough, and bringing her to the animal farm to improve on her social anxiety alongside Anna helps somewhat. Of course, Nukumizu could tap in if she needs help, but that's not what Komari wanted, and she's undoubtedly forced into the role whether she likes it or (clearly) not. Anna still being a glutton, but being more controlling of her meals now is a surprise to lose weight, as she tries to get Nukumizu to see the situation from Komari's POV and not force his ideals on her, which is exactly what he did to piss her off. And while he did not do that with Kaju, at least he knows what he's doing with Komari, he's to blame for that. The student council's presentation meeting on their activity report, Komari is clearly feeling the pinch, and while Nukumizu steps in to precede on her behalf, it only took a worse turn than before that almost completely annihilated their friendship. Komari knowing that without the Senpais, she has to take on the mantle herself, and it's not an easy job when stakes are this high, and what Nukumizu thought that he and Komari are the same, the truth is that they're not, and the worries that she displayed it all in the group chat got both Anna and Lemon's attention enough to show her affection, that she's not alone in this regard. Nukumizu assuming the responsibility of the "new" president of the Literature Club, what a twist to come around for Komari. At least she's not alone now. |

The art in this anime is amazing. I had to pause when they went to the zoo because the chairs Nuku and Anna sat in looked so real. Komari isn’t my favorite character but I still wish she would have stayed as president. What was the point of putting her through that anxious moment when the baton was going to get passed over to Nuku in the end? The hardest part is over. Ah well, I’m sure she’ll make a good vp. That smile at the end was precious. 🥺 I wish we would have seen more of Shikiya. She was such an interesting character. A pastel ghoul. 😂 |
