| Just when everything seemed to be going perfectly, they really tried to tease in a sad mom story to make me feel sorry for her. I'm already on edge about Makoto and Ryuuji's shaky relationship, and then there's Aoi... god man, poor thing. I can't even imagine what kind of trauma the author must have experienced to write something like this because FUCK MAN. What an emotional rollercoaster of an episode. |

| “I was sure that at least my mom cared about me” “She wouldn’t have abandoned me for 10 years” Fuck man, this hurt so much. Aoi feeling completely isolated with her dad being gone and not paying attention, her mom seemingly passing her by.. with all the positive stuff going on between Makoto and Ryuji lately you almost feel bad for celebrating and being happy. I’m sure her dad’s obsession with his work probably led to a rift with her mom and it seems like Aoi’s mom does genuinely wanna get back in her life, but she’s probably just as nervous as her daughter. My heart also breaks for Ryuji though walking into that scene with Makoto and Aoi and misinterpreting things. I hate hearing him question if there’s something weird with him and being so down on himself in the episode. The insecurity about his sexuality is so sad but something a lot of people go through irl and I like how the story presents that in a believable and respectful manner The Christmas amusement park date started out really sweet but again Ryuji’s insecurities rearing their ugly head and hearing him talk about how it would be gross for two guys to get the couple discount was sad. Yea, it gave us some cute Makoto looks, but knowing that came from a place of self loathing diminishes the moment. I am glad they went to get Aoi and get her involved in things knowing how lonely she must have felt during the holidays alone. Felt like old times, but there’s still that rift you could tell was growing wider and wider between Ryuji and Makoto culminating in that breakup scene at the end. I didn’t think it would be Ryuji to end it.. “You’re grossed out. Man I’m so gross.” Couldn’t be further from the truth.. poor thing needs the biggest hug |

| Ohhhh I feel like throwing up, that final scene hurt so bad. Man. Obviously things were never gonna work out between them, but... man. Ryuuji wanting that one final moment holding Makoto's hand before he gives up forever to last as long as possible felt painfully vulnerable and sad. He's such a good guy and breaking up by this point was the most sensible thing he could've done, I'm glad he had the strength to do so before hurting himself and Makoto more in the long run. Still, wow I feel horrible for him and everything he's had to go through, during his entire sexuality crisis and especially in this episode. Hopefully he's able to find some sort of happiness and self-acceptance by the end of this story, he's way too hard on himself and way too kind for his own good. Dude really deserves to be loved by someone who actually understands and accepts him. |

That "goal!" moment really makes me want to ship them as a threesome now. They're all a bit broken but each pair does something to make things better, and they seem happiest when all together.

| Man, this is probably the anime that's managed to wring the most emotion out of me this year, but watching this episode was particularly painful. Aoi crying for her mom was sad, but I'm glad she was at least able to verbalize her frustrations to someone. I had to pause out of dread at the scene when Ryuuji saw Aoi and Makoto hugging. That was too coincidental for my liking, but wow, Ryuuji, best boy, again taking one for the team and lying so Makoto could help Aoi. Makoto's not at fault at all for not liking Ryuuji back, but I'm really frustrated at his inability to speak out his honest thoughts. Understandable, to a certain extent, since he's had to hide his love for girly things from his mom his entire life, but still - right when Ryuuji needed it the most, he didn't try to reassure Ryuuji that he wasn't disgusting, and now Ryuuji will continue having his internalized homophobia. He deserves better than this. Tbh, at this rate I hope the end game is either a throuple, Ryuuji and Aoi (pretty much impossible), or no one ending up together. But if I had to guess, I feel like either Makoto and Aoi (#1 most likely) or no couple are the only probable endings here. |

| Everyone hurts :c One part of me wanted things with Makoto and Ryuji to work out but the other part of me thinks Ryuji just has a long going crush and is having a hard time dealing with realizing he is bisexual while Makoto just seemed like he was mainly doing a favour to his friend, and Id hope Aoi could feel loved enough because she seems the most broken up like she seems close to killing herself past few episodes. I get how of them feel on some way or another. |

| I lived for best boy Ryuji x Makoto, so this was a devastating ending. The only solution honestly is for all three to be together poly cause Makoto has two hands, and honestly this is so tough to watch |

| Stage 1: FUCK Stage 2: Happy Tears Stage 3: FUCK Pretty much the stages I went through this episode. Can't believe that was actually really Aoi's mom. Despite leaving for 10 years, I really hope she does come back, now more than ever, Aoi needs her. Oh, Aoi's father loves whales and his job is related to them. I get now why Aoi reacted the way she did when Makoto gave her a whale keychain a few episodes ago, fuck. Definitely winced when I knew Ryuuji was gonna walk in on Makoto and Aoi, nothin but L's for our boy. Man, seeing the three of them together again made me really happy, I even teared up a little. Screw the ships, just have the three of them be best friends forever! Ah fuck, but this is for the best, knowing how Makoto really feels, better to end it now. I hope they can go back to being regular ol' friends. |

| Aoi's grandmother is luckily fine and resting in the hospital, but a Christmas where she's completely alone without parental figures, it feels as if that she needs to chase after them, especially with the whizz of her mother in a taxi. Ryuji dressing for the occasion, and so too is Makoto, but Aoi is clearly not in the mood to celebrate because her mother just didn't care for her, even leaving her abandoned for 10 whole years. Even Ryuji having to question his sexuality of loving someone of the same sex is also quite concerning, and seeing them both hug out of care already causes a potential for misunderstanding. Clearly, Aoi's mother waiting for her own daughter to come after her, it's just selfishness on an adult level. Aoi clearly needs Makoto now, despite his plans with Ryuji, and things between the trio have degraded to a point where secrets can't be shared. Even then, Makoto still cares for Ryuji, even getting a present for him, despite the worrisomeness of both guys over Christmas Eve, and Christmas...is a couple affair that Ryuji has second thoughts lols. That's where Makoto dons his crossdressing trait to actually befit them being a normal couple, but it's obvious that they're concerned for Aoi as well to take her out...on a mountainous trip to see a meteor shower. The trio hanging out together has been a long time coming... Ryuji getting too close for comfort trying to smooch Makoto while he's asleep, and the latter thinking about Aoi, the bisexual relationship is cracking from within, pondering the former to have second thoughts even though Ryuji is completely fine loving his best friend the way he is. This episode was a whiplash of emotions, truly questioning if love can push boundaries on their own terms, |

| Pretty sure were close to the end of the manga but could be wrong, So good to finally see the group back together they have a good dynamic. I cant say Saki has a good mother cause man she literally abandoned her. But the fact her mother does seem to want to reconcile with her daughter is good. Its pretty obvious were this is going even if they don't end up dating its obvious that Makoto is falling for Saki or at least feels some affection for her and Ryuuji and Makoto breaking up was also pretty obvious but it was still sad to see. Idk if this is intentional but I feel like we have been seeing less of Makoto dressed up as a girl, I wonder why Saki is definitely the best character for me in the show and Imo the best written character. She feels very realistic |
| this anime is rated abysmally low. it's been a long time since i've cared about every character this much. aoi, ryuji, and makoto are all extremely believable and compelling characters. you could pluck them out of the anime and put them in real life, and i'd be none the wiser |

| yall i dont think makoto is exactly grossed out by their relationship with ryuuji. In the first place I think them "going out" with our boi was a stopgap to fix their relationship, but in reality makoto never really likes ryuji in that way. Hence ryuji questioning throughout the episode whether makoto really liked him and the "what ifs" if either one of them was a girl. so when ryuji instigated physical intimacy like him waking up or leaning in close to kiss makoto in the final scene, makoto had no heart to reciprocate those because in the first place, they only saw ryuji as a friend. overall one of the saddest but most impactful arcs of this series barring the end. cant wait to see the next episode next week |

Kinda makes sense looking back since Makoto had never seemed to display any romantic feelings towards Ryuji even after they started "dating", only saw him getting embarrassed or awkward most of the time... And that final "Ryuji, stop/you can't!" must have hit real hard for Ryuji... |
