Seeing and hearing about Kang Horyang's past was not on my bingo card. Idk why but this episode had some random cases of storytelling appearing out of nowhere. I didn't care about Horyang at all until now. He seems curious about Viole and his monstrous power though.

Looking deeper into his past, there's definitely some weird shit going on especially the part about experimentation. That mad scientist Maddox or whatever was just cruel. But yeah, this season's storytelling feels all over the place.

it's getting the seven deadly sins treatment with animation which look like they were made in MS Paint. Shame what this studio did with the show which has a great story and a great season 1

hopefully this is at least a 24-episode run so they can slow things down like this episode.

Was a much better watch than the garbage last week.

Actually understood what was going on and some decent backstory.

For Khun to learn that Bam is still alive, it can't be just a bait and ploy, and with the help of his teammates, locates him in no time at all. But the person is not Horyang, but it's someone even more fearful.

The Devil of the Left Arm, No. 21 Beniamino Cassano, he and Right Arm No. 99 Horyang (Ilmar as he is back then) share similarities being abandoned orphans and test subjects for the Workshop, though Sophia was the one researcher that kept them sane as humans and even gave them names to begin with. But with the ezperimention to become Living Ignition Weapons with the will of head researcher Maddox, a new fate was given to them being Devils of respective arms before being granted into the Tower from the Master himself, thus bringing him to where he is right now. But whatever, it's a yelp that Yihwa can't exactly cook, and everyone tries to feign ignorance avoiding her food as much as possible.

Viole vs. Horyang, it certainly was a battle incoming being Living Ignition Weapons to get the truth he needed if FUG was ever involved in the experiment, but all he only knew was a unknown power granted to him, which is almost similar to Horyang's case, only being forced to make a decision. That alone determines Horyang's path ahead to meet his other half friend of Cassano, and Khun's party is heading in the same direction as well.

A friend-cum-devil, how fearful is Cassano?

Fairs this was actually a solid episode. I think the ones that don’t have action are probably the best because you don’t see the God awful production values. Ilmar and Cassano backstory was tragic, feel awful for them and Sophia.. I hope she didn’t end up dying.

Sucks that the gang breaks up as soon as bam started smiling and feeling at home again :/ it’s interesting to learn he also has the living weapon stuff in him as well. That explains some of the personality changes he’s had since Ilmar said it changed them physically and mentally.

Khun and Ilmar meeting should be dope, hopefully that leads to Bam seeing him again as well, it’s been too long.

Welp, another one of my favorite ToG quotes, butchered just like that...iykyk.

Okay episode, better than the previous one. Always nice to get some character background and worldbuilding...though I could still barely feel the impact of anything due to the lackluster directing and animation. The OSTs and VAs are seriously carrying everything. Happy to see ponytail Khun, at least.

Despite a backstory being told I felt nothing for this character. I'm surprised he didn't mention this workshop human testing backstory earlier. Like its been two years and he never mentioned any of this.

Child experimentation + Kevin Penkin's music? There's no better combination than that.

Overall, miles better than last week's episode but still nothing to write home about. Horyang's character exploration was somewhat interesting tho.

I’m with others here in regards to this being a good episode, and even what little bit of action there was looked decent enough, but of course it still leaves something to be desired as always. That being said, I enjoyed finally learning what this Kang guy is about, he’s definitely the oddest fella in the group not counting Viole, but Viole doesn’t seem quite as odd since we know his backstory already lol, so I like getting to learn more about Kang, and his backstory was definitely an upsetting one, man went by a number before getting a proper name, and his cute teacher that treated him like a person along with his pal Cassano up and disappeared, I was waiting for it to be revealed that she was taken out back but we were spared that at least lol.

And to top it off, lad went through a lot of pain after being infused with a devil thing and hasn’t been able to see Cassano after all this time, which takes us to now where Kang is deciding to take off to see Cassano himself without the rest of the gang, pretty unfortunate after they all agreed to go and Viole was even enjoying himself for once, but yeah go ahead and split up, that’s a good idea lol. It is what it is tho, I’m sure the gang will go on a rescue mission and meet up with Kang after he gets himself in trouble, this will somehow involve Khun and his gang too which sounds interesting, hopefully it’ll be a fun one next time.

A lot of information for one episode. The pacing of this season is absolutely horrible...

Thinking about it, this was the least bad episode so far. Or rather, the least shitty episode.

I'd probably be more into the devil guy if we got some of this detail earlier. I feel like we barely know this cast. It doesn't help that they've been around each other for 2 years and yet it feels the same as when they first assembled. Not enough time has been put in for me to get a feel for the new cast. Meanwhile, much of last season's group felt so much stronger and more memorable by this time.

Episode was decent. I liked getting Kang’s backstory and seeing the parallels to Bam’s. However the fight scenes continue to be very lacking. I don’t know why, but it seems like with every final punch, we need to zoom out to see the explosion instead of the impact of the blow. (7/10)

I was surprised to get background information on Kang but too bad it didn't happen earlier and also it's a shame that he decided to leave the group. I'm assuming that Bam will be following him and perhaps they will be able to help out Cassano out since he's apparently a target for Khun and his group.

Not sure if I missed something but I'm wondering why Khun and his group are hunting down Cassano unless he did something wrong because Kang seems to be pretty chill so far and has only used his power when needed.

Because of the pacing and direction of the season everything feels weightless. Although the backstory present this episode awesome it has no weight or feeling attached to it. I don't know it just feel odd .

They used all the episode budget to make the particle animation on the devil's arm guy.

And all the season budget on the opening and ending, at least is what it feels like.

Ah yes, lets give this side character a backstory after 8 episodes just for him to leave on the same episode. What was the point of that? Also, will we have to see the dumb comedy bs with Yihwa and her dogshit cooking every single episode? Idk how tf they keep consistently making bad episodes.

@GTRaijin LMAO the Yihwa cooking gimmick is annoying me as well. Her being so bad at cooking is shown in like, 2 small panels in the entire manhwa. I dunno why they keep spending so much time on it when it's not even funny and there are way more important scenes/dialogue they skipped and should've adapted instead. I mean, I kinda understand what they're trying to do here with the anime-original scene (trying to make up for all the Sweet and Sour Team character interactions they'd skipped previously?), but it fails cause this season overall just seriously sucks at doing comedy.

Yeah, feels like they are just trying to do less of the important things and fights and just more of random shit. I just hope this doesn't have 24 episodes cuz idk wtf can you do for that many episodes when there's barely any effort put in in anything. They basically spent all of the budget on VAs and music ;d since it was obvious from the first episodes, meanwhile a lot of new anime these days usually run out of budget/production quality goes down hard after like 5-6 episodes.

I didn't expect Horyang's backstory to be like that. The Tower and its inhabitants never cease to surprise me with how harsh and horrifying they can be. Horyang (Ilmar) and Cassano had a terrible childhood as human experiments, and their story was interesting, helping to expand on the dark organizations within the Tower. It even parallels Baam's integration into FUG, as he might also be a living ignition weapon, though nothing is confirmed yet. What worries me is that just as Baam had Rachel and we know how things ended there, Horyang might suffer some betrayal from Cassano.

A good and solid episode; it's incredible that other episodes with more action are inferior to this one. It really shows when there aren't as many production and direction issues. I hope things continue like this or even improve from this episode onward. Also, I hope they don't just develop Horyang; the rest of the group seems interesting but lacks development, which makes their moments as a team less engaging due to their lack of depth.

This was actually a good episode quality was decent overall I have read the whole season 2 of manhwa so this was really well paced and didn't felt rush. There were no abrupt cut and songs were placed really well not like other episode where randomly scene cuts or randomly songs starts and cuts. This is where the show will pick up it's pace things will go crazy after this. Next episodes are very action heavy so I don't know what will be the quality this arc is very long in manhwa and can easily go 4 seasons if it's just 12eps

Kang is really cool, I like him, probably the best character this season.
It has been 7 years since Bam's death, considering he trained for like 2 years, he has spent more time in this team than in his original one, he should like these guys way more by now.

When Horyang gives 'we are like a family' talk I almost closed the episode. What family? You’re together for two years and we didn’t see any kind of moment indicating you’re close as a group. At most 3 people actually close in my eyes. We dont know anything about most of them and not even others characters know. Even in the first season the friendship was believable, I was able to tell even in a week they start to care about each other but ot this season

@SenpaiTM I really hope this season does well. I finally started reading ahead, and I was floored with how great this story becomes. The way it expands & the near limitless possibilities of story threads feel like an even more impressive One Piece. Like the lore, world-building, characters remind me of One Piece, only the characters are more mature, the story is better paced, and it sidesteps many of the shounen tropes (because it's a manhwa lol).

It would be a damn shame if this doesn't continue with many more seasons. It's becomes so epic, and I NEED to see certain fights animated!

So Kang Horyang’s given name is Ilmar Beniamino and his brother is Cassano Beniamino. They were experimented on in the Workshop and essentially became the Twin Devils.

And of course Wangnan and the others won’t hesitate to help him find Cassano, while Khun’s group is looking to take him out. What has made him so popular among everyone. Does Khun believe Emile when she says Bam is alive (in which he should since that is the truth).

Due to Kang not wanting to get everyone else involved in this mess, he has chosen to leave despite Viole’s push back.

Will the group find out the truth since Viole hid it from them?
