So Suou is Masachika's sister. They did look quite similar, but they must have different fathers or be half-siblings since they don't share the same surname. I like how extroverted and mischievous Suou is, especially when she teases Alya.

Poor Alya had a tough time in this episode; I imagine all that spiciness sent her straight to the bathroom. And the embarrassment she felt at the end while showing her new clothes must have been overwhelming.

The ED drove me crazy; hearing 'Kawaikute Gomen' again is always a treat.

pure kino again. suou is hilarious and i'm loving her VA, wincest lmfaoo that was a good twist. the face alya pulls when she's stumped is also hilarious. the 3 main characters are all very enjoyable so far. the fanservice is not too much but just enough, the clothes changing scene reminded me of fire punch oddly enough lol. the OP and ED slap, solid visuals and doga kobokeeps killing it.

...not a bad series thus far! If the brother/sister $hit gets too weird, I might drop/ we'll see. So far, a fun blend of rom-com/ecchi/SOL with some decent animation and fluff story. Bubbling ramen and fashion show scenes were sweet.

I normally don't like chibi-form incorporated that much in shows. Apothecary Diaries was fine, Demonslayer overuse sometimes, and for too long. I am liking Alya's chibi tho. 👍

Yuki's outfit was way better in the manga

Also we are like 24 chapters in in just 2 episodes?
@rilo03 6 chapters.

Now that's a twist I didn't see coming. What a cultured little sister!

Yuki is such a gremlin, I love her. And I thought Alya was easily going to be best girl haha.

That said, Alya is still as beautiful, hot and cute as ever. That fashion show (with fanservice included) was great and those O.O faces were hilarious.

I'm loving the show so far. I need more!

Alisa is one of the most Japanese girls I have ever seen. Just building 2 Russian sentences doesn't make a character Russian. Maybe she was born in Tokyo's Moscow street or something?

I was already expecting Yuki to be devious, but that's what's attractive about her, she can go from, this polite rich girl, to this devious otaku, I can relate to her

Yuki's "Hah, what a baby!" is such a chuunibyou line. I like it.

The ending was unexpected, when it played I was like , "She made a cover?!"

Just gonna leave this one here🤫

This show would have been really wholesome and cute if there wasn't any fan service. NGL they just ruined the show for me. Like fr this would have been the best romance of the season if it wasn't forced like that. Now I can't look at Alya the same way cuz of allat since episode 1. Like IK it wasn't that much of a fan service cuz there are hundreds of other series which shows more, but on a show like this? I thought it would tone the fan service down to none to make it cute and wholesome.

You might think oh I'm just overreacting or lewd to the point I criticize this bit, but when I watch the show & saw that it had fan service, my smile & mood literally faded to a disgusted tone, cuz before the characters
were doing funny, cute, & wholesome things all to be ruined by the fan service.

Ending song make me surprise, i never thought there's a cover of Kawaiikute Gomen here
@cuhoangdk Yes, me too! It's Honeyworks. That song was really popular when it first came out. There are a lot of covers, especially from vtubers.

Besides, It's great that Alya's Russian sounds more natural than it did on the last EP. Instead of intentionally making it sound clear and standard, the volume and pitch don't vary much from her Japanese speaking voice too like it did on the last EP. And huhu... she found out Suou might be going to Kuze's house. I wonder what'll happen...

Oops, I almost forgot to mention Suou. Her other identity & side are very unexpected, and her real character is easily likable. It is really interesting and funny to see how she teases Kuze. I also like the gap between her vice-president side and her casual side.

Actually really refreshing that the main character didn't wet himself over the little fashion show and instead it was the chick this time who got flustered because of how enthusiastic he was about it. So far every time Alya's tried to tease Masachika this way it's blown up in her face.

Alya's a little bland so far in terms of personality, but still absolutely adorable.

I don't understand the point of hiding they're siblings and the incest thing isn't my bag, but I have to admit Yuki as a hellraising little sister causing her bro and Alya grief instead of being shiny nice school friend was a much more entertaining dynamic.

Definitely wasn’t expecting the reveal of Suou being Kuze’s little sister, so she’s just putting on an act at school and around Alya, she’s dedicated, I’ll give her that. And wow is her personality different when she’s in little sister mode, but she’s certainly not a normal little sister, hearing her opinion on incest romance and her little wake up routine with Kuze shows she’s after this man like Alya and it’s not simply the childhood friend deal it appeared to be before, tho I am into this development lol, if she isn’t a sibling then there’s no bling after all.

And of course this episode had lots of good Alya moments, it was super cute seeing her enjoy that ice cream after she tried pushing through some incredibly spicy food, and the dress-up sequence was quite amazing, they even went and showed her whole ass which i unfortunately can’t say for another show this season (I’m talking about 2.5 Dimensional Seduction) and I’d say that show is more my speed than this one, I just gotta give credit where it’s due tho lol. And the dress-up session was just so much fun that Alya got carried away and ended up showing Suou that massive boob window, a great end to that bit. And I think it’s pretty obvious that Kuze is gonna end up helping Alya with her election, I’m sure it will lead to some great moments but I was also hoping he’d stick to his guns, oh well, I can forgive doing it for a cute babe lol.

And it looks like we got another new ED this week, and it’s apparently a cover of a HoneyWorks song, that’s really cool, so I’m guessing this will be like Takagi-san with different covers every week, I’m down for that.

Great episode. I already suspected they were siblings last episode since they have the same hair color, but it is pretty seeing their dynamic. I did a double-take when the ending started, did not expect it at all, but it fits.

I know the anime is overrated, but it's nonetheless cute. So the brown haired girl is his imouto. She sure makes Alya jealous.

It's a bit different im how they attack the romcom genre so I'm okay with it.

Yes but I didn't say they are adapting from the manga. Am saying they will probably get the inspiration from the manga as the manga panels are detailed and it's easier to visual if they are Animating the LN

Inspiration and Adaptation is different.

Liked the ramen portion of the episode here, that was a bit fun. Alya's a pretty generic, pretty looking character so far, think the chemistry with her and Masachika is fine so far but nothing too special for the time being. The Russian portions still feel very forced for the sake of the gimmick here but that's just what the series is so it is what it is. Yuki's character changing completely at home in her full on sister mode since she and Masachika are real siblings and she's quite the personality to say the least. Doga Kobo got to work with some of the Alya fanservice too in the shopping portion. This show reeks mid 2010s rom-com, in both good and bad ways so far. Something about Masachika's voice in this anime is a bit grating, I'm not gonna lie. Especially in the portions with him reacting to Alya's Russian speak contradicting everything about what she is saying or acting towards him before.

I’m pretty sure that the whole gimmick of her being embarrassed and blurting out Russian is gonna get boring by the end of the series one of the few things that I wish the series didn’t go for.

well didn't expect that reveal quite early about 'secret' relationship of Yuki and Masachika, and in manga adapation, they have a simple explaination why both of them are siblings, despite different family name.
and also Yuki's changing her voice tune betweel little sister tone to childhood friend tone was good in my opinion , give credit to her VA..

We’ve got the best imouto of the year already!

Alya-san’s super versatile and good wearing everything but that final one was .. well, daring, yeah xD. I’m sure our MC would’ve just played along had the imouto not been around but it wasn’t meant to be, lol.

Same station, huh? And the understanding Russian part, seems like she’s got a long way to go still though in other matters.

Kawaikute Goumen was a pleasant surprise, I’m guessing we’ll be seeing various popular covers here and I’m always down for that! Enjoyed this Ep a lot, Doga Koba’s got this in the bag, I’m calling it.

Btw, when is he actually gonna reveal that he understands her? I can only guess that he does it at the end of the series or something.

Manga adaptation and its art were not that great but damn Doga Kobo really went all out with the anime adaptation.

Animation was great, voice acting was great, visuals were great, character designs are top-tier, and ED changes every episode (?). Maybe that's where all those budgets went when the anime was rescheduled from April to July lol.

I agree with what you’ve said for the most part, however with the russian bits, I think a big reason why it sounds forceful is simply due to the vast differences between Japanese and Russian in the first place, from every aspect. That and how difficult it would be for any VA to emulate Alya’s bilingual nature.

As someone who also grew up constantly swapping between two different countries, I often find my native tongue slipping out here and there whenever I’m very angry, sad or emotional in general. So I’d say that it is perfectly reasonable and realistic how Alya would be doing so as well, I do too after all.

The main issue imo, is that while something like this would translate well in a LN or Manga, it becomes exceedingly difficult to make sound seamless the moment you can actually HEAR the lines. It’s clear that Alya’s VA still possess a heavier Japanese accent while speaking Russian, so it doesn’t exactly come off as natural and thus, sounds rather forced.

That said, I do think that her VA did a great job all things considered! While it may sound forced, unless they actually grew up bilingually with Japanese and Russian, no VA could do better so personally, I’d cut them some slack in that department.
