I don't like Mikaros in this show but it appears that he had a complicated relationship with Azudora in the past.

There were still a lot of action outside of their confrontation as well. Mikaros seems like the type that just comes off as a malicious individual.

I've been picking up on Edil getting closer to Hyura. It seems like we might see an interracial couple forming by the end of the anime.

Hyura and Edil engage in battle at Thor Castle. Amidst their clashing blades, a strange emotion begins to sprout between them. On the other hand, facing the appearance of Azudora in front of the barrier stone, Mikaros reveals a past grudge. As Mikaros launches an attack using the power of the new world, Azudora makes a certain determination. Meanwhile, in the human king's castle, Asta, accompanied by Sharuami, attempts to escape from the castle. The two deepen their bond as they flee. However, in the midst of their escape, they find themselves in the King's Chamber.

Does Sharuami have any inkling that Cless is being manipulated and that Helck has indeed escaped from the Human World? It appears doubtful. The flashback is quite shocking. However, in the grand scheme of things, I wouldn't be overly concerned. Helck is likely to discover a solution to reverse the 'awakening' and return these individuals to their human state. The presence of the undead Cless in the human palace dungeon is probably essential for maintaining their awakened forms.

I remember cracking up at the beginning—seriously, what happened?

Hyura vs. Edil in their second showdown, the latter is wanting to break free from the controls of the king, but to expect that Shalamy could be the king, she sure got us shocked at the moment. But it's clear that she wants out of this controlled life being the innocent party who doesn't know anything, and Asta would help bring her to see Helck (if not Cless, at the very least). Shalamy having a special power that she does not know anything about, she could very well be the game-changer to this tide of war.

In the midst of escape, Asta being found out of the king and Raphaed, only to find herself restrained by the guards, it's a bad call. Also, Mikaros having a backup plan to release all of the Winged Knights into New World monstrosities that can rival the Lifeforms, it's an immediate urgency on Azudra's part to quell all 20,000 of them that have been manipulated by the Great Sage. Even Edil managed to break free of the king's spell, though that's pale in comparison to Mikaros inflicting Mind Break on him to transform into a New World form. Even till the end, he spared Hyura, and no matter how Azudra falls, he will not admit defeat in the face of adversity.

How messed up is Mikaros in wanting humans to be the winning race on Earth?

Damn..hopefully Edil can come back to his senses somehow, it would be such a waste to off him now that he broke free of the mind control. (and I dig the Hyura pairing lmao)

It's scary that Shalamy is the one who "awakened" everyone, poor girl won't be able to take it once she finds out, I can't imagine a happy ending for her.

And the masked angel is really Alicia...that ride will be rough for Helck. (but maybe she will break free of the control too)

It's pretty refreshing Mikaros is not that invincible, if Azudra was able to whoop his ass that much Helck will destroy him given the chance.

Damn what an episode, we only got two more to go as well 😢

I knew things were going too well with Shalamy and Asta. Shalamy technically did take Asta to the king, but ended up losing her mind in the process. Now a couple things stood out in this scene. 1: Noble dude reprimanded the king for using divine words on Shalamy which makes it seem that the king actually isn’t just a Mikaros puppet and has a will of his own. 2: He emphasises “until the time is right” as if Shalamy is part of a greater plan for them. This would make sense as she’s living in relative luxury in the castle. Also explains why she still has her personality. But what exactly are they planning?

Back at the castle, Edil and Hyura’s battle is underway and we can already see that they’ve both started feeling sweet on each other. Kinda had that idea from their very first meeting it’d be the opponents turned lovers trope.

What’s most interesting is that Edil still has his free will though. I think it was last week, we saw Cless’ blonde friend start having flashbacks about the past and I thought that could be an indication about breaking the king’s spell. Seems to be the case. So it’s not too late for the winged knights, interesting.

Don’t often see the guy being a tsundere in this situation but Edil had some serious tsun tsun energy going on 😂 “I just want to be able to fight you again!” Yea sure bud.

As usual this loser Mikaros ruins a great moment by showing up and mind breaking Edil. I really hope that’s not the end of him and he can somehow break out again. Someone as lonely as Mikaros has surely underestimated the impact that bonds can have on humans. Maybe that’s the weakness.

Things not looking good for Azudra, but no way he dies, right ? 😢

Hi. I liked the Helck manga, so I've been following the discussion of the anime despite dropping it. I've been following the discussion is several places, but a while back noticed something funny. One user here was copying comments from a discussion on a different website, particularly r/anime. He was rewriting them with ChatGPT or something, but they were definitely copied. Anyway, yesterday I watched the recent hbomberguy Youtube video, and it reminded me what I had seen. I don't really care about what he's doing, but I felt like making a reply about it. I only noticed his replies on the Helck threads, but considering how prolific they are, and how he doesn't seem to have written a single original thing, I wouldn't be surprised if he's done similar things in other threads for other series. Not that I'm going to check, as this really was a spur of the moment thing, and I don't have any investment in what happens. Anyway, here's every reply he's made on the Helck episode discussions, and every comment he copied them from that I could find.

Episode 1
IzanaSolos said:
Holy shit, based on this first episode, my first impression of Helck leads me to believe that this anime will be an enjoyable watch.

As humanity rejoices over the lone hero's triumph in defeating the Demon King, the inhabitants of the demon world brace themselves for a momentous event—a tournament that will determine the rightful successor to the title of Demon King hosted by Vamirio and . I understand where Vamirio is coming from, but I find Helck to be a rather fascinating individual. Sure, he harbors a desire to annihilate humans, but let's be honest, who among us hasn't entertained such thoughts at least once, right? Lol.

Card towers, chess, wood carving, cooking... is there anything Helck can't do? That parfait he made looked particularly delicious, and even Vermillio couldn't deny it. Apart from Vermillio, it seems like everyone else has grown quite fond of Helck. The opening and OP also gives a really strong old school RPG vibe. They don't stick with it the entire episode, but I dig it nonetheless.

Beneath his goofiness, it's evident that Helck carries a complex past. I wonder if his alleged involvement in his brother's murder has any connection to the angels' invasion or the mysterious disappearance of these human towns?

While there are underlying sinister elements, Helck (alongside Vamirio) almost deceived me into thinking it was a lighthearted series. Considering the high ratings of the source material, I can see why. Given sufficient time to develop, this series has the potential to become quite impressive.

Hence, I am pleased that it has been granted a 2-cour run consisting of 24 episodes!

Regardless of the challenges thrown at Helck, the man remains unfazed. With a wide grin on his face, he effortlessly breezes through each one. It's no wonder the crowd adores him.

Azudra attempted to sound tough, but in reality, this guy is just a step away from collapsing. However, the plan to test them by confronting the winged knights is quite clever. Let's see how Helck and the others fare with Anne by their side. Those winged foes seem like they'll put up a tough fight.

Episode 3
IzanaSolos said:
Vermilio and Hyura often pondered why they were the sole individuals who seemed to take matters seriously. Perhaps now, with the abrupt loss of Hyura's arm, others would finally understand the gravity of the situation.

The demon realm was undoubtedly harsh. Living outside protected zones was perilous, with monstrous creatures emerging from the blighted lands, and occasionally, extraordinarily powerful ones surfaced. Adding to the misery, an unknown enemy relentlessly attacked them, leaving them clueless about the motives behind these assaults. Without a doubt, it was an utterly dreadful place to exist.

Now that Hyura’s down for the cut, the team must quickly regroup and improve their performance. Otherwise, their fate seems dire.

Episode 4
IzanaSolos said:
If Edil and his winged companions were once humans, someone must have initiated their "awakening" to transform them into powerful winged knights with Hero-like abilities. Helck seemed unperturbed by all of this, indicating that he might be aware of the process. I wonder if this knowledge influenced his decision to join the Demon side. If these winged knights ever reach their full strength, it could be disastrous for others.

It's amusing how Doruushi and Kenros opted to relax after witnessing Hyura and Vermilio's impressive display of power. Hyura's ability to regenerate was unexpected but impressive, making her quite the badass. Vermilio's fire magic was equally astonishing.

I was worried when Vermilio was sucked into the gate, but to my surprise, she ended up in a tropical beach paradise with Helck. Shit dude, where can I find a magical teleportation portal? Give me a vacation.

Episode 5
IzanaSolos said:
Azudra isnt taking Vermilio’s disappearance lightly eh?

While Vermilio appreciates nature, Helck has constructed a house, acquired a companion, and even engaged with a sea creature. His feats seem limitless. He fearlessly dove into the ocean, tamed a sea horse-like creature, and effortlessly felled trees by hand. Truly remarkable.

The island hosts an assortment of quirky creatures. The little bird is endearingly cute, a bit of a goofball. The pig-man displays a playful silliness. However, the elderly individual resembling The Dark Wanderer from Diablo exudes a disturbing aura, leaving us curious about what revelations he will offer next week.

Episode 6
IzanaSolos said:
Lol, that old village chief had me fooled for a moment. I genuinely believed that Helck and Vermilio were gearing up for a fight. Surprise! The old guy is actually pretty friendly; he just wanted to extend a warm welcome to the newcomers on the island.

Helck sure has a lot more going on beneath that goofy, muscular exterior. Dealing with the sudden shift from friends and loved ones to enemies must be incredibly tough. It looks like the human king is the true antagonist here. It seems like he's responsible for this whole "awakening" situation.

Hyura is truly impressive as she takes on those winged foes by herself. I was concerned for her, Kenros, and Doruushi, but thankfully Hon and Isty made a timely entrance. Azudra's arrival was nothing short of epic, and that mask of his is pretty cool. He initially tried a peaceful approach, but those guys seem to have chosen a path of destruction. Azudra is about to obliterate them, just like squashing grapes!

So, not only do these humans possess powers at the level of heroes, but they can also regenerate? That's seriously OP. Reminds me of King Baldwin from Kingdom of Heaven, though it doesn't raise any suspicion, right?

It's amusing how during the emergency meeting, Helck is considered the fifth biggest threat. This human king, functioning as a different kind of "hero," adds an intriguing twist. He's not just a feeble human – the guy wields enough magic to make use of this overpowering resurrection spell.

Azudra's close call while sending a care package to Vermilio is quite the scene, and our comical bird companion nonchalantly devours the orange, leaving the rest to become kindling. Well, that plan went up in smoke!

Seems Helck managed to capture three shikango, just as Vermilio had anticipated. It's rather amusing how closely they resemble disgruntled deer munching on their food.

While bidding farewell to the villagers brings a sense of nostalgia, it's heartening to see young Piwi becoming part of the group's journey. That adorable, fluffy companion truly steals the spotlight. It's quite endearing how the witch playfully wrestled him down to give his soft, fuzzy belly a rub.

Episode 9
IzanaSolos said:
I never expected Helck to appear on the island's shore with a "goal" sign, waiting for Piwi and Vermilio, especially after their close encounter with the Kraken. That's just classic Helck.

Those Tothman troublemakers quickly learned not to mess with Helck. He effortlessly swatted one of them into a wall like a fly. Helck was handling them like a pro until the king got a sudden power boost. It's unclear whether he's possessed or found some kind of powerful item, but it'll be intriguing to see how his new form matches up against Helck.

Episode 10
IzanaSolos said:
Damn Helck is a fucking badass.

Following last episode, in the city of Eriu, Helck and Vermilio found themselves battling the Toasman tribe. The Toasman king, obsessed with power, went berserk due to a mysterious force. After their confrontation with the Toasman king, Helck and Vermilio set off for the next town in search of a map to the empire. In a trading town surrounded by a desert, they decided to participate in a high-stakes cooking competition with a grand prize to purchase the expensive map they needed. However, they soon discovered that the competition had attracted formidable chefs confident in their culinary skills.

That whole part where the residents of the country thanked Helck and Vermilio was sweet. As well as that whole cooking part, that not only made me hungry but made me laugh so much. Helck just knows how to make a good dish doesn't he? Well looks like they got the map and they need to head northwest to make it back home!

But this Warrior of Darkness resides there. Will Helck be strong enough to defeat him?
I could not find a comment on the r/anime discussion where he copied this from. However, I would like you to take note that this is the first reply in the discussion, unlike his other replies.

Episode 11
IzanaSolos said:
Damn, even Helck gets hit?

As we saw last episode, having triumphed in the cooking competition featuring extraordinary chefs, Helck, Vermilio, and Piwi used the prize money to acquire a map leading to the Empire. They set their sights on the Two Ruined Nations to the northwest. On the other hand, upon hearing this, the mapmaker warned them that encountering the "Warrior of the Darkness" would likely result in not returning alive, advising them to take a detour if they valued their lives. With time running short, Helck and his group headed straight for the two ruined nations. However, as they walked through the weathered streets, an eerie presence began to close in from behind.

It appears that the dark warrior's reputation isn't just exaggerated rumors, considering how she perceives his power as highly dangerous. Additionally, the dark warrior possesses impressive sword-regeneration abilities. As well in this episode, Helck's bloodlust appears to stem from his determination to protect someone. So, the lesson here is: avoid getting on his bad side. Could he truly be the calamitous force the witch spoke of? I pray that's not the case. I love him. Though after gaining more insight into the dark warrior, it did make me emphasize for him. The farewell is quite emotional. Sadly, I don't believe he will return.

Their journey is going quite well so far. Too well. I assume something terrible will occur soon.
Once again, when his reply is the first in the discussion, I cannot find a comment he copied from on the r/anime discussion. My guess is that he found a different place to copy comments from for these comments, but I don't know where that is.

Episode 12
IzanaSolos said:
Hmm, 'hero killer.' It comes across as a bit of a gimmick to me ngl.

In the battle against the Warrior of Darkness Augis, Vermilio trembles in fear at the unleashed power of the berserked Helck. The warning from the witch, stating that Helck is a dangerous entity, echoes in her mind. On the other hand, the Imperial Army, having successfully reclaimed Tooru Castle, repelled repeated human attacks with a solid defense, thanks to the intelligence provided by the spy, Asta. With each battle, the soldiers with wings grow stronger.

Searching magic, eh? That seems like an invaluable enchantment, particularly for locating significant individuals. I believe Azudora is spending excessive time attempting to eliminate the human wizard king. This grants them an extended period to bolster their strength. I suspect that Helck is entrusting Vermilio with the "hero killer" in case he ever loses his sanity. I hope we got more of Piuy's little journal entries in the future as well lol.

2nd Cour starts next week!
For the third episode in a row, he replied first, and the comment he copied isn't in the r/anime discussion. Any of you know where he might have found these?

Episode 13
IzanaSolos said:
The new opening, it's decent enough. Not exactly a track I'd call a playlist banger, but it's alright.

Look at little Helck, facing all those jerks in the human realm. Lol, little Helck and his super healing, what a sight. That expression on his face was quite amusing. After dealing with such despicable characters, this city is in dire need of a revolution.

And here comes the time skip. Cless has really grown up. But where's Helck? Cless is quite the good boy, though a bit naive. When you think about it, you'd expect the kingdom to have a way to test people for hero potential, considering it's a well-known role in history. Lol, nice way to play matchmaker, Helck. That glass of hers compared to the others, quite the contrast. I do worry about a noble lady being out without any guards, to be honest.

That cliffhanger ending... and onto a new ending theme, which I quite like.

It seems Helck has found himself in a reliable company with Alicia and Edil, who appear to be genuinely good individuals.

Discovering that Mikaros was the doctor who saved Cless as a child was quite unexpected. Recognizing Zelgeon as one of the winged individuals is a significant piece of the puzzle. The pieces are gradually coming together. Helck is embarking on a battle against the Demon Lord, but one can't help but wonder what he might stumble upon instead.

Furthermore, the origin of these monsters raises questions. Vermilio mentioned that they aren't affiliated with the Demons.

Damn, it's quite a surprise that the noble who sheltered them played a significant role in the events involving humans. I wonder if fear drove him to desperation or if he was just not made for it.

Yet another cliffhanger ending, and now we have to wait a whole week... The backstory is truly interesting. I'm curious if it will conclude in the next episode or the one after that.
Once again, it's a first reply, and once again, I can't find where it's from.

He did not leave a reply on episode 16 or episode 17.

Episode 18
IzanaSolos said:
Wow. It's heartbreaking for Alicia. Yet, even in her final moments, she manages to wear a smile.

Before the running Helck, there stood bounty hunters and soldiers. Helck defeated the large army one by one and continued steadfastly towards the royal capital. There, he witnessed the pitiful state of Alicia, who had been dragged to the execution grounds. Helck was enraged by the cruelty and ugliness of the people's actions, but Alicia, despite her injuries, gently cared for him. Soon, as if to celebrate their reunion, snow began to fall.

What a merciless world. They should never have conducted a public execution... It's no wonder Helck wore a constant smile at the start; I had no inkling of the weight he carried. I still find it hard to believe Alicia is gone, especially considering there was an awakened hero skilled with a bow, much like her. Perhaps Alicia has transformed into one of the winged soldiers. Yet, I've glimpsed a spark of hope.

Could it be that taking down the king will be the key to saving everyone? Maybe all is not lost after all?
First reply, unknown origin.

Episode 19
IzanaSolos said:
Glad to be past the flashback arc; it was quite lengthy!

Despite the anticipation, Vermilio opted for a motivational speech over a hug for the unfortunate character, which was still impressive. The train sequence, particularly Piwi's proximity to Ann's head in the montage, was a highlight. Ann's humorous confession to the old village chief about defeating the big bad monster added a nice touch. Excited about the upcoming clash between Helck and Vermilio against the humans in the south.

This episode gives off mixed signals about her being an elite spy. Ugh, it's that guy who still seems sketchy if he allowed or participated in all this. Hey, it's the girl who was friends with Cless. Wonder what she's been up to and how she feels about everything. Does she grasp the gravity of the situation? Apparently not. At least she realized she was a girl without any pervy anime twists. Everything went wrong this episode, Asta got captured or worse, Shalamy was used for the plan and who knows what's going to happen to her when she realizes all that happened and then blames herself, the winged knights lost control and transformed, and just when Edil finally regained his consciousness and free will and when he realized his feelings for Hyura he got transformed too and as far as it looks killed Azudora : (

So many mysteries surrounding the King and Rafaed.

Oh man, I think the last winged knight shown is Alicia, which if it is then Mikaros is most likely correct in that Helck won't be able to fight her. However, Vermilio is with Helck so she may attack Alicia but Helck may intervene with that too.

Beyond that I didn't realize that Edil had been specifically targeting Hyrua and she seems to have accepted his feelings but it's too bad that Mikaros transformed him again. Knowing that some (if not all) winged knights may become self aware again gives me hope that some of them may be saved...

Ista is justified in her reactions.

Is Shalamy the princess, or is she Rafaed's child? It's intriguing that she hasn't undergone the transformation like everyone else. What sets her apart?

Episode 22
IzanaSolos said:

Alrighty there. I'm gonna debunk everything you "claim" to have on me starting from top to bottom.

So, like you, I'm all about checking what folks are saying after watching anime episodes. I hit up r/anime and other spots during my breaks. I gotta keep it quick during those breaks, so sometimes I reword what I find to jog my memory. No fancy AI, just me putting it in my own words. And hey, if the rules don't call out rewording, I figure it's fair game.

Now, about being quick to reply every 9 weeks or so – that's my uni break, giving me a solid 3-4 weeks to really get into the nitty-gritty of my write-ups (hence why eps. 10-12 I was second actually to replying in the thread). And here's the kicker: there's no other anime discussion place that kicks off right after the Japan TV broadcast, except for MAL. So, how am I copying?

Look, if this is getting under your skin, we can hash it out in PMs or comments. Or, if it makes you happy, I can just wipe all my comments from this show. Your call. What do you think?

Well, looks like Azudra has been killed (maybe?).
On the other hand, Edil falling in love was really cute, even though it looks like it ends up poorly (for now).

Lots of things are going bad, but we got decent hints in this episode about how things could end well for most characters I think.
Only two episodes left, feels like we'll need another season after that one to reach the end of the story :)

@KANLen09 this is the damndest thing, like "if we get rid of the people we don't like then peace will be assured" uh no, then you are just going to fight each other lol.

Shalamy is definitely being used pretty bad.

Oh shit Azdura get pretty screwed there. Though camera not showing the exact moment of his death i can assume there is at least a mild chance heis alive but seems not so good odds unless his plot armour is that thick.

Mikaros is just one big pain in the ass for a long time, I'm betting getting rid of him will be so satisfying.

Huh so I guess Helck will go rage mode with the sword he got from the dark knight on other dark spawned...things or whatever. Oh and Vermilio killing Cless with the hero sword.

This is a anime that doesn't know what it want to be and a classic example of anime making a drastic shift after a while. Can't say I'm feeling it with this one.

@Gl0rp
What?
Helck as a series knew what it wanted to be from the start, the drastic shift (I'm assuming you're talking about the flashback as a turning point for the narrative and general atmosphere) that you're talking about was hinted right at the beginning of the story.

Guess I missed that hint. I called from its description, granted that's not seldom missleading and overall feel of the first couple episodes.

Edil slowly breaking free from the curse and "n-not confessing or anything" to Hyura had me grinning the entire time they were on screen together. And of course, Mikaros had to ruin it.

Honestly this show's become much more than it used to be. Pretty surprised the score hasn't gone up more in response. Hopefully it finishes strong and turns things around!

Maybe because I didn't? There are similarities, but as I mentioned before, I reword them.
@IzanaSolos Thing is, that's virtually no different from what is commonly conceived as plagiarism, which is what the other user is accusing you of.

But honestly, imo that's hardly something I would say problematic in this particular case, you are just echoing people you agree with, while rewording their statements without crediting them. It's not like you are profiting from it or damaging any of their views, clout or whatever. It's literally something I see the entire internet do on a daily basis, especially on Twitter. The worst you even have arguably to lose is rep, which is something worthless to have on MAL, most of the good reviewers post their essays and critiques elsewhere anyway; the comment section was never pristine.

I don't think an exposee is truly necessary. Even because it kinda interrupts the flow of discussion of one of the major episodes leading to the upcoming final arc.

Nah, there's no need. As I said in my original comment, I don't actually care about what you're doing, nor do I care if you keep doing it. It's not like it was my comments that were copied, and when I messaged someone you copied when I first noticed this to see if they were you, they didn't seem to care very much either. Like you said, there aren't any rules against it. I just noticed something odd, left it alone for a couple months, then made a comment about it on a whim. It probably took me about as long as it takes you to rewrite someone else's comment. As for this:

Your post: "So, not only do these humans possess powers at the level of heroes, but they can also regenerate? That's seriously OP. Reminds me of King Baldwin from Kingdom of Heaven, though it doesn't raise any suspicion, right?"

It's very dissapointed that the fighting scenes truly reduced into an ash episode by episode. I could appreciate this critical moment with all the battle scene and perhaps Edil sacrificial part can be more touching. Alas i get this half-baked quality smh.

All in all, things getting pretty clear with those explanation from Asta side, and Mikaros. Edil changed behavior really caught me off my guard tbh. But Hyura reaction needs to be more impactful, besides the animation also still doing a very minimalist doing. Once again irs dissapointing.

I really need to catch up to the manga before the anime is finished....

@Danpmss Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I never meant to cause harm or claim others' work. I'm just here to chat about the anime we love. I get it might seem like plagiarism, and I'm sorry if it does. I'll be clearer about when I'm drawing inspiration in the future. If anyone has concerns, feel free to message me. I want our discussions to be enjoyable for everyone. Appreciate your understanding.

@Frosteek
Sure thing, no problem. I understand, people pick up on stuff, and curiosity kicks in. Wasn't my intention to upset anyone. If you or anyone else ever feels uneasy about what I'm up to, just give me a shout through a message or drop a comment. I'm just here for the discussion, not looking to stir trouble. Appreciate you bringing it up, though. If you ever want to chat more or have different thoughts, feel free to hit me up.

And as for the how am I copying question, I was trying to say, how am I copying from write-ups that are already second or first in the forum? MAL is the only place where anime discussions start right after the broadcast from Japan ends.

it was...OK.
HELCK was, IMHO, A very good show for most of its run. But it really disappointed me after the reveal of the big bad guy's plan. The creators are doing a decent job of patching together a climax to the story. But that is all.

The power of friendshit wins again. As always, hackjob of a mangaka can only get out of a corner he got by himself by pulling asspulls in the last minute. If Mikaros knew that their commanders like Edil weren't a 100% subdued by the king's power, why didn't he use his magic bullshit powers prior to subdue them to absolute loyalty? Same asspulls will eventually repeat with the rest of Helck's former crew members. Their whole scheme from day one was to have absolute obedience on the human race, so why did he leave them in such a flawed state that would bite him back in the ass at later date (on current time).

@Dreadogastus_F The big bad's plan has not been revealed yet, in fact none even said his name.

Every time I find myself getting invested in this show, it pulls yet another twist where it's glaringly obvious that it's been made up right then and there by the author. Mikaros gets powers as the plot demands, Edil, who could not even beat Hyura before can suddenly overpower Azudra after his mind was "broken", which should actually make him weaker... Either they're taking some shortcuts with the original material that results in this mess, or the other way around, they shouldn't have adapted the story plothole by plothole. How are they going to wrap this up in just two episodes?
