LOL at the beginning with Kakihana and the yakuza boss. Who would have thought he was talking to the phone! hahahhaha.

And that Capoeira dance moves! "Please, no more quiexada!" Hhahaha even Odokawa is begging.

Wow, this anime is simply amazing so far. Something that I really look forward each week for its engaging dialogues and dynamic character interactions. Not to mention that mystery vague feeling from the plot! Looking forward for more!

Exactly, I was thinking the same thing! The show also has a similar concept to Gakkou Gurashi in that it seems to be Odokawa views everyone else as animals in order to cope with whatever happend in the accident that keeps being alluded to in every episode so far

So the person Odokawa was talking to at his home was not the missing girl but was someone else? Or does the criminal monkey have the wrong info?

That conversation between Odokawa and criminal monkey was the best.

Shiho is most likely after Kakihana for money but both of them are getting fooled by each other. What's up with those two yakuza looking dudes? Were they hired by Shiho to rob Kakihana or did the criminal monkey hire them to kidnap Kakihana.

This happened to me so many times. It's so freakin' embarrassing XD
That's when you really wish earphones and bluetooth earphones never existed.

That conversation between Odokawa and Shirakawa was nice. It was fun to see that Bollywood movie joke XD

I am quickly growing to love this series, but I must say I really hope that the fan theory that the animals are people and it's all in Odokawa's head doesn't turn out that way. For one thing, many of these animals have very large discrepancies in their vertical dimensions (hamster woman who calls goriki needs to use a stepladder to see the drugs on the 2nd shelf vs. actual giraffes walking around) that just don't make sense in humans. Then there are the scenes where Odokawa isn't present (e.g. most of Kakihana's scenes). Lastly, it would kind of destroy the magic of using the animals to aide in exposition, someone else already mentioned "show don't tell" in the 1st ep. discussion.

Some things I think we can infer at this point - someone's informing on Odokawa to the older Daimon/yakuza, otherwise how would they know he talks to himself in the comfort of his own apartment? Odokawa's love connection isn't going to turn out well, and likely will come back to bite him as she was pictured from behind talking to Dobu in the 1st episode and was implied to be who Goriki suspects... before Goriki suddenly goes missing as she informs Odokawa in this episode.

I feel like the relatability of this episode's scenes was really off the charts too!

This series flew under the radar up til now for me, just watched the available episodes,... and enjoyed it very much.
A very pleasant surprise, a hidden gem in a season I figured to be pretty "lean" in terms of anime that would interest me and after already encountering some "misses" in a few I did give a try.
Following this one with great interest.

Definitely not what I expected going into this series. I just thought this was going to be an episodic character-driven dramedy with the taxi driver picking up and chatting with different eccentric customers about their troubles. Still good though.

I'm scared and mistrustful of both the calico and the alpaca. Even though the capoeira warmed me up to the latter somewhat. Anyway Odokawa should just submit the dashcam footage to the policier police so they can see that the meerkat is accepting bribes.

I hope not too. Aggretsuko, too, almost never addresses everyone being animals except ONE time when it's acknowledged that Washimi's tail wags when she's happy. Just indulge in the characters being animals, "it's just a visual metaphor!" is so boring and jaded and basically just tricking the audience into watching a crime drama when they came for funny animals.

Damn the corrupted policeman, that's really frustrating to see.
Odokawa and Shirakawa is pretty good, I hope it will continue on the bright side.
I feel bad for Kakihana though, it really seems to be a trap, I mean these guys at the end..

The Anime is clearly doing a good job in portraying the discrimination against taxi drivers. If it wasn't for this anime I wouldn't have known they were being discriminated.Sure around my parts no one really discriminates them but I think in other parts of the world they are being discriminated.
And Am I the only one who thought that Dobu guy is looking like Power puff girls Z villain?

To the guy that theorized on last episode's forum that the fact that they are all animals is just because of Odokawa's accident and that he is the only one who perceives them that way... so far you might be on to something actually. No mention of animals was present in this one and Odokawa made that alpaca origami on the bar. Hmmmm...

Whoa this is a great theory. I'm just about to start ep 4 but I'm loving this series so far. I'm also kind of wondering about the food they eat if they are animals. Do they eat meat? Does that interfere with their dietary needs and instincts such as carnivores and omnivores?

Lmao the queixada, really loving the human dialogue despite it being said by animals. Ignoring how weird it is for 41-year old Kakihara to be in love with 18-year old Shiho (could've been her dad), I'm certain Shiho is one of the masked idols. Also almost certain that the missing teen is perhaps the other masked idol since they are both black cats.

I'm not sure I understand what Dobu wanted to do with the dashcam footage if his prime suspect is Yano. Odokawa seemingly knows nothing about the whereabouts of the girls or who kidnapped her.

Huh, so that Tapir is the baboon's boss.

Poor Odokawa got muddled up in this mess.

Also, the love the dyamic of Odokawa and Kakihana. Both support each other like true homies.

Also Shirakawa-san X Odokawa is really cute.

I love how this show discusses daily life as adults so casually and without pulling any punches.

Wait the girl Kakihana is dating is the 2nd idol from the trio right?

Oh boy, I hope Gorilla sensei is alright...

Three episodes in now and my initial impression that Natsuki Hanae was a major miscast for Odokawa still stands. I'd expected an older, deeper and perhaps more gravelly sounding voice for him, yet still monotone and dead inside. I think it would have been more fitting for a 41 year old taxi driver with this kind of character design.

I could tell straight away that Kuroda is voiced by... Takaya Kuroda. The same guy who voices Kazuma Kiryu. He has quite a few voice acting roles in anime but they all seem to be for supporting characters.

I chuckled a lot when Shirakawa performed capoeira in front of the walrus.

She definitely lighten the mood after the shit storm that Odakawa had to experience earlier with Dobu.

Odakawa's taxi life is going to become even more dangerous. So it is understandable that he does not want Shirakawa to be close to him.

Not sure how to feel about this. It's certainly building up steam at this point. But the series has been a little slow overall. It kind of balances things out to make it an above-average "meh".

That looked like a human hand? I think the annoying big meerkat had a flashback to Odokawa's car accident. Digging a hole in the middle of a park isn't suspicious at all...How does the baboon know everything about Odokawa?? Kakihana is bold for talking to an 18 year old girl. She's probably only interested in his money. Oof that cliffhanger doesn't make me feel good at all. So, the 18 year old girl is not 18 because she's in that band and she mentioned that she's old. The "18 year old" girl is probably trying to get more info on Odokawa through Kakihana. The little date was so cute though
