Production company Genco opened an official website for a television anime adaptation of Kogitsune Kanekiru's Re:Monster light novel on Tuesday. The website also revealed the main cast, studio, a teaser promotional video, and a teaser visual (pictured).

Takuya Satou (JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken (TV), Yuukoku no Moriarty) is starring as Goburou. Studio Deen is producing the anime.

Kanekiru began writing the action fantasy story on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in May 2011. AlphaPolis acquired the novel and published the first volume in July 2012, featuring illustrations by Yamaada. The ninth and final volume was released in July 2017. The series has a cumulative 1.5 million copies of its volumes in circulation.

Haruyoshi Kobayakawa began serializing a manga adaptation in AlphaPolis Comics in March 2014. The tenth volume went on sale on September 20.

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga for release in English in February 2016. The sixth volume was released on May 16, and the seventh volume is scheduled to be released on October 31.

Synopsis
Tomokui Kanata has been re-incarnated in the weakest goblin, named Goburou, after having undergone an unfortunate death. However Goburou has retained his previous life's memories, an unusual evolution, as well as becoming strong enough to gain status boosts from eating.

In this alternate world of survival of the fittest, events unfold with competent subordinates and comrades, delightful case of the tail-wagging dog...

Published from 2012 to 2017? I wonder how much the hype around LN would have changed if it had received an adaptation back in those years.

Read its manga version a ways back but it dropped it when it started feeling aimless with its plot. Was wondering when it was gonna get a anime though since it had so many volumes so it must have some degree of popularity (I assume). Shame the visuals in the PV so far look like really bland and generic.

So this time someone would become an ultra-mega-giga-riba overpowered being from a... goblin?

Anyways, they might have planned this through if they're adapting a completed LN which has quite literally ended years ago.

Many reviews of light novel and manga are bad. Why does IT EVEN NEED AN ANIME, I wonder.

This was in my interest stack for "Manga likely to recieve an anime adaptation". Nice to see another correct prediction. Never actually read it lmao, but that one guy in a MAL forum who wanted the source material to get an anime will definitely be happy.

My Barnes & Noble always has volumes in stock.

But man, I haven't heard good things about this one.

Remember reading this back in 2017 and dropping at about 30 chapters. Initial concept was pretty good, but just devolved into a power fantasy. If there's anything noteworthy about it though, do tell me and I might pick the manga back up.

Gigachad Goblin gets an anime....Very interesting lol. I read this manga at some point last year and I enjoyed it, so I'm curious to see how it'll translate as an anime and how it will be receieved given the nature of and reactions to Goblins in other anime

This one used to be compared a lot to Tensura back when I got into the latter, around 7 years ago.

Studio deen, sigh. PV looks okay, was interested in this. Might just read the manga when it's complete.
