both but if im force to choose one then 3+1 considering it have a solution to the hedgehog dilemma and that is showing no pain no gain when it comes to social life too

Depending on my mental state on the day I watch either. If I'm feeling depressed and want a mindfuck EoE. If I'm in a rather good mood and want an entertaining mindfuck 4.0. Both are 10/10 for me so I can't really decide.

According to me EoE is a masterpiece in cinematography, art style, fluid animation and visceral realism, it can't be topped I think

While End of Evangelion is a great movie, I prefer Thrice Upon A Time as the best overall ending. It gives a much more satisfying conclusion to everyone and ends the storyline on a much better note. Also the animation is out of the world in this film.

I feel like the preferred ending depends on who your favorite character is, or at least the one you want to know more about. As someone who was fed up with Asuka from the beginning I do like EoE for having her die as horribly as possible, but I preferred 3.0+1 since what they did with Gendo transcended everything previously done in the show.

unfortunately i feel like there's not much difference between them if you like to see Shinji, Rei, Misato(slightly better in EoE), or anyone else.

I like both a lot but I have to say EoE. it’s just perfect. Thrice was batshit crazy and extremely fun though (like, seriously one of my favorite opening scenes of all time). however, the strange CG parts and who Shinji ends up with were kinda 🤔 to me- like yes ofc Eva is weird and throws curveballs but it kinda felt out of place and not in a completely satisfying way IMO. I’m sure people have all kinds of explanations but I’m still ehhhhh about it.

I only chose Thrice upon a time since it was the one that actually finished finished and didn’t make me question my brain and knowledge capabilities, don’t get me wrong, both were mindfuckingly (new word i created) brilliant but for different reasons. But they are equal in terms of masterpieces it’s just one ends and the other makes you contemplate.

They're both sides of the same coin for me, like, am I feeling like a glass half-full kinda person or a glass half-empty person.

Either way, I gotta give praise for the Rebuild movies giving us a fully realized and fully lived-in Post-Impact world with all that red earth red sea stuff. It's so hauntingly beautiful.

tbh the original ending was disappointing and shocking at the same time. but the rebuild ending gave me peace in my mind that the world on eva finally found peace
