No one talking about the spirit contract ? They literally sacrificed euphys soul, body and memories for some 60+ years of a relationship, which they could've had also in another country. This isn't a happy ending, this is the worst possible outcome.

Never thought we would actually see them kissing, so that was a pleasant surprise. Usually it's just bait in anime, but I guess things are slowly changing in the industry.

I’m sorry but this is the most unsatisfying anime ending I’ve ever seen. This show started great, I really liked the first few episodes. After Anis gets the dragon curse or something, everything goes downhill. It’s such a shame because I really want to like this show, I really do.

I don’t know how things go in the ln, but the anime feels very rushed. Here are some questions which I hope manga/ln readers can answer.

-why is it only possible for Lumie to contract (or whatever she does) to one person? Why not bless both Anis and Euphy?
-what does Anis mean by ‘wanting to fly in the sky’? Hasn’t she flown enough times with her magical broom? Does she mean she want EVERYONE to be able to fly in the sky?
-if Anis is going to be the next queen anyway, why should she care what the rich or governors or whatever have to say?
-what difference does having Euphy as the next queen in the place of Anis make? Euphy wants to cut the traditional tradition, which I believe none of the noble families would ever agree to, and so does Anis. Is it necessary to have a different ruler when the two have the exact same intention?
-why is Lienie a maid in training? Wasn’t she a daughter of a Baron or something? Did she lose her status of the noble family?
-why is it at the end it’s told as if Anis and Euphy still have a long way to go, when at the same time showing demonstrations of Anis’ magical tools and whatnot. Why? That should happen AFTER the revolution.

Just to name a few.
Just want to add a bit to Marina2 reply.

Ilia is implied to be a noble. She can use magic and was going to be married off to some rich guy which are not commoner traits.
Lainie was a commoner adopted just because of her power, this is the best ending for her.

I thought that this was a great finale. I wish the duel lasted longer though considering how it was built up in the previous episode.

Though I don't know how much this show condensed the light novel, I thought it was a great watch as someone who hasn't read it.
The animation was breathtaking for most of the series and I liked how it didn't really focus on the Isekai aspect but moreso the Fantasy aspect. The characters were likable and well-designed and I always looked forward to Wednesdays for this show. Shame it's over. I hope we can get an OVA or second season where we see Euphie's rule or some slice of life with Anis and Euphie.

The biggest disappointment of the year, this end is just…
I really have the feeling that they wanted to start something then choose the easy path with some fan service, romance between girls, wow…
At the end, it was really that easy to change things???
Everything was not bad, the animation was good or even the ost , but the story or a great characters development are definitely missing for me…

I'm surprised since this episode was actually the best one we finally got the yuri scenes (and the only ones in the anime :S) and it was cute but well that's all, other than that what it has been... the same cliché story with the isekai character that has to fight an evil person trying to attack the royal family/castle and of course a massive monster (a dragon in this case), no originality at all except the girls love parts that only happen during ep 12, the animation was really good but it doesn't change the fact that the plot had almost nothing truly interesting or original to show...

Hope they become immortal lovers together <3

The surprise "incest" is about as weak as it gets, but if it ruined the show for at least one puritan gay then I'm happy. (Seriously though, I'm really starving for yuri incest over her fr)

-why is it at the end it’s told as if Anis and Euphy still have a long way to go, when at the same time showing demonstrations of Anis’ magical tools and whatnot. Why? That should happen AFTER the revolution.

Just to name a few.

1. In LN, Lumi said Anis can't because she's a 'traveler' (she was isekai-ed), an individuals whose souls  don’t harbor spirits. The reason why people have different magical affinities is because they have different spirits within their souls. (This is the reason why Anis can't use magic)
2. She wants everyone to be able to fly like her easily. Her broom does allow the flight but it is impractical for most people.
3. It is necessary in order to prevent the revolution. She can use force to make them obey but how would that differ from AI method?
4. Euphie is now a royalty and she CAN use magic. That is the big different. The new system is just getting start, Noble idea about Magic won't change easily. Euphie become the queen will at least make the transition smoother. (Euphie was also supposed to become a queen in the past, make it even easier for nobles to accept her)
5. It's not strange for a noble girl to become a personal maid for Princess/Queen. It's considered a honor. They usually don't let a commoner do it.
6. The new system is just getting start. Everything won't just change over night after the demonstration.

Point 1 makes the whole thing easier to understand; not sure why the don't mention it in the anime or I could easily just miss on it.

But the rest is kinda meh. Don't get me wrong, it's not your explanation that is meh, but the explanation offered itself. Regarding point 3, force is not everything. If she tries hard enough (as with everything in this show), a lot of people will follow after her examples. Those nobles are old anyway, and presumably won't even be there for Anis' coronation should she be the queen. And it's not like Euphy has a good reputation among the nobles either. Sure, having Euphy who can use magic as the next queen might path the starting road easier, but I find it hard to imagine she will have it any easier than Anis would once she tears down the old tradition. Point 5, maybe, but Lainie is a Baron's daughter, albeit adopted or taken in. I just imagine Lainie is above Ilia in terms of status, but Ilia calls her by her name.

I guess for point 6 is the anime's fault. The way they show it with the crowd cheering and nobles face palming, it looks as if the revolution won't take a long time to achieve.

First 9 episodes were fine. I think Anis should have killed her brother but whatever. But these last 3 episodes just took everything they built character wise and threw it away. They were legit bad episodes and the only reason why this ending will get praise is the underwhelming kiss scene imo.

Tilty and Ilia were arguably the two best characters.

The series is a Light novel that is still ongoing with 6 volumes in Japan they only did like 3 volumes in the anime. But they cut a whole lot apparently.

One of the biggest pleasant surprises of the season! I can see some things being a tad contrived, but I think the way that the character drama builds off of it works incredibly well. I really love the tangible impact that the shift in responsibility, both externally and internally, had on Anis, putting her in a spot where she goes down a much more self sacrificial path and needed to learn how to love herself from those around her, primarily Euphie. Kinda felt reminiscent of Alicization Kirito in that kind of emotional journey. Overall really happy with how this show turned out, it's so satisfying to have these emotional payoffs feel genuine and not shy away from the massive risks and ramifications of its major story events. (Especially compared to Lycoris Recoil, which I found to be far more of a "massive disappointment")

I liked the finale episode, but the hype from the episode from last week was not met up to expectations. But some things made up for it like some of the animation from this episode, real gorgeous

My mind went kablooey from all the yuri. Anis went from pulling to be the one being pulled, how the tables turn :)

I didn't read the tags before, so I thought they were just going to go with the classic girl best friends route, even though Anis said near the beginning "I'm only interested in women," they played it off so casually I wondered if the translation was right. And then. AND THEN. THEY KISSED.

What a beautiful season finale that was, this is a rare occurrence, we weren't baited, LET'S GO! They kissed, not once, not twice, but t h r i c e.

Anis got bodied in that duel though, not as much as how she got in bed though probably. Euphie's magic was seriously beautiful.

This is not the happiest of endings, since Euphie still had to go through the spirit contract, but I am sure Anis will find a way to counter that. Plus, Euphie won the fight fair and square, though I guess in Anis' words, it was unfair lmao, but since she won, we gotta respect this outcome.

Was about to flip out when the narrator was talking like this is gonna be the end, but obviously it's not. If The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent can get a second season, then so can MagiRevo.

Obligatory.

This show was pretty damn consistent to me and I hope that season 2 gets announced soon, hopefully with equal or even better quality. 8.5/10

Older sister, huh? I kind of thought we were over that kind of label in yuri. If they can overthrow all the other rigid systems, just let them marry, or work side by side as business partners while being romantically together.

Oh well. Besides that, I think this was a wonderful episode, and a fitting ending. And wow, Euphies magic was gorgeous. I also loved the tender bedroom dialogue (and kiss), and when the girls presented their ideas to their families. And glad we got to see a bit of what happened afterwards, as they set the plans in motion.

Oh, and I'm happy they went into the reincarnation thing. Both glad that we got an explanation, and that they brought up some of the popular tropes (like reincarnation as someone else, and how it could mean taking that person's place in the world).

Very solid ending! I'm a bit curious about reading the LNs now, especially if they continue after the ending of the anime (Which I assume they do?).

Y'know, when this show began, I would not have picked Anis as the bottom of that particular relationship, and yet here we are.

I do feel like the ending was rushed a bit. I guess they wanted the climactic battle and the kiss in the final episode, so everything that came after just had to be squeezed in. I would have liked to have seen that in more detail. Hope for a season two, perhaps; they definitely ended on a "to be continued" vibe.

Some questions:

1. What was the dragon's curse? Some speculate longevity/eternal life, but it is not specified. If it was implied or said in the LN, this could clear up Euphie's decision as why she pursued being blessed by a spirit so much.

2. Will the nobles accept Anis's and Euphie's expansion of magic to everyone? We know some of the military is grateful to Anis for defeating the dragon.

3. How is homosexuality handled in their kingdom/world, because there was a scene with emphasis in Anis gaining an heir?

4. What was the point of Anis being isekaied if she showed little indication of the knowledge from her former life? We see her telling Euphie, but it seemed so low on importance for the story. I'm guessing in the LN, there is more use and references to it. Could someone clarify this?

5. When is season 2?

Regarding the sudden shyness and earlier boldness, I'd say it's simply easier to be bold when you think there's no chance and you can play it off as a joke. Now she knows Euphie feels the same way, so Anis feels more vulnerable and can't act lightly about it the same way as before.

The first few episodes were a bit slow, as it felt like there was too much focus on Euphie's early dilemmas who felt more like the secondary main character but by the end of the show, it felt like Euphie was more so the primary main character of the story than even Anis.

I'm glad they brought up the isekai bit with Anis and how the feeling about potentially having stolen someone else's body has been haunting her. It's actually not the first time I've seen this idea used in isekai either. While I won't say it's the best reason, it's better than nothing for tacking on the isekai theme. For the majority of the series, I just kept asking myself if there was any reason for this even being an isekai.

Yuri shows have a tendency of never even getting to first base or they hide those events behind the scenes, so figured all this show would do was tease us too, so when they actually kissed, I was actually surprised to see and not once but multiple times. Officially being sisters doesn't stop them either.

I'm not sure how much content the light novel has but it would be nice to see if Anis ever figures out anything about being able to use magic or how she deals with Euphie's soon to be immortality. More of their relationship too, but I guess I can leave that to artists.

It's a problem of the adaption, they skipped the part where Euphie as a spirit now steals Anis' mana by kissing her, which might make her pass out.
