| If there's anything to note of this "high stakes" show, is the number of scriptwriters, some of which have learnt under Akudama Drive's writers before, plus original creator Homura Kawamoto of Kakegurui fame. Studio Hibari is back after a long absence since Keppeki Danshi! Aoyama-kun in 2017. Immediately, this has a vibe towards Akudama Drive, but involving poker cards. Freelancer Finn Oldman going around to save an orphanage that is on the verge of shutting down due to shortage of funds by stealing and pawning things worth of note, but the only way is to gamble his way through to make some big bucks, with his 2 of Spades. Betting off with Lucky Lunchman and losing all of his winnings in one shot from his 10 of Diamonds, Finn prepares his stealth to steal his card, only to fall into more luck. The disguise of the hidden assassin with his 3 of Diamonds card, and Chris Regrave with his 5 of Hearts, Finn's 2 of Spades being the best card of the lot, he's getting into the nitty-gritty of being a player. Five New Old's OP is great, a banger. This is a mixed-media show, but this already proves the immense potential. |

| Mondays might be quite an awesome day this season, because this might have just been the best premiere this season so far, though Vinland Saga S2 is airing soon. It has the makings of a nice over the top thriller, and it wasn't as edgy as I expected. The character designs were admittedly a bit middling, but the production looks alright. OP was excellent as well. This is a show I'll definitely keep my eye on. |

| WOW! really good first episode. seems like Studio Hibari is cooking something interesting. the concept intrigues me, in a good way. the animation (especially the marbles) and bgm were also good. 2 of spades huh. looking forward to the next ep. |

| Lots of action in this premier episode and I'm already hooked! It looks like Finn grew up in an orphanage and is now looking for ways to make money to save it but gambling is definitely high stakes. That car chase scene came out of a Hollywood movie and the setting reminds me of Las Vegas (which I'm sure was the point). It's nice to have a change of pace with a bunch of other animes being set in a fantasy world/isekai, not that I mind as I'm watching a bunch of those. |

| Cool stuff. A bit of the Baccano-like coolness + the crazyness of Akudama Drive. Feels interesting. Looking forward to see more of that team/group where the main now is going to join. (Actually I watched this based on the looks of the char design and just now read the description after watching episode 1. Makes some things a bit more clear with the stuff from the info written on the MAL - probably official text translated from the japanese website.) |
| This series has potential based on the first episode alone. Based on what we saw so far, there are 52 special power cards that were protected by a ruling power until someone tried to steal them. This lead to the cards being scattered across globe and a group called High Card is tasked with collecting all the cards. There are other organizations who are also trying to obtain the cards which leads to the most intense game of 52 pick up in a cat and mouse type of play. |

| Yo, this show definitely has some style going for it right from the get-go. The character design, the premise involving a poker deck with card with superpowers, the way the showdowns play, and that jazzy music, it's just all so well executed. It's very early on to see where this will go but it's definitely promising. |

| You have NO IDEA how much I waited for this anime.. I was a fan of the series since the beginning (since the artstyle is REALLY similar to another multimedia project I love and adore) and oh my god, they did my man Chris justice!!! After the 1st episode you can clearly feel the tension between Chris and Finn (and omg I'm waiting for them to become besties,,) The opening song - is a banger and fits perfectly, the animation? Is stunning and has pretty visuals and pretty decent effects as well. The characters? Amazing. They really made Finn a likeable character (at least for me) and Chris entry being the best scene of the episode excluding the car one. Now all I have to wait for is the rest of the crew (Vijay I'm looking at you respectfully) and hope for the best since the 1st episode was AMAZING start of the series!! |

| There was so much going on in 23 minutes and I had a few questions but it looked interesting, exciting and promising, so I'll keep watching and wait for the answers. I don't like annoying, overly noisy characters like that Bobby guy but honestly his power with the marbles is really cool. I wish he didn't show up anymore but I still want to see his powers :""D I hope there's a hidden power from Finn's card that he doesn't know about yet. The character designs are quite unique and actually very pretty-looking... (Chris I may not be an utsukushii lady but can I touch you?). OP is great. |

| An anime with play cards, what an unique concept. I actually liked the first episode, animation was nice as well as the modern day cars. Cards in this anime have super powers, looking forward to what it'll bring. |

| The concept is kind of interesting but so much of the episode's plot relied on the characters acting braindead, makes me worry about how much worse it might get. I guess I'll give it another episode or two |

| As a certified fan of anything gambling-related I've been looking forward to this one ever since its announcement and the first episode certainly didn't disappoint – I was feeling those thrills!!! I already love the main character too with the "grey deeds for a noble cause" vibe. Easily an AOTS contender for me, can't wait for next week. |
