Tbh I was kinda expecting them to use the first opening for an ending/credits scene, so I was a bit disappointed when all we got was some Mongolian throat singing type shit... It was an ok ending, but it felt a bit anticlimactic. I personally think the show got worse after the first half, and then worse again after around episode 17.

I will pretend the whole final battle having the whole space time continnum at stake didn't happen and that they somehow managed to beat the meaty guy physically, because that was one of the most abysmal "turns" or final acts I've ever seen. Already questionability bad stuff had been happening in this final stage and that was the nail in the coffin for me. The show was really good and interesting most of the run, entertaining and well thought scenarios and situations, likeable characters and some good music. Still from being a strong 8 for the majority of its run the most and absolute most generous I'll be is giving it a 7.

One of the best endings to anime! Nostalgic, sweet, memorable, EVERYTHING an anime ending would need to be on top!!

Props to the script writer, animators, color fixers, music composers, AND the creator himself for giving us such a masterpiece!! Definitely my favorite anime of 2022

A clear happy ending when the story was already permeated by hardships, setbacks and suffering is very rewarding and I honestly I didn't want to see anything less for this when generally the atmosphere was never truly suffocating.

Great watch, I mean how could it not? Mystery, horror, action, thriller, romance, drama and some shounen tropes. A solid jack of all trades and that's something I appreciate it a lot these days and also the fact that it wasn't rushed.

8/10 among the top 10 for this years new releases for sure

I'm very glad this ended with a happy ending, these past few years I've seen too much manga/anime with a dark & depressing ending, for this anime to end in a happy ending make this a perfect 10/10 anime for me. Tho I'll like the ending even more if everyone of the team regained their memories, I mean those memories where they risked their lifes are precious not only for Shinpei & Ushio but also for all the others. But anyway, I'm really really glad that everyone are alive in the end.

Wholesome as hell, but felt slightly off to me since it just kinda teased that they remember... something, It didnt really give a definitive answer to the future and left a few options open which is not neccesarily bad but not satisfying to me either

Happy Ending just what I wanted. I do feel it is a bit weaker compare to the other episodes but still good in my books

What a dogshit ending. Thanks a lot

Wasn't really dogshit but a little too happy... It felt like they were different characters, since we were so used to them being to serious and scared all the time.

Beautiful conclusion of the anime. I have my issues with this anime but the story and character are carrying this anime. It outweighs the negatives with more positive. The art and animation being a consecutive 2cour is holding up well. The OP and ED are bangers. My only complaint is the OST are minimal usage and some are repeating of it. Overall very good anime

Some originality to this story and a somewhat unique main character. The designs are pretty nice. Overall, a cut above most anime.

First of all: I really like this series. And I totally didn't expect to like it! Usually I'm not into Time Traveling stuff because if it's bad, it's really bad and ruins everything. But it was actually done very well and the whole mystery and suspense, but also the action kept me involved and excited. Setting, ost, ect. were on point too!

But that last episode really wasn't great. It was actually an ending I was hoping for - "manually turn back time and make it so everything will be alright". But I feel like it has many holes and it misses much.
For one, I find it really sad nobody remembers their adventure - so the first 24 episodes were for nothing. Shinpei only has a few "deja-vus", which seems to fade as time goes on. This kind of removes all the character development and stuff we saw previously. For example: Nezu doesn't even know any of the others and only appears as a cameo. Felt like I was watching a show with characters who only look like the one's I knew for the previous episodes. And even though I enjoyed the first 24 episodes a lot, this really flaws my retrospective.
And besides that, it actually has a ton of plotholes! Sure, some stuff was changed to fit "Shadows never exsisted", like Ryunosuke not dying as teenager. But a lot of the "past events" no longer make sense. The biggest standout to me is: Why did Shinpei leave the island in the first place? In the original timeline, it was because he wanted to become independant, thinking he overstays his welcome as part of the Kofune family. Or because he didn't know how to deal with his feelings for his "stepsister" Ushio. Neither of this is present. And he clearly had a happy life before leaving the island. So why did he leave? If anyone has an idea or if the manga did a better job at explaining, please tell me!
And finally: Why did they not use this opportunity to get rid of the whole love triangle stuff? Is the "ideal timeline" Shadow Ushio tried to find really so romantically flawed?
Sou and Tokiko still both have a crush on Mio, but Mio doesn't want them because she likes Shinpei, just like in the original timeline. (Not stated, but blushing and staring Shinpei down was kinda obvious to me.) Since Shinpei never became Mio's brother, he could've easily been nothing more than an upperclassmen to her. And Sou and Tokiko's family was never disrupted by the Shadows, so they could've just, well, not develop any feelings for Mio cause they have happiness in their family.

In the end, it's still a great anime, but took a huge blow with this ending.

Seeing grown up Ryunosuke made this episode for me. He deserved it. The episode felt so short, i wish there was a little more.

But overall great show, really consistent with no dips in quality. 9/10 for me

This actually leaves some questions since this is a completely different timeline. As somewhat i'm a little bit fan of time traveling shows this is one of the best endings ever.

I'm glad I watched this while airing feels like binge watching this loses the appeal imo.
Why do we have to live in such a cruel world?

I can't even begin to describe the tremendous amount of happniess I felt while watching this episode. Kinda ironic that I felt like cying the whole time too. Loved every bit of it and this single episode made me love the whole anime even more than I already did.

Shinpie is one of the MCs I actually like lol.

It's been so long since I've seen a perfectly satisfying and happy ending to an anime. Just perfect. Perfect is the only word to describe this ending. Will definitely rewatch this when the BD comes out.

This series sure kept me engaged at all times. But I'm not a fan of a "it was all a dream" type of ending. Although it'd seem at leat the main duo remembered stuff at the end? Not sure if I should interpret it that way or it;s just my wishful thinking.

Such an immersive story, really captivating, I didn't feel bored even once in all 25 episodes
Unfortunately I didn't care much for any character cuz they all were dying so often and so casually
The ending reminded me of mai-hime, felt kinda anticlimactic but oh well, it was sweet
Besides the story, I absolutely loved the music and the art, too
The show was lacking in drama for my taste though
Honestly I'm wavering between an 8 and 9 here, a really really solid show overall

Happy ending, beautiful cinematography, some nice character moments. Not exactly the big bang climax that episode 24 was, and perhaps there was something left on the table in the end. But overall, the twists and turns and excitement throughout the series up until the end of episode 24 was so thrilling this slower pace with which to end the show and reflect was not at all disappointing. Well done! What a show.

Fantastic adaptation in fact added to it, my main criticism of the manga is that I often didn't really feel the connection between Ushio and Shinpei, felt very cold at times. Really fleshed it out in the anime and it really added weight to his desperation in trying to stop the shadows, there was someone he felt a desperate need to protect (even though she died) on top of everyone else on the island. Can call this anime of the year for me so far, will see if anything in the Fall season can dethrone this for me.

The previous episodes were a huge drop in quality, but at least it had a nice conclusion. It has some aspects holding the show back from greatness, such as not very interesting side characters and a disappointing main villain.

Anyways, I think I liked the second season of Shadows house slightly more.

Well, this is the most happy ending we could get and there's not much to say about this epilogue actually except that everything is fixed and everybody is alive and Ryuunosuke who's adult and has a daughter named Haine hmmm, but well that was cute especially the Shinpei and Ushio moments.

I think the ending could have been better but it's mainly due to the antagonist aspect not being that well developed or original sadly I felt like the idea of having an enemy shown from the beginning is kinda reducing the mystery and uncanny aspect of the show we could see at the beginning especially since Shide's ambitions were kinda questionable in the end... well other than that it sure been a fun and great ride for the progression aspect and linear story that is always great to catch up when all the episodes are out, gonna miss the characters for sure even though no ones are "legendary" but they were still all good and endearing.

What an ending, even tho a lot of things are insane but what's not insane here? lmao
Do love happy endings, and that's all i needed from this and they delivered. This was like Kimi no na was but this time the couple could remember everything or at least what is needed ;)
Oh and also, it's not confirmed but i assume that Mio ended with Sou since the last time it seems like this time was different.

Would love to get an OVA with them just chilling, but that would be tough since they closed all the arcs possible.

Epic ending! And i am so glad i had the opportunity to watch this

This time Eren manages to end the season with his girl lmao
