Just got home from the theater. It was a great movie. Animation is great as expected of MAPPA. Story is great too. Kinda sad about Geto-san. Anyways I'm excited for next season on 2023. .

AFTER SUCH A LONG WAIT, I HAVE FINALLY WATCHED THE MOVIE, I AM SO HAPPY!!! Had a Jujutsu Kaisen shirt on with me as I watch this film, I cannot express just how it feels watching this after waiting since last year. If you're reading this, it's too late...for me, you might guess where I'm at.

This film was pretty good, since it's a film it has the similar strengeths that Mugen Train had, the movie is more tightly-packed, the action scenes are filled with adrenaline and bursting punch, and the animation is such a MAPPA specialty. With a different main character that somehow resembles Itadori's come-up story from the main series, the result is the same or somewhat better than the main series.

They did start off weak, but as they connected with their friends, and with some proper training and fights, they come out as a strong and powerful being than they were at the start. The long wait was worth it and though this film may not made me cry like Mugen Train did last year, I sure enjoyed it like its counterpart.

8/10 if you still have a chance to watch it on the theaters, then do it, the payoff is surely worth it.

6/10. just fine movie. the theater experience didn't help either because the sound was just normal. so yeah, it all boiled down to the content. and the content is pretty predictable and boring. i screamed when a few fan favorites came on screen because that's the best part of theater experience. screaming. but for movie, meh. fine i guess. nothing more. Even though I'd give jjk anime a lower Rating that 6/10, i think the last 2 episodes and firts 2 episodes make it somewhat better than the movie. That's my opinion.

This was my first time watching an anime movie in theatres and this has been a good lesson to never watch anime movies in theatres again, why? I have several reasons. I would mention just one and that is they fucking censored stuff so many times, like literally painted the subtitles black and muted the audio as well, I was like wtf man, that panda kun part where he suddenly asks Yuta something and blushes or something man I didn't undertand that properly, were they talking about oppai? They censored one more part which I forgot.

Coming to the movie, first of all the animation was really good, the animation at the time of fight scenes was really good, at the time of Yuta vs Geto, it was just superb. 10/10.

The OSTs were really good as well, their timing during fights was good, it made the fight scenes look even more badass and cool.

I always used to wonder who this Yuta person is and stuff and we finally got to meet him, his situation was truly unexpected to me and really saddening. I can't even begin to describe how I felt after knowing how much Rika loved Yuta, then the accident then Yuta unknowlingly cursing Rika, man what a rollercoaster.

Not everyone was new to us anime-onlies viewers, we got to see Maki, Panda, Inumaki, Nanami, that driver-kun and lady-chan as well and I don't think I need to metion our beloved Gojo.

Rika chan was one hell of a curse though.

Inumaki got a lot of screen time and he had a fare share of his heroic and badass moments. But IDK what was up with that microphone that Yuta obtained but him saying shine was so badass, 10/10 scene.

There were a few moments that made me laugh but the Todo's moment with his idol chan was the best, I literally burst out laughing at that. After watching this movie I understood why Todo wanted to fight Yuta in the school event so much.

Then there was the heartfelt moment between Yuta and Rika chan, the I love you and I will give my body to you and stuff was expected but damn I never expected him to kiss her, everyone in the theatre scremed ew at that scene lmao but personally I didn't find it gross at all, it was a very heartwarming scene for me and then the climax happened, just pure badassery from there on, top-notch action, directing, OST choice, animation, dialogues, everything. I was teary-eyed in those scenes, Yuta moving fast af, breaking sword, then punching Geto, man was it good. After that there were some pink lights and stuff and next we see is a very injured Geto who's being greeted by Gojo. It was nice to find out that Geto and Gojo were best friends, I would like to see how they both were at their time at academy, must have been quite a mischiveous pair haha.

I was surprised to see the human Rika chan appear after the curse was lifted but it's not too clear to me as to why the curse suddenly lifted. Rika chan was a good girl. It truly is a acursed world where nothing goes as planned, only suffering and pain remain. It would have bee so nice if Yuta and Rika would have just grown up normally and married each other AAAAAAAA, I would want to watch an anime showing that.

And it turned out that Yuta is some very big sorcerrer with great skills and stuff and judging from the poster of JJK Season 2 we should be getting Yuta in Season 2 for sure, though I think we have to wait well over one year to watch that happening.

I would like to add that, Geto's goal is pretty cliche and generic, "I want to create a world with only Jujutsu sorcerres", eh. We see stuff like this in so many animes. Though I would like to know why he wants to do that, we weren't given any solid reason behind his goal I think. And I don't think Geto is a bad person, he seemed pretty kind to his "family" and he was best friends with Gojo so he should be a nice person is what I would like to think.

About Yuta, I like him just as much as any other characters, all the characters in JJK are lovable so far.

I won't say I'm completely satisfied with this movie considering this was a prequel to the JJK Season 1. There are still some unexplained things like the injury on present (JJK Season 1) Geto's forehead and why did Gojo change is blindfold to black from white.

The post-credit was IDK pretty anti-climatic and at the same time it was intruiging to see that rope dude with Yuta and then Gojo appearing.

A LOT of story is left to uncover, I have no idea how many years it's gonna take to adapt the whole manga. It's been well over a year since Season 1 released and Season 2 will hopefully come in 2023. If we are lucky we might get to see the whole manga adapted by 2030 I guess lmao.

Overall rating from me would be 9/10. And I think I would have enjoyed this a lot more if I had been watching this alone in my room. Sucks tho, BD's aren't releaed yet, gotta wait till September for that.

5/5.

I Finally watched this movie!!! And yeah every second was worth it!!! Those fight scenes were so good!!! The movements, the camera angles, and above all the "ANIMATION" was awesome!!!! Mappa did an amazing job animating this!!! The part I liked the most was when Yuta unleashed his full power at Geto!!! And after seeing all those flashbacks I can't wait to watch season 2!!!

Tbh it was not really good as I expected it to be.
A lot of elements in the movie are basically inferior version of element present in main series or just s1. (Like bullying intro, meeting the 3 students and finding out their struggles...technically movie covers only 2 of them and fight with high grade spirit which came out of blue. There are things which s1 of jjk already did in a much more unique, refined and expanded way). As for the final fight with goto...even its better version was present in jjk s1 in form of school invasion. Though this movie final fight was kind of bad since all the fight which happened in outside the school felt like fan service recall to the original series supporting cast and the people with geto had barely any screentime to be even slightly developed character.

Only new thing about this movie was rika's curse spirit and her relationship with yuta which was also the selling point of trailer. Unfortunately it felt too much like a subplot...since this movie was crammed with lot of things. It didnt really give enough impact needed to carry the film.

Overall it was a ok film. But watching it after the s1 of jjk is definitely underwhelming

I liked it because the movie shows that Yuta who cursed Rika and turned her into a monster but ended up going to the jujutsu school where he made some friends and even became the target of an arch enemy of Gojo

Like the main series it's a cliché shounen plot amazingly done.
Mappa still being one of the two gods alongside Ufotable.
It was great seeing the focus on Maki's team and I really liked the plot twist at the end.
10/10 felt like 5 min. Hyped for season 2.

Yuta's really likeable. It was great seeing his backstory, and also parts of Gojo and Geto's past. It's like one big woven web and all the characters are starting to connect together. Hoping to see Yuta back with the other second-years in the next season! He's looking more cheerful at the end there and his hair's grown a little too.

I thought Rika's power would be always inside Okkotsu but no it's a curse bond by rejection yet it still lose to the most powerful curse, love.

The goodbye scene was tearful. They love each other so purely. Would there be another love for Okkotsu?

Seong-Hu Park is a genius. IDK why, but he works for me. It seems like he understands the emotional flow of action. Because of him, JJK became my most entertaining anime franchise. It's sad that based on leaks he won't direct second season.
Imagine normies saying: "Peaky Blinders is mid and overhyped. Just another typical crime drama show. Breaking Bad is much better lol.".

Finally I can watch this! Rika-chan is best yandere lol

7/10 it was fun seeing Yuta finally become strong at the end but the first half of the movie was hard to watch tbh

Also can we assume that Geto's forces were defeated at the end since haired sword guy and Gojou are like friends now? I would've liked to see the ends of each fight so that everything's resolved.

I actually rated 9.9 but this forum is not granular enough. So far probably the best anime movie Ive seen this year. Awesome story, awesome anime, epic action. But it loses its .1 because it did not have series MC in it.

However, it got its 9.9 from series characters, excellent story telling, new concepts and ideas and universe building. Most defiantly one of the best shows and stories running these years.

I wanted to watch this movie in the theaters but because of COVID, I couldn't. So, I was waiting for the Blu-ray to release and the wait was worth it, tbh. I loved this movie a lot. Yuuta is very likable and the plot is quite simple but it works. Well, for a 4 chapter long series, it was pretty good. The strong point of the movie was the animation. Incredible animation, beautiful soundtracks, and everything just fit perfectly. Great job, MAPPA, and the beautiful staff involved in this project. You guys are truly amazing.

Let's wait patiently for the 2nd season, everyone because it's gonna be a feast moving on. I just hope that this is the base animation for season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen, I mean I really hope that they pour at least the same amount of love they put in the movie in season 2 if not more than that. Please MAPPA, I beg you guys.

Great Movie! Enjoyed every second of the awesome adaptation. Really surprised I would still appreciate the whole story again after having read the source material for a long time now. While some people might think the pacing was fast, counter to that was how well it was adapted from the source material into a well made movie for how short the published work was.

I feel like the quiet parts were too quiet and the loud parts too loud, and I don't mean the sound mixing. We have this slow feeling backstory and build, but then we get to the school and it's shoving anime tropes at you to try and make it more intense. A lot of the movie was up and down like that. Third act was better with the sustained action, but the powers weren't established enough to be satisfying.
