I liked it, some people have mixed feelings with this movie but in general it wasn't bad. It had an interesting 'the world we live in is a simulation' and a simulation in a simulation is always a fun thing to see. Pacing was it was nice, characters while a bit bland weren't bad and well the ending had it's own appeal. Won't say it's a great movie but they sure did manage to make a nice story with it together with the cgi elements they used to create jt. So all in all a good watch! |

Well my first impression if this was 2D I would love it more. Here are some references: They were got reversed-character Everything it was ok but CGI is remind me about Relative Words kinda had the same visual. Story was into sci-fi also mixed up with Slice of Life. A bit drama and awkward Romance. Romance doesn't have point on this. It's like in a rush. Adventure was really fine for Sci-fi level unlike Relative World. The ending might twisted but you should find yourself. And some part is ambigous when they fight a fox-robotic. Overall worth to watch if you're into Sci-fi but I can't ensure this movie for the great. In the end just enjoy~ |

I have to give credit to Hello World for its creativity — I’m impressed that the studio even attempted to take on a plot such as this! It really reminded me a lot of the Matrix in the beginning with its approach on simulation theory, utilizing the two worlds and Naomi’s power of creating something from nothing. Though there are caveats, for one the execution was lacking. For instance some things in the plot are just left unexplained and you just have to accept it in stride — why the crow helped Naomi at the end, how stopping the Homeostatic system would create a new world, how the older Naomi survived in the end. If it wasn’t painfully obvious, the CGI was also nothing amazing. The storyline was so far-fetched that it seemed anything was possible and it did get quite confusing at times. However, I did like how they tried to make the plot as unique as possible though, even adding in romance and also the twist at the end. The end product wasn’t super polished, but I liked how different this movie was! |

ycleped said: This actually has to be one of the worst things I've ever seen. I sincerely don't understand how the score is a 7.81/10 and why so many people seriously seem to love it. For me, the writing was absolutely awful and the plot was incoherent and characters' actions were nonsensical. It really feels like the sole purpose of this was to show off impressive CGI fights and they just said "screw the story". I'd have to watch this again to properly write up a lengthy review of why I thought this was so awful, but as of now I'm pretty much just stunned by how positive it was received. My thoughts exactly, but I can't imagine myself watching this second time lol, even in 1.5x speed. The whole thing about how the simulation works and what the MC was trying to achieve had so many plotholes that it actually felt like 85% plotholes and 15% something decent. I'm not even a type of person who would care about the plot that much, I tend to base my opinion on general atmosphere and style of the anime, and if they're good, I'm likely to forgive some plotholes or even not notice them at all. But seriously this movie was just painful to watch, it's like they establish something and then forget about it 5 minutes later. "You just didn't get it, watch the ending again!" Oh well, the ending is like "we made something abysmal, let's try to fix it by saying that all of it was a hallucination", really convenient. I'll also mention that it was just plain boring to watch, a lot of scenes were really dragged out, especially in the second half, characters felt like they were made of cardboard etc., but that's just minor complaint at this point. My scores are usually high, I can give some trashy isekais a 6 if I watched them to the end and found at least something a bit enjoyable. But with "Hello World" I had to pick between 4 and 5. Maybe I'd like it more if it was really short (like 10-15 minutes, 20 at most) and most of the abhorrent "plot" was omitted, leaving only colorful changing landscapes of crumbling simulation (I actually liked these parts). P. S. CGI didn't affect my score in any way, I don't care about it. |

Nice movie, but the last 30 minutes were a huge letdown. I enjoyed most of the first half and thought that the first twist was pretty good. If they expanded this part a bit more (especially Ruri's personality was underdeveloped), then the twist would be even more impactful. After the first twist, the story was replaced mostly with action sequences (eye candy), so there was not enough time to give us a good explanation of the ending. For example: Why are they suddenly on the moon? 6/10 |

I enjoyed it .. it was kinda like ..Simulation inside a simulation inside another simulation. Also liked how they portrayed every world slightly differently ( animation style). At least in the end he woke up in Real world :) |

I really liked it. As has been pointed out, and likely confirmed by Another World. Ruri is actually struck by lightning and Naomi then spends all his effort trying to bring her back by joining the ALLTALE. After many failed attempts and injuries, he finally manages to go back to the alt world and succeeds in bringing her mind to the real world where real Ruri then wakes up. However, he's still stuck in the alt world, now him comatose, and the real Ruri takes up his role in trying to save him as the changed crow. She eventually succeeds and the real Naomi wakes up on the moon, much later and they'll finally walk together again, both in the new alt world and the real world. |

Honestly, this movie was hard to understand. That ending made it even more ambiguous that it already is. The only selling point was RieKug as the crow and Takehito Koyasu as the sensei. 7/10 though. |

It was okay if you want to kill time. But still the plot was quite confusing. It would have made more sense had they kept it a plain and simple time travel story instead of adding the nonsensical alltale sci-fi crap. The character development and romance also felt lacking. By the end of the movie I had more questions than answers. Like who was trying to save who? And how the hell are they on the moon? |

I've been bamboozled, thought this would be about programming as 'Hello World' are often the first words learned code. Crossing boundaries between data and reality, to think getting a girlfriend would take this much effort... never mess with quantum computers and even yourself... Pretty good movie with some nice cgi animation and cute moments. |

Well.. MC seems anxious about some things, I guess?.. Girl also doesn't seem too social, to be honest?.. "Why are you running?" - anime version.. ;D Oh no, his eyes aren't visible! Hentai protagonist came after our MC! ;D Eh?.. Would 3D map really weight that much?.. Even billion of these maps?.. I imagine that not really.. No idea, if you'd really need some super archive or whatever.. Can't we already storage such amounts of data?.. I wonder, if other people see raven as well?.. Because, well.. At one hand, raven is sitting on that future dude's hand - probably a strange view, how raven would just sit on the air.. On the other hand, raven was able to really steal the book before, so he is able to interact with another world.. Well, maybe it's something like he is only invisible only when interacting with future dude, or maybe he's just able to interact with Naomi's objects.. Either way - raven is probably strange.. Why that popular girl stalks Ruri and Naomi?.. And who is that character?.. Is it like future police, or maybe system antivirus, or something?.. That's interesting talk.. Of what adventure genre and sci-fi genre - what kind of feelings and thoughts they give.. Ok, so these characters indeed are something like antivirus.. Only homeostatic system is their name, but they seek the same.. Damn.. Man tried so hard.. He really was dedicated to that girl, huh?.. That's making me teary a bit.. .. At the same time, it's hard to believe in, as well.. I mean, it was their first date, or something like that?.. And he only knew her for 3 months.. Well.. This man's love is on whole another level.. This stuff is trippy.. So.. "Real world" actually also wasn't real, but part of the archives?.. So everything doesn't exist?.. Well, or rather - everything we observe - is inside this archive?.. Well, dude got punch in the face.. But really - I think his love was far more endearing to me as viewer.. Also, if he didn't do all these things - nothing would change, really.. And you, past Naomi, would just lose Ruri, and that's all.. Well.. What I liked the most in this movie.. Is that both Naomi and Ruri dedicated years of their lives to their love, to save each other.. Naomi's and Ruri's love is just so big and admirable.. |

Everyone is complaining about the CGI but I think this is the smoothest and cleanest CGI anime I've ever watched. There's still some "unnatural" movement by 2D anime standard such that character's head and body swaying back in the opposite direction but that's about it. Regarding the plot, it's a creative way to dispel any plot hole because everything's happening is not reality. The question is how real is the simulation compares with the real world. Are all the simulation scenarios made up? Did they really fall in love? Is she just a scientist volunteering to be a subject in the simulation? Maybe the answers are in the 3 episodes spin-off. |

Visually, it looks good. The 3D animation is pretty smooth, albeit noticeable. But, it's definitely not as jarring as it used to be, like with Aijin. I do agree with others that I think I would overall like it better if it was 2D. That is just personal preference though. I'm not holding the 3D against this movie as it basically does everything else right. There's a good balance of comedy and drama so far. This movie has some nice pacing. I know it's not the "true" premise, but when future Naomi came back saying his past self wanted a girlfriend made it seem like a much more fun series. Rather than saving the world, or taking down a future tyrant. He just came back in time to get laid. He's the hero we all deserve. Future Naomi is like, "Who are you calling not cute? Not my waifu. I'll slap the shit out of you kid!" Lmao... Naomi's Future Diary let him get a face full of booty. Yukiteru Amano is rolling in his grave. One thing of note is that I think past Naomi has the better idea. Simply following the script will lead to same string of events. So it probably is better off to try and create a different string of events to -- hopefully -- circumvent the tragedy that is coming. It might not matter, but I'd say it's got at least a slightly better chance of success than listlessly following along. Alright... well future Naomi's stickler agenda makes more sense now. Past Naomi isn't exactly real, but them turn tables was pretty brutal. Didn't expect Naomi to betray himself. A nice little mid-point twist. That weird old man, whom I believe is Zeke's VA, had a Pink Floyd t-shirt. The bamboozlement never ends. Future Naomi is also in a recorded world. All worlds are recorded. Actually, that might've been premature of future Naomi to assume, considering they are still trying to put Ichigyou back into Alltale. It might be more of like a bleeding effect. I guess we'll have a better idea as we get closer to the end, hopefully. Man, a Titan-esque thing would show up in a movie that Zeke is in. Anime will never escape the tyrannical grasp that is AoT. Based solely on the ending... I guess Future Naomi went into a simulation to save Ichigyou by bringing her consciousness back to what he thought was reality. But it turns out that wasn't reality, and actually he was the one being saved by Ichigyou in the "true" reality. I feel like that muddies up the plot a bit as, at this point, whose to say what even is reality? Maybe Ichigyou saving Naomi is a simulation too. Despite the fact that I think things got a little out of hand with the turn tables at the end there, I still really enjoyed this movie. Like, a lot. I'll probably start recommending it every chance I get. |

The aesthetics in this movie were good but sadly it got dragged down by the CG animation. The story in itself was kinda interesting. Since this same studio is adapting shuumatsu no walkuure, I hope they don't mess it up with CG animation like they did with this one. |

... ... Eh... Eeeh ? EEEH ?! Clearly my reaction on this movie. Like... What ? Mars ? Earth ? Saving earth I guess but... ? But in which "world", which reality, etc. Kinda super open this end. I loved his own sacrifice (adult Naomi) on "Sensei's" world, was moved by it but then...eh...? Eh ? The CGI was a bit disturbing for me, loved the "traveling world" animation but ...yep "Eh ?" that's it. |

Off the surface of the cgi, eccentric visuals, supernatural aspect, and sci-fi element. This was utterly awful. The plot is completely irrational and nonsensical. 10-Years-From-The-Future-Guy goes into a recorded history part-AI past of a time to before his girlfriend got a coma since a tree struck by lighting hit her on a festival. In that recorded past, which he and his team are "rewriting" he influences his younger data self to change "the past" of her accident, to reach enough data of her to then send to her comtase brainwaves resulting in her waking up from her coma. Illogically, the security system that they're in control of or hacking into is still proactive, they and his younger self are still "alive", somehow come out into the real world, and his girlfriend doesn't have her real conscious but the one of her past new data that fell in love with his younger data self. Thus, when the real guy "acts like a villain" or at least is played out to be, his younger data self punches him, saving his girlfriend with this random "God's hand" that can affect in place data and somehow the real world as well, through a random crow. The sound and action is flat, the voice cast are lifeless, and the character development and romantic story is subpar. All flat. ... Worse is how the true main character, the real Naomi Katagaki is oddly narratively replaced by the younger data past version. Then, somehow, which I still don't know if it's the governments, theirs or somebody else's, AllTale "created a new "universe" where she's "alive", even though it's all recorded history, now its own simulation AI or whatever. Except, all of that was to save not her, or not just her, but the real him... wtf... It's all damn stupid. 2/10. Easily one of the worst stupidest anime movies. Damn shame, because the idea of "traveling back to time to save your girlfriend" was intriguing. |

The real girl is a scientist/doctor who created the simulation in space to help coma-ed people. Whether she is really connected to the MC or anything in the simulation contains some form of truth is unknown to the viewers; therefore, open for interpretation. |

Nothing groundbreaking, but it was fun, and it hit all the notes it needed to hit. The most unbelievable thing about the characters was that they were willing to die for each other after 3 months, but that's easy to overlook. If you can get past the graphic style, this movie is pretty good. Hit me in the feels a good number of times. It helps that Ichigyo is so cute. Plus that's one hell of a way to get to know someone. Oops, sorry, my head just hit your voluptuous bottom. Lucky bastard. Easy 8/10. Wish it was longer. Can't really extend the movie, but would be easy to do in another format. Wish they didn't pan away from the kiss at the end. |

After watching this movie, I really don’t have a clear idea what happened at last. As a sci-fi movie it is suppose to be like that. They made it kinda like the movie "Inception". So I guess it is okay if some of you don't get it. But my guess what actually happened was and I am just assuming here, in real world after growing up Naomi and ruri was together working on a project about ALLTALE but naomi's mind got trapped into it, his consciousness was stuck believing it was the real world. Since he Didn't have many memories of Ruri he wanted to create some happy memories with her. But in that reality Ruri got into accident and went into coma. And the highschool Ruri and Naomi were also part of another consciousness where the 1st one gave birth to the 2nd ALLTALE reality (the highschool reality). But in the real world Ruri was trying to save Naomi to get his mind and body intact. So she also helped, remember the crow? I think it was her in some way (maybe she programmed the crow) as when Naomi woke up seeing Ruri he also saw a glimpse of the crow. After setting his mind free from ALLTALE Ruri got Naomi back. And now they are in the research facility in the moon where they were working on the project. [Ps: don't forget to watch the spin-off "another world" which is also (my guess) Naomi's 1st consciousness] |

(to quote a post i made in a different topic) it seems like the whole system was setup from the moonbase in a reducio ad infinitum kind of way to retrieve his mind from prerecorded data mixed with infinite simulations. while each world in its own right is "real", the whole genesis of the program itself seems to have been used for that end. also the crow was likely his girlfriend outside of the "simulation" speaking through the crow to try and guide him back to "reality" on the moonbase. one of the few anime i would call a masterpiece although it's more like a 9.5/10 but i rounded up. my only complaint is that it could have easily added another 30 minutes to better flesh out the relationship between the two for more emotional impact. |

I went in with decent expectations. Was expecting something good but not great. Came out feeling pretty good for some reason. The twists were interesting. The story was confusing at times, but it was quite the visual marvel. The 3D at first put me off, but I got used to it and by the end it felt completely natural. I really liked the main pair Ruri and Naomi. They're quite cute together. I did not expect the 2nd ending, but that makes sense considering that the adult Naomi realised that he himself was data. I completely missed that they switched to 2D for the real Naomi and Ruri, and that everything else was 3D (thanks to @Fuwa_san for pointing that out). I'm glad that everyone got a happy ending in the end, both the teenage 3D Naomi and Ruri and the "real" adult 2D Naomi and Ruri. To be honest, it wasn't that great story-wise. Visually, it was great. Music was pretty good too. But for some reason, I liked it. I quite liked it. It's 7.5/10 for me, but it leans closer to 8 so I'll give it an 8/10 on MAL. |

Maybe I should give it a 8/10 but it just didn't move me. It was ok to watch, there were many nice Kyoto animations, but I disliked some of that cg characters movement ("running" older mc at the fushimi inari, girls in class head movement, and few other things). The first part was better till the moment young mc rescued her from hospital. Music was not anything great also. Just a good movie to kill time nothing special beside the idea of the story. I like how it ended. |

- I haaaaaate the animation - MC is boring af, before, and some op isekai magician, later - The kuudere is cute, the class idol needs to die - Uninteresting contrived plot, both romantically and scientifically That's about it 😶 Aside from the scenery and music, it's pretty dull and forgettable, enjoyable for either gen Z or aficionados of quantum and shit I guess. Lookin good for a 10 year coma lol P.S. 📖 Reading actual books in such a tech-influenced society is an encouraging thought - even if not believable, but if this portrayal is the (very near I'm afraid) future of Japan, it makes me extremely sad. |
