The official Twitter account of mangaka Takahiro Wakamatsu announced a television anime adaptation of his and Hiroshi Noda's Isekai Shikkaku (No Longer Human...In Another World) manga on Monday. Noda and Wakamatsu began serializing the fantasy comedy manga on the Yawaraka Spirits website in October 2019. Shogakukan shipped the sixth volume on January 12, with the seventh volume is scheduled to be released on July 12. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga in English on May 4 and will release the first volume this October. Synopsis An adventure in another world with cute girls by your side and video game-like powers–sounds like an anime fan's dream, right? Not so for melancholic author Osamu Dazai, who would quite literally prefer to drop dead. Video games haven't even been invented yet when he gets yanked into another world in 1948. Really, all the fantastical adventure he keeps running into is just getting in the way of his poetic dream of finding the perfect place to die. But no matter how much he risks his hide, everything seems to keep turning out okay. Follow a miserable hero like no other in this cheerfully bleak isekai comedy! I love how people are saying this is disrespectful, while completely ignoring Dazai from Bungou Stray Dogs. Yeah, this is disrespectful, but an anime only treating Dazais suicidal thoughts as comic relief isn't...anime fans in a nutshell. |

Dazai in that anime wants to kill himself cuz its funny. No one ever said that was disrespectful. If this double standard didn't exist, yes, to a certain extent this isekai is disrespectful, but then again, I don't really care regardless. |

It's just a comedy manga based on Osamu Dazai. Have you even read this? I assume not, because those who had read it said it never tried to disrespect Dazais life or work in any way, it's just mixing comedy with a character based on Dazai, just like Bungou Stray Dogs. |

Bungou Stray Dogs does the same thing where Dazai has comic relief moments of trying to kill himself. That’s the running gag. A character based off of a suicidal person trying to kill themself in a comedic way. No one gives a shit about that. In fact many people find it funny enough to make him the most favorited character of the show. No one finds that depiction of him offensive so why are they saying that here lol. Bunch of hypocrites. |

Seems a bit sad, I get that it's not something to take that seriously but ahhh it just feels dirty especially when they're directly referencing his writing and using a somewhat more realistic depiction of him physically. Style wise I mean, obviously this doesn't look so much like the real man bit it's definitely close enough to be a bit eeeehhhhhh |

I read isekai 'ningen' Shikkaku and clicked on but what the hell ☠️ man turned actual dazai suicide to isekai "dazai and comedy" 💀 well less hope that this goes out to be good with less disrespect to dazai but wth everyone turning irl dazai into sum shi of their own. |

I've actually read a bit of the manga a while ago. I don't remember much, but most of the time they call the guy "Sensei" rather than by his full name. Idk if this would calm people's worries tho |
- ratings literally don't matter. (especially the top 10 or whatever) - anime characters aren't real people. - why do you have signatures on. lol |
