With some new isekai, there might only be 12 or 13 episodes in the series, so the creators/producers might be hard-pressed to squeeze much world building into it. I think NGNL (a short series) does a lot with its imaginative and distinctive art style, but series like Log Horizon (62 episodes) and Overlord (52 episodes) have a lot more space/time to world-build and introduce layers of complexity or subtlety.

I think I try to stay as neutral (and philosophical) as I can, usually. It would be foolish to expect new series to keep emerging, that will cater to your every wish/desire/taste/interest, or be exactly what you were looking or hoping for. It's probably best to be humble in your approach to these types of entertainment spectacles, and just be happy that you have something to watch. It's much easier to be an armchair critic, than to actually write/draw/direct/produce your own audio/visual content/creation.
