I started this series last night and was wondering why I watched episode 6 fives times back to back. Starts with Yoko winking at Simon, I felt that wink was for me. SHEESh
I don't even have to explain why I liked the rest of the episode HA

Oh my, so many cameos. Mahoromatic, NGE, Gunbuster, Diebuster, Abenobashi. Nice.

So many people complaining about some recap, but there was none on the blu-ray. Well, I guess I'm lucky. It's funny how Kamina's definition of "manliness" includes seeing mountains, heels and valleys of woman's body. The show should turn more serious at some point tho. So far we have a lot of side characters being introduced.
By the way, when did Simon receive his own drill big enough to make a hole in a wall? Did Yoko actually see him through the hole? It's definitely not the drill which is used to turn on Lagann, so what is it? Can Simon actually take off a drill from Lagann and carry it around just like that? Or was it just a convenient plot device to pull out of nowhere :thinks:

It's the drill he used back in his underground village to dig. Duh.

To me even the uncensored version of this episode is the worst. Fanservice. The accidental ass fingering including inside perspective was disturbing.

Not everything was bad but it is one of the bad episodes overall since it has little story or character development aside from the Simon drilling the wall scene or finding out Yoko has the hots for Kamina and viceversa.

Good morning indeed.

What a great fanservice episode. I wanna ride that oppai conveyor belt. And Kamina getting his hopes up everytime a piece of their clothing disappear only to have something covering them was hilarious.

I agree with Yoko that Simon doesn't have an identity of his own. He should find something only he can do and not stick too much to Kamina. I believe that Simon is the underdog of this series who can surpass Kamina.

Viral is back and the fight in the preview looks hype as hell.

Damn this episode was really hilarious. From the start to end, it was perfection.
And my condolence to those who watched the censored version full of recaps.

Amazing how two of the inn girls looked like Rei and Asuka and then two other girls look like Ichigo and Zero Two, the show is like a link from past to present mecha

This show is supposed to be nonstop action but these last two episodes have been not that? The last ep was super boring honestly and this one was a half recap, which just makes no sense to me. The final fight was enjoyable to watch but there's been too much "meh" to this point to make up for it. I'm going to keep watching but if it doesn't pick up in the next few episodes I might drop this.

The animation in this episode seemed to draw inspiration from the old Tex Avery / Looney Tunes cartoons in certain scenes. If you watched the Director's Cut there's some flashbacks to earlier episodes in here. Kind of a reunion episode where things seem too good to be true before the penny drops.

That's not the only thing that drops in this episode. Plenty of fan service.

The recap was pretty meh but overall a really great episode. And what a weird way to end the episode lol.

If it wasn't for flashback this could have been the best episode. That "Good Morning" scene was hilarious!
And Viral is back, I'm excited for Naked Simon & Kamina vs Viral!

The cut version of the episode has like twelve minutes of recap, and the uncut version plays out like one of the worst episodes of Kill la Kill. An unexpected dip in quality for an otherwise pretty genuinely funny show.

That was a pretty hilarious episode it’s just a shame that there were quite a few people here that saw a censored version and I can only imagine it was a version that was on TV because apparently the episode contained recaps. I honestly feel bad for the people that got that version because I went and watched that same episode thinking it was gonna be that version but I was so very wrong it was very uncensored doesn’t really help my case that I was watching the show on DVD.

Anyways it’s pretty neat to see Viral again. Poor Yoko at the end. XD

This episode was extremely weird; first off they defeat this one gunman and it's such a vapid transition from one scene (where they are about to punch it) and then POOF another scene where its just on the ground; same thing with the music, absolutely no transition whatsoever... it just cuts. I assume it was done for comedy intent, but it wasnt effective to say the least. Also when they chase the gunman and fog appears out of fuckin nowhere? Also, everything beyond the scene where they meet the old man... just, what in the actual fuck.

I see some lazy writing here, they lived underground their whole lives and now on the surface when they encounter things they've never seen, they treat them as something normal and talk about them with complete certainty, I mean it's not even about the fact that this normal building in a post-apocalyptic world seems suspicious, but it's really the first time they see such a normal building and talk about it as if they already knew it xD Do we really, only in episode 6, need to waste time repeating and reminding us of scenes from previous episodes? Overall, a terribly boring episode, there wasn't really any mystery here because it was obvious that something was wrong here and it was definitely the beastmen's doing and the fight itself in this episode was unengaging and too chaotic, I'm still waiting for this anime to get going.
