Is this worth watching if I didn't really like the first season?

I thought the first season was mediocre, but it seems like people like this season a lot more. Is it that much better? I haven't played the game.

yes. It has a lot of Comedy, mc is still stup1d, but is progressing Step by step.
also New characters are bringing fresh air.

if you see it for comedy, designs, and mid story, continue watching. To pass a good time.

if you are looking for good story, characters development (too much of this), this is not your type 👍🏻

they are uncovering the past step by step(from s1), so far I have found it enjoyable, i can say BETTER than s1 and a decent story 👀

I think the story and fights are better this season, but it's really up to you.

If I didn't play the game, I guess I would not have watched the anime.

Can't really tell, you have watched 3k plus anime. I don't even know if anything can impress you at this point. You have already moved to a higher plane. But animation is improved (It was really good last season, it's even better now), they are also exploring the lore, and last episode was a touching one. You can always try.

The reason I liked Princess Connect in first season because I spoiled myself about the lore. It was all comical in first season, I had my laugh, but I was, and I'm aware about the potential of the series. The execution so far has been fabulous.

It’s pretty similar so tbh I’d say no. But I do think the general quality improves and it has got a bit better but it’s the same sort of thing.

If you didn't like the first season, don't. This is season is overall better, but it keeps the same premise.
My favorite show this season. It's not for everyone.

I thought the first season was great. This season has a higher rating than the first season because of the sequel effect. People who didn't like the first season are skipping this season, so it's only us fans who enjoyed the first season (or played the game) who are watching this season and giving it a high rating. It's neither better nor worse than the first season. People who've played the game are saying that both seasons are unfaithful to the source material. If you didn't like the first season, don't bother with the second season.

If you care about visuals than yes. This 2nd season does two things better than s1. First it adds an additional layer to Pecorine's character (character development). Second it gets slightly intense, violent and emotional at the end, not for to long, but long enough for the viewer to appreciate it.
