| -This soundtrack is still pretty consistently impressive -o shit it's h a p p e n i n g b o i s -young chariot in the opening -somehow i missed that the forest from the first episode was called arcturus forest. everything makes sense now -Seems like the comedy is back in the show, which is a breath of fresh air. Also the phone globe is pretty swanky -is this the much anticipated politics and social uprising arc -dude nice a magic roomba -From the OP, it would seem that Chariot and Croix have the same relationship that Akko and Diana do -i don't know why but seeing akko in the middle of the sprites with that fuckin headband was hilarious -why am i enjoying this so much holy shit -Akko's little speech to Lotte and Sucy around the lantern was super heartwarming -miranda is cute -idk why but croix having all those modern magic advancements makes her seem like an evil elon musk or something -That ominous grin Croix have when she was walking away from Akko after they ran into each other in the hall -sucy's got reflexes -oh i thought the fire sprite actually died -croix just used resurrection magic, that cannot be a good sign -in fact that whole thing seemed staged to win over the teachers' favor now that i think about it -yeah with that scene at the end there is no way croix is gonna be a benefit to the school -I'm liking that ED a lot better than the first one, although I currently vastly prefer the first OP to the second one (in both terms of visuals and music) This was an absolutely lovely episode, in somewhat of a sharp contrast to the past few episodes. The episodes focused on the Samhain festival weren't as magical as, like, the first 10 episodes of the series. I can't really pinpoint what this episode did differently, but it was probably the return to focusing on comedy that made it so enjoyable. Just letting Akko do as Akko does paid off in this episode because I'm a total sap for things like the scene where Akko, Sucy, and Lotte are sitting around the lantern near the site of the sprite protests. Akko's just super wholesome, which makes me look forward to her road towards becoming a witch. Can't say much about the Croix developments because all that's currently known is that she's plotting something. I'm expecting some sort of showdown between her modern magic and the traditional magic that was taught at Luna Nova, and I'm also looking forward to that. but seriously it's super refreshing to have the comedic aspect of the show back after the festival |

| Well, that's a lot of new changes. OP's awesome, miss the ED, but this one's good too. And we are also introduced to Professor Croix, our new teacher for modern magic (Definitely NOT a villain, seriously guys, Build-Up) but the upcoming conflict was well-built annd constructed. I just loved when Akko went to the faeries to convince them to stop their strikes, only to join their cause and end up becoming their General Secretary! My, they grow up SO fast indeed! And though her motive is as clear as day *cough cough*, Professor Croix has been well-built up as a sympathetic villain (If that IS the route they are going for), she starts out admired by her peers and students, and she even managed to get Akko to like her (Remember, up until this point the only teacher who she warmed up to was Ursula. and the principal to a lesser extent) That's huge! Though, I'm surprised no one addressed the mechanic cybeast that popped up out of nowhere near the end. Are they going to bring that up next episode? And is it me, or am I the only one who ships Professor Croix, with Lysandre/Fleur de Lis from Pokemon X/Y anime? (What? They are kinda similar. Both start out nice and admirable, they both specialize in technology, AND both want to *ahem* "destroy" the current world for a new one, metaphorically or not)  See? |

| Pretty alright episode. As expected of Trigger looks like they're putting an actual plot in the back half of the show. But while I don't find Croix or the conflict between traditional and modern magic interesting. I am glad they are at least doing that much. It seemed pretty clear to me from the first appearance of the Minecraft fairy Croix was behind the strike. And I thought her whole story might be resolved in a single episode. It's good they're taking their time and building stuff up. There were other elements of the episode that didn't work for me as well. I thought the whole Ursula is finally going to tell the truth. And then gets sent away for a whole episode business was frustrating and thuddingly obvious. I also thought we saw a little but noticeable dip in animation quality. Not uncommon for longer shows around the mid season. But still kind of disappointing. Especially After the very pretty previous episode. And finally the sequence of the fairies rampaging at the school was really lame and stupid. I do like Croix. If they didn't capture my attention this time, I am still excited to see what the series does with them. And the principal was quite amusing in this one too. How she just went with the flow and readily accepted the technology and all that. But the episodes real saving grace was Akko joining the picket line. Protester Akko was quite amusing and her confrontation with Diane was a great moment for both characters. |

| Man, I was totally the kidding back when I used the term "Comrade Akko" but it seems the joke has now become reality. It's cool though, because this is so classic Akko. Even cooler is that this time she didn't act on a whim; she had a legit reason for joining the union's cause. She was just generally a delight in this episode. It's confirmed that Croix used underhanded tactics to lift the ban on the use of magitek on school grounds. The question remains, what are her true intentions? Simply bring about a new golden age of magic by embracing technology, or something more sinister? The fact that the events in this episode were predicted by 3 of the 8 visions is rather foreboding. "There are other things that require your attention more urgently?" We know that Diana knows a great deal about the triskelion business, did she also figure it out that Akko is supposed to play a key role in it? Ursula was just about to fill in Akko on everything, but she has the worst luck. I'm looking forward to her confrontation with Croix; she knew her by name. |
| Getting Gurren Lagann vibes from this. The whole energy talk alone reminds me of the drill from Gurenn. I wonder if they'll do a timeskip too. The ED looks like its showing an older Akko. There's no way Akko is going to be anything like Chariot at her age. Specially with the work hard to achieve greatness thing they're trying to convey. | OP is a bit spoilery I guess, I like the old one better (and ED too). But anyway, it seems we have big new plotarc now... Croix was portrayed as a villain but I don't believe she's one, kinda like Akko and Diana. But... all that technology seems very alien to old-fashioned and traditional world of witches.. I wonder if there is any split coming as I prefer them to do things with traditional magic. |

| Okay. Nice to see 1st 13 episode on Netflix but stupidity of that site....like hell I wait to fall for last 12 episodes. XD Love the 2nd Opening...it really builds up the Hype on possible Real Rivalry between Akko and Diana (or at least one where Diana really acknowledges her as rival) and also to Arrival of serious times and Antagonist!! Hype is starting! So...freaking Nice to see Akko getting some respect and Awe! XD Waaait....1st that Wailing Ghost Princess...and Now this Monster strike....2nd Vision? so....those visions where City is burning and people are rebelling and throwing Molotov Cocktails is going to happen? New teacher Croix....Looking cool...but...that Form....2nd Last red Vision with evil witch....it's her? HYPE IS BUILDING! X) O_O Akko....respect you get from festival...is getting lower......BUT ABSOLUTELY LOVE HOW SHE SHUT DIANA MOMENT UP!!!! AKKO REALLY HIT LOW...Daaamn it was beautiful!! couldn't stop smiling! | New OP and ED. It's obvious that we entered the second story arc. I'm happy to see Akko and Diana holding hands. They'll work together as a team in the future! :D I REALLY dislike the new teacher Croix. She wears that red cape and looks like the typical hero from Studio Trigger (Kamina is that you), but even before the last scene (we got enough foreshadowing) it was obvious that she caused all the trouble in order to force the other witches to accept her modern "solution" and gadgets. I think she wants to spread her artifacts in order to take over the academy. (Besides, I don't think that draining the Ley line completely can't be good in the long term.) I completely support Finnelan-sensei in this regard and I'm glad such a serious and competent witch doesn't trust Croix. Urusula-sensei saw Akko having a new role model, but I don't think she was jealous, but surprised. She knows Croix and I don't think they were friends in the past. I hope she doesn't blow Ursula's cover in front of Akko just to screw Urusula. Other than that, we got some funny scenes such as Communist Akko going on strike against the Bourgeoisie (poor Diana, that was a low blow, Akko. lol It seems that Akko doesn't understand that life isn't as easy for Diana as she thinks) and Sucy being spit soup at and using an umbrella mushroom. xD It's nice to see that this show still has silly comedy despite the serious and dark issues that are coming. (Even though I didn't like Croix's technology (it's not as cute and innocent as Constanze's), I gotta admit that her "evolved broom" was funny since it fulfills both broom's functions. It flies, but also cleans (it works like a roomba, an evolved broom, indeed lol).) |

| Akko is a freaking genius, clearly. "Give this union more money that I'm not even apart of!" Though her calling out Diana was pretty funny. "Arist-o-CRAT!" I wasn't sure if I trusted the look in Croix's eyes, but I feel like she's trustworthy/smarter than the other professors in that she's not scared shitless by the concept of a tablet. Even if I don't necessarily like her little scam to get the "new era" accepted. |

| "Chloa" for Croix -_-, aren't the stars theme and french parallels with Chariot obvious enough... (fansub transcription) I know it takes place in the UK but the fairies strike was weird, unexpected and exotic for a jap.anime. Overall , it was mostly fun(ny) thanks to Croix, the strike etc, but I hope that Ursula won't be forcefully kept away from Akko just because she must stay ignorant. It was painful enough that Akko's own stupidity delayed their time together in the beginning. The "modern magic" of Croix looks rather excessive though. as much as the witches stucked in their traditionalism. But at least, she's partially right. Too bad she will be proved entirely false since she's a villain. -_-' Also, did we really need an ennemy ? and coming from Ursula's past? @Tomislavr7 I hope this won't disturb the series 2nd part too much. 4/5 |

| Overall the episode is fun, but not the best. There is a big boost to the main story, Diana starts to melt a little, she too begins to take on funny faces, fun to see her this way. |

| Croix is like the Elon Musk of Luna Nova... but SHADIER. Love her character design though. Also, prof. Finnelan needs to enjoy her life for once. What's her deal? She's such a grump. But THE funniest scene in the whole episode is right here, folks XD  |

| Love the opening song here. I loved the last opening song but this one was even better, plus I used to listen to this more often too. Another good episode, introducing Croix and her modern magic tech that's now a part of the academy, although she definitely has some more cynical intentions. The fact that Ursula saw Croix at the very end with Akko shows hints of something stirring up there. Other than that, it was fun seeing Akko be in a union with the other fairies, as she wants to be the best witch she can be but not at the expense of other species/races. She seems selfish all the time with how much she wants to be like Chariot and a bit obnoxious at times but she does put others above her when it comes to helping them. |

| Diana has her 'blood' and Akko has her 'fate.' There's no real difference as far as the story goes and this kind of stuff always blurs the message in anime like this. 'Modern magic' is super convenient but is literally incomprehensible to a witch like Lotte. It's not 'alive' and can't be communicated with. Interesting. |

| With that shot of Finneran distrustfully looking at Croix, I hope we get a cool Professor Snape-esque redemption for her. I'm pretty sure that we will as there is a reason she is a professor, I hope she'll cast some really powerful spells and completely shock Akko. |
