My (yggdrasil) god, that child was ugly. Looked like Kouki in his old days.

The transsexual sadist deserves 1000 years of a$$ r@pe now, haha.

Overall look:
- Nice OP and ED songs. I also remembered few ost tracks while watching. Might check it.
- Interesting timespan. That vodka intro was kiiiiiiind of funny.
- Episodes were ok in the long shot, but the main plot seemed like taken alive from some pure hentai series.
- Many yuri and ecchi scenes were quite unnecessary and forceful (hua, you get that irony?).
- Some annoying (non)solutions, like why the hell didn't he simply kill that little girl (Mishio) in the end?
- Judging from lifespan, dog must have been immortal female (seriously?). I wonder if there were also dog angels lol.
- Characters, characters, meh.
- Few minor stuff I found popping out randomly or having minimal sense, but I didn't and still don't care enough to check and investigate. Let it live with false accusations.

Mediocre series. I didn't fall asleep, though. Gets five from me.

Well if there's anything I learned here, it's that this is definitely a good show for kids. Let them explore. That's the stage when they start unconsciously touching their genitalia. I can wholeheartedly recommend this to any budding parent.

Is what I would love to say if the anime wasn't trying to piss me off every single time. Shit gets good, then bullshit happens. Why it happens? "It's not supposed to be questioned."

FUCK YOU

Why did I say that? Why do I love saying that? "It's not to be questioned."

The character attachment value, surprisingly, is quite strong. After finishing the last ep, browsing through the first ep will be feelsy.

But overall, this is just fanservice anime for gore fags and other fags who enjoy brutal sex.

Well, that was something. I initially started this anime because I've heard it very disturbing but it was more intriguing than disturbing.

So Apos is just a sadistic hermaphrodite who wanted to remain the Guardian forever pushing the brides into the Yggdrasil. Rin takes Tajimamori's Guardian role, pushes Apos into the Yggdrasil and gives birth to the next Guardian. Yay!

But even though the anime is finished it's not 100% explained. Like, is Tajimamori the first Guardian and he wanted to make the world immortal, according to that legend? This way it would be explained why Rin says that through her child the entire world will be connected to the Yggdrasil. She would want to continue his dream. Even this OR this process of changing guardians happens since ever and Tajimamori isn't the first Guardian (wich is most likely imo). If that's the chase I'm assuming the old Guardian and his bride are killed by the new Guardian when he mature. But that way the ending would be a big cliffhanger...

Either way, the anime was great. Not what I expected but definitely worth watching.

I also thought the end would be a mess up, but was happy with it tbh. It's def got some sick scenes in this one, but i still ended up enjoying it. Although the end may of had a deeper meaning that I didn't understand, I still appreciated it.

I have small reviews for almost ALL anime I've seen. Unlike any regular MAL page you've seen.

WHAT. THE. FUCK?
honestly, what the fuck did i just watched?
as i said, they took an ending out of their arses, rushed to present it and ignored every other open end they left the episodes before.
this was meh at best and thank god it was only six episodes.

and, dude, when will they make real lesbians on anime? it's a bit frustrating to see the yuri tag and all that girl on girl action to end up with every single subject paired with a man.
i mean, even if they had reasons to have relationships with girls, does a girl really need a reason to simply like girls?

I loved the RinxMimi moments, and they could have continued with it.
What kind of idiocy led them to pair Rin with some male that was hardly shown during the entire series? IMO Most anime with love is crap, why is Rin even attracted to him anyway, if I remember correctly we have only saw him stab Rin in the past and Rin just suddenly wants to be embraced.
I loved the Maeno thing going on, it made me realize how it would be feel being immortal- seeing someone, then seeing their child, then grandchild.. all grown up too.
But Genta is still dead.
Overall, 9/10
I really did hate how Rin and Mimi got raped by Angels, then again they both did desire it temporarily.
Especially when mimi got raped, she would cry and I thought she was cute but still.
I was thinking 8 or 9 but gave it a 9 cause it wasn't a really bad ending since it did look like Rin had two wifes taking care of one child. Now I even wonder what gender is her child?

This ending episode really didn't do it for me unfortunately. I tried so hard to understand what was going on with the Guardian, the Fruits and people dying (very inconsistent throughout the series), Apos' plan ... ack, it just was so confusing for me and I didn't really get it lol. I guess happy ending with Rin surviving and becoming and Angel somehow?! I didn't really get what happened in the past with the general guy who ended up as the Guardian though ... OTL Also is it just me for does Rin's baby look super creepy?! Well whatever I guess :P

Overall I thought this show was a lot better when it had episodic plots, the last arc was too confusing for me and introduced a bunch of plot inconsistencies >_< I really liked the music and action scenes and the art/animation was decently good for such an old series. The characters got kind of confusing since there were new ones every episode basically lol. I also didn't really like the last arc and ending :( 7/10

I didn't enjoy watching this, as in it's not the type of anime I'd typically go out of my way to watch. However, as far as involving sexuality heavily into the plot, the fantastic concept of having each episode take place years after each other, the constant changes in technology complimenting the ever evolving complexity in the crime cases, the amazing usage of repeated themes and imagery between episodes to create constant connections, and the exploration of immortality as both a tool for character development and a major aspect of the story, this is probably one of the most daring, yet successful anime I've seen that's also highly graphic in nature. I still question a lot of its choices, but by the latter half of the show, I was genuinely interested in how the characters managed to weather the changing times.

I was pretty satisfied with the ending, although I feel like it requires a few watchings to understand fully. Although, I think you could probably skip the bit in the opening where everything's being set up. There's clear female imagery in the uterus symbol, and the egg, and I'm sure there's more elsewhere. I might need to bring Northrop Frye into the discussion!

As a whole, this anime has done many things I haven't seen in other anime, or in any other art period, and that on its own is amazing. I would love to dive in and look at the hyperbolized symbolism. I might write an essay instead of a review.

10/10, I actually have to shift all my ratings down now because this anime is a step above anything I've given a 10 before; anything I've ever watched.

A lot of the parts made me sleepy for some reason but there were instances where I was wide awake. It's a fine watch but it's not really within my preferences for me to get a lot of enjoyment out of it. Seeing Apos get owned by Rin by making him all hot and bothered before spit-swapping his dad's white blood before sending him off with that stubborn mercenary was satisfying though~

Everything started from the world tree and everyone will soon be part of it once again. Funny to think that baby would soon be the father of humanity eventually.

Well, my complaint about Rin seeing only men as lovers, and seeing what she and Mimi did as just playing around, was basically 100% confirmed. Fuck. That stuff where Rin longed for Tajimamori for 1,000 years... That shit was pretty stupid in my opinion (she met him ONCE, under the effect of the lust that immortal women feel for angels, and after that they had no contact for like 800 years), and totally devalues Rin and Mimi's relationship.

Another big complaint that I have with this anime is that Rin starts off as such a badass, but by episodes 5 and 6 she's reduced to a whimpering mess in practically every scene. They seriously ruined her character in the last third of the show.

I kinda regret watching this anime to begin with, and I wish that it had stopped after episode 3.

I have a few thoughts:

- Kouki's fruit fell into the sea in Eps 3 but Rin found it back??? There's like near zero chance for that.

- Apos being hermaphrodite doesn't affect the actual plot, because he's the current guardian, meaning he's a special type of angel, so he has the angel superpower + immortality + not horny

- Tajimamori is an ex guardian but he's still alive? It's seems that a guardian and an ex guardian are no different to each other, one of them can impregnate Rin to create another guardian. and what's the purpose of a guardian? protecting Yggdrasil from what?

I wanted t give it 8 but it's a solid 7, enjoyable but flawed.

Quite the finale there. Confusing but at the same time, interesting and unique for sure. I'd give the anime overall a strong 5 bordering 6/10. It had some really mediocre episodes in there that definitely lost my interest and took it down compared to the 7 I had it as before, have grown up a bit from it, but still some good stuff was there about it too. The music was really good (the opening and ending songs by GALNERYUS were dope as hell) but the animaton/drawings were a bit rough overall with some looking really choppy at times, not too surprising for a Xebec anime. First episode was definitely my favorite one. Bittersweet ending there for Rin.

I found this to be an engaging and entertaining series. 45 minute episodes don't usually go by so fast. But I thought it's bloody and sexual imagery could have been used more to accentuate and illustrate its idea and themes of immortality and divinity, rather than almost always being so sadistic and pandering. It's clearly more torture porn than art. I enjoyed it, though the final episode was lacking compared to the earlier episodes: too much happening in quick succession ruined the slow burn kinda sorta mystery that the show maintained for the first 5 episodes.

This is one of the most disgusting, insulting, gratuitous pieces of garbage I have ever had the mispleasure of watching. The incoherent "plot" exists solely as a framework for the writers to shove their most repulsive fetishes onto the viewer and it's infuriating. That said, even in this show's brief moments of cohesiveness, the narrative ideas being played with are some of the most cliche and generic ideas imaginable with the obligatory religious imagery and butchering of foreign mythologies.

I have a burning dislike for the creative minds behind this. Seriously, what the fuck was wrong with the people who wrote this story?

Pretty cool show. Definitely is a good recommendation for Elfen lied (my first anime). Damn sad that her husband is dead. But I guess I should feel worse for Mimi, since Rin didn't have love for her even after so much they went through. Oh well. I found the show interesting. Kinda wish there was a s2.

Great ending to the show, wasn't expecting it but they did manage to tie a lot of the lose ties and make it make sense (as much as it can within that specific universe, lol).
Thought it's definitely one that needs to be watched binged, otherwise many details from previous episodes just fly completely over your head.
Also the subs for the last episode were pretty effy but okay-ish for an overall grasp of what's up.

Was really missing this sort of gritty anime, time well spent, cravings satisfies for a while :p

This episode probably topped all of the others in terms of sexual exploitation and violence. However because of how the show portrayed these themes, the sex and violence didn't feel entirely out of place and made sense in the context of the story. I did get really confused about the ending of the show involving Yggdrasill and the Guardian, but it didn't entirely shattered my expectations and it at least it went out of its way to explain what was going on. Also, that baby at the end needed a smaller forehead. Overall, 8/10 would watch again.

Finally finished this lewd series... 👀😅😵‍💫

The conclusion was acceptable 👍, however, I really need a sequel where there's no fighting or killing for that matter. Even the seggs are... 🤮
The early episodes were actually interesting to watch but seeing my favourite side characters die each episode was really exhausting... I didn't think that each episode had a time gap and a big one at that.
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

It was OK. It explained the last pieces of the puzzle, but it also made everything feel really underwhelming and the happy ending really killed it for me.

Overall a very shallow and mediocre story, take way the nakedness, the sex and the torture porn and it shows how boring, flat, stupid and contrived the story is. Literally, make it the most tame anime ever and preserve the plot, it will lose 90% of whatever appeal it has in 14 year old horny edgelords who think they are mature or adult-children who never grew up mentally or emotionally past the age of 15.
