THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Up to this point, the show has been mostly adventures but it's about time The Twilight finally shows up.

Pretty fitting for a penultimate episode if you ask me. No doubt some characters like Yu feels pressured too. So much at stake...

Holy shit. Holy fucking shit... Best thing I have watched all season long. I was afraid they would just keep baiting Asuka x Yu, but oh boy did this episode deliver!

I especially love how Yu got a CD instead of cassette tape like everybody else, wonder what the implications are? Probably something like: straight relationships= the norm but an outdated view (cassette tapes) gay relationships= condemned but a modern view (CDs)

And take nothing away from everything else in this episode either. The teacher's lecture (and the whole episode really) felt like something out of a Shaft show, well Tamamura Jin was working with Oonuma before this so no wonder. And that soundtrack in the final fight was beyond epic... just wow. Anybody know when the OST comes out? I'm gonna listen the hell out of this track.

Since loli Asuka lost her brother as well, maybe he is not the Twilight King, he's just somebody that all Asukas have lost across all different fragments, and that loss is what fuels all Asukas, their lives and differing personalities. It would fit well with the show's themes, but then why would the twilight want to reach this Asuka? Well, next week can't come soon enough!

Interesting episode that did well in expanding upon the nature of twilight and the clutters. The proposal from the emissary was pretty intriguing. The reference to the weakness that magical girls have when they are transforming was amusing. The clutters interrogation of the girls was interesting due to both the layout and the fact that he used doubt as a weapon to shatter their motivation. The girls counterattack after reawakening their motivation was just so satisfying to see. Yuu's admission of her true feelings combined with her activation of her new powers sure was dramatic. That last battle was pretty intense but the girls impressive teamwork and their new attacks sure managed to end things in style. That ending though sure was a cliffhanger.

In the end, it's all about living your true self and not hiding behind the facade to other people that emits the true power.

Almost everyone has their own power, and FINALLY Yu gets her own Equalizer powered CD that is surprisingly a nod to modern times.

And...about time where we get to learn more of the Twilight and its deceptions to deter the truth away and bring forth the lies.

With Asuka left hanging in the balance, I'm quite specced how all this will be drawn with the finale.

That fight was absolutely dope, has to be said! It looked stylish, had decent CGI use and the colors looked cool.

Episode is really good. Has a dangerous clutter, because it is intelligent.. but in brute force, he's no match for the three girls.

Yu finally got to transform. Why she got a CD instead of casette tape?

Good animation fight with the giant noizi.

DAMN CLIFFHANGER!

So a yuri ship sailed? Randomly unexpected. Also if that note about the cassettes and the CDs with the orientation thing is for real then...congrats progressives, you won. Meanwhile I'm laughing. Soundtrack was on point though. Gonna be interesting to see how this ends.

Amazing episode. I'm surprised that the many things happened during this episode and yet it didn't feel forced.

I like the ending scene with Asuka wishing to sacrifice herself for the better of her friends and the world. Congratulations Akanesasu Shoujo, you increase my score a bit.

Now we have a weird love triangle between loli Asuka, Asuka, and Yu. The loli looks so lonely, Asuka should go with her. Just kidding. xD

This is the best among the low tier shows I've watched. Glad I didn't drop it at episode 1.

Lol spider-sensei immediately attacked before the girls transformed. He's clearly seen enough magical girl shows.

And nice, Yu finally transformed! Because she loves Asuka, natch. How sweet :D

I think Asuka is following her little self because she thinks she's lonely, after all it is her and she knows herself. It was more like helping her more than getting rid of twilight from the world.

The power of yuri made Yu an Equalizer... as average as this show is overall, I give it lots of brownie points for having her actually confess, even if the reason she'd become an Equalizer was obvious from the beginning.

Bullies are just lonely people. And it seems bulli loli Asuka is no exception. Someone get that girl a friend!

And what's this? A 3 frame panty shot the show thought I would miss? Z A N N E N DAGA, ORE WA PANTSU NO OU DA.

What a great episode!
Yu finally transformed!
The fight scene where Asuka (using Seriousuka's sword) & Yu (transformed) was choreographed very carefully! just deny the subs and take close attention to Asuka & Yu! it was great! The whole fight between the Noizies, my Chuuni mode was to turned-on lolz!
but we still have loli Asuka Boss mode that they need to handle.
I think the four girls will stop Asuka because looks like she's really willing to sacrifice herself cuz their own world is at stake!
5/5.

A beautiful episode, personally. Although Yu's actions were to be expected, the way the scene was executed was wonderful. Really seeing this series was worth it. I hope that the last episode will secure my final score.

EroYuu's yuri crossed worlds to make honorStudentYuu confess.
Epic fights from Yuu, especially Mia's missile barrage, and their tight collaboration, shows how close the group has become.
Sensei part was rushed, but revealed some good character psyche for those three. Nice they overcame these twisted half truths to become equalizers. Good continued use of the tape & walkman symbolisms.

Was surprised to read all the reactions about yuri both here and in other places. I initially understood Yu's confession as accepting Asuka's character, saying that she likes her the way she is, even if Asuka is not acting true to her inner feelings. Another reason why i think this way is that, despite what the subtitles say, as far as i know, in japanese language the word `Suki`, which Yu used, has the meaning "to like something/someone", while for romantic kind of love, the word `Ai` is used.

As SummerADDE pointed out above, it's a vinyl disc, not a CD, and those actually predates cassettess.

Wait, did Yu and Asuka actually kiss? It better not be that lame forehead bump Asuka and Siriasuka did during their "sleepover", or else I'll have to do this

Either way, pretty good episode. It's kind of like a mahou shoujo version of Eva.

This episode surely had a goddamned cultural movement on their pacing and so aesthetics with the way they added every framing. I admitted that shit. Still the best here was the consul session with that Clutter Teacher. The other battles were, tbh, really fucked up my mind so i couldn't barely thing any good. Yeah, even with that ... confession ... and that 'last romance engagement acted' ... I mean, a bit facepalming when they would do that too bold like hell. But... I can't do much. Congratulations for that great step up The Twilight Girl! So lets see the end of this miserable show.

The absolute madlads did it, a villain attacked before the heroin was able to transform, those are rare. Great episode, full of action and emotions with a good deal of Yuri shipping, their finisher moves were pure hype.

Yikes.. Also kind of late to be turning this into yuri? And quite a forced and out of nowhere one at that.

So let me see if I get this ep messages straight...

Mia: You can't be "cute" and stronk.

Nana: Doesn't need no man.

Chloe: Doesn't actually want to be alone. Friends will do though.

Yuu: Suddenly best friend girl crush!

Asuka: Goes with the flow and sacrificial hero trope.

-_-

---------------

It seems like they attempted to force in so many of the "correct" types of narratives and excuses last second. To top it all off, it's ending here while leaving so much on the table. So many actual important details  left.

This series had so much potential.

It's decisions and media like this that makes it not hard to understand Japan's current birth rate crisis. lol

Be honest, if a boy had said the same thing while princess carrying a girl, you would not think twice about assuming it's romantic.

Either way, words often have more than one meaning:

https://jisho.org/search/suki

The corresponding entry on Wiktionary also says the 'suki desu' expression can mean 'I love you'.

'Suki' is in fact the default word to use when confessing to someone. ("I like you" is a perfectly normal way to express romantic interest in in English too.)
