I think you're right that developing a character before their relationships are important, however, you're totally wrong if you think Just Because has been developing its characters, for example; can you name a single unique personality trait of any of the leads? (and "boring" doesn't count, anyone who has seen it knows they're all dull) Also, you never said why it is a problem to compare two shows. They're obviously in the same genres (School, Romance, Slice-of-life) so why not tell it like it is? |

| Pretty chill episode which will probably be how the rest of the series flows, slice of life is always relaxing to watch. The kids weren't that bad albeit acted a few years younger than how they looked. I'm wondering what's up with the lack of emotion Izumi's character; his personality is just pure apathy with no hints of depression. |

| Positive this will be good, but worried this will be a bit tiring to watch. Easy to watch now but probably won't be in the future. TgK was less so since the relationships were straightforward Bringing kids to a...something pmsl. Dialogue from 15:00 ~ 16:30 was so excrutiatingly awkward, the writer should get a medal if it was intentional |
| I can already tell this series is going to have some melo-drama (not that it's a bad thing) from the beginning of the episode. Shit will get complicated but so far, I like it, not bad. I can tell the relationship between the 3 ex-classmates are a bit complicated and we already have a love cubicle formed. |

| Really, that's what I'm waiting for in this anime. Souma, Natsume and Izumi are the characters that I think will have a big highlight throughout the anime. The opening music combined much with the theme of the story. My wishes that this anime will be good still persists. |

| Awfully slow pacing of the show... Honestly... But I will continue, it seems a pure romance gem. Rare one. I know it might not be the theme, but I thought it might not gone romance, only slice of life high school life... Hope I'm wrong though. I kinda can't get it with Natsume (AKA flat Ai-chan XD). Just... It feels not logical. No one mentioned it yet... But now... The chatting App is LINE APP confirmed. It even came in real name. Surely promotion no? |

| Nice. It's slow paced but I'm liking it so far. Especially the character interactions. The background art is quite good too. Wasn't really expecting love polygon tho *sigh* As long as it doesn't get cringe worthy. Haruto messed up the confession scene xD Can feel the awkwardness here, haha. |

First, Just Because! is very slow pace some like it and some hate it, but as it heavily depend on personal taste so we will leave it like that. Second, Tsuki ga Kirei are among the firsts to use Line chat to convey the message which is used in Just Because! (so we knew that Line had already become part of Japan pop culture and push the mailing thing we used to see a lot to the side), plus they are in same genre so we surely will see a lot of similar thing. But to point out that going the different way is a sudden failure is way too harsh. Yes, Tsuki ga Kirei start out with a faster pace, but it also true that Tsuki ga Kirei have very little to do with the past of MCs while we can told that Just Because! MCs will be entangled in their past in some degree. The main plot of Tsuki ga Kirei can be interpret in many ways, in my opinion the main plot is about to overcome the communication obstacle while in our modern life it is very easy to reach for others we somehow lost our words on the way. For the audience to get along with what they are trying to convey it a must that the audience knew who they are and what they like but Just Because! do not have that limitation from their plot. Just Because! as of on what we knew so far will be about how people 'changed' when time passed, we knew that Haruto is much the same while Natsume changed a lot on the outside (even Eita can't recognize her) became student president and etc. but as Eita returned something had resurfaced again, as for Eita I think he left something undone in the past and now he have to face it. I maybe wrong but I think they intent to leave the audience clueless on what happen in the past to made us curious. (my guess is they will tell it in flashback compare with present day) |

| -i might be an episode late on this but o shit the characters have actual noses -photo-club pres is in the OP, good enough for me -komiya's fuckin precious -somehow i thought the morikawa girl was also connected to izumi and co -"hey kid i'm gonna be your brother-in-law" -morikawa's brothers are actually kinda endearing. i didn't really like them when they were first introduced -that little piggyback scene was pretty cute too -wait i just realized something -did haruta have 2 moms -i totally expected morikawa's brothers to just annoy haruta to no end but this is fine too -aw man i got baited into thinking we'd get more komiya screentime at the end there Kinda pleasantly surprised that this episode didn't do the thing they did in the first episode where there was like literally nothing tying anything together. Pretty much everything related to Haruta and Morikawa's brothers was cute, although Morikawa herself seems to be as interesting as a wet noodle. Komiya's easily the most entertaining character so far, and Eita and Natsume are pretty middle-of-the-road. It seems like most of this episode was character introductions, which could have easily been put in the first episode. Episode as a whole was pretty okay, but it coulda used more Komiya screentime. |

| It might be an effect of the artstyle but some of the characters are pretty bland. The dialogue too, pretty low stakes. But towards the end there were a couple good scenes at the aquarium. |

| The awkward confession of Haruto was really funny. Really curious how this will turn out. Sadly, Morikawa doesn't see it as a date. Glad they had a good time in the aquarium even the kids tagged along. Haruto's photos in the aquarium were funny. I guess it's a success for Haruto. Hope they do well in their entrance exams. Takes me back.. Also, lol at the fondling joke. OP was nice too.  |

| Whoa...that train station (the red one with the fairy tale roof) hasn't changed in 46 years. I have a photo taken in 1972 of my late father and younger sister standing in front of it. This episode's pacing reminded me of Umimachi Diary...which isn't a bad thing. As for how things are unravelling once Izumi shows his face again, that definitely has my interest. Which is good. Because I had felt a bit obligated to watch this show after I purchased a clear file in November that featured the artwork of the main characters standing on the monorail station platform. |
| So far this anime is nice, though I can't say it's great or anything yet. I don't feel the OP or ED are that special, but it does fit the show's tone. The pacing is still slow, but that's not a bad thing. With the slow pacing, I can understand the characters more. Although I feel like there's not much development on the main character and HIS relationship? But I like Haruto and Hazuki here. But it was frustrating to see, why didn't he confessed at some point? (I know, I know, it makes sense, doesn't make it less frustrating). But winning over her brothers was a big plus, and Hasuki looks like a really nice girl. Hasuki's my favourite character so far. I still don't understand the relationship between Izumi and Natsume much. Izumi liked Natsume, what about Natsume? Did their relationship only go so far as Natsume not wanting Izumi to tell Haruto about her (old?) feelings? Maybe we'll get more as the episodes move forward. Some shots were good, but others I didn't really like. I still can't get used to the animation style. |
