| The special episode and this are pretty much the same. Except the special episode covers the whole fight with the chain guy, not like this which get separated to 2 episodes. Anyway, i'm glad this episode had a decent animation, even though they still used CGI in here. The soundtracks were also good. But, Asta's voice was louder than in special episode xD it still unique though, so i hope i'll get used to it lol. |

| Why is a new voice actor voicing the protagonist of a series that is supposedly popular? Is he the only one that was ok risking his voice constantly screaming? Idk man, the villain is shit but that's nothing new for shounen anime's first enemy so it's quite ok, but Asta and his voice is a mix of absurdly annoying and hilarious of how bad it is. Not sure if I will give it another episode. |

| I thoguht Asta's voice in the previous version was annoying, but his voice here is as worst as the previous one. Doesn't helps the fucker never stops to talk very loud. I guess that is what happens when you brought a newbie with little experience to voice a big role. Other than that, the series doesn't looks like anything special. Let's see if things at least become more interesting in the future, since shounen starts don't tend to be very spectacular. Also, those CGI chains looked like shit, you can do better, Pierrot. Btw, this adapted part of the special, except for the flashback between Asta and Yuno and the defeat of that random bad guy, who it seems it will be shown next episode. |

| Great first episode, however I can see myself becoming bored with Asta he annoys me wayyyy too much; I do however see promise in his relationship with Yuno and that seems interesting, the ending was good and I can't wait for more if I am being honest. (CGI chains gave me flashbacks to handshakers though ahah) |

| Its a very cliche series, no doubt avout it, but the animation looks pretty nice and I can't wait to see the fight scenes. Overall a somewhat solid first episode to set up the rivalry behind our two main characters. I just hope that magic is included well in this world as something that shapes it into something a bit different from rural medieval europe-ish setting, or differentiates it a bit. Also Asta's VA get's annoying pretty quickly. 6.5/10 for this episode. Also, please calm down guys. I know it's nothing revolutionary, but it isn't absolute garbage as some might say. Typical doesn't mean bad. |

| I read the first few chapters of the manga in anticipation for the anime. Pretty much the same, just a few added things. Wow, Asta is screechy. All of the time. I was not prepared. Yuno is, on the other hand, super down-to-earth and talented. It seems the town really does not encourage Asta’s lack of magic, but towards the end of the episode, that typical shounen thing happened where the protagonist gets an unnecessary amount of power in a tight situation. It has some solid art and smooth animation, so I am intrigued. A good start to the anime, which I’m sure, will gain a lot of popularity (it already has). |
| Black Clover is definitely not a quality anime but it had been entertaining so far for me. The manga also started out clichely and corny but the fight scene had been great. The VA need to imrpove though, I don't mind so far but it will be annoying to listen to it after a couple of episodes. At least there will be a story and no crazy power spike thingy to balance the show. You won't see Ichigo going god mode here ;o |

| Pretty good starting episode. The animation and art for the episode was actually quite well done. I actually really liked the scene where Asta was about to cut the log, it was pretty dynamic. I also don't think the CGI chains were bad at all, I just hope Pierrot stays consistent with their quality. Faithful adaptation so far, for everyone who's read the manga it's pretty obvious what to expect and for newcomers I will say that Black Clover may certainly feel pretty classic with all the standard elements but if you like Shounen in general then you're probably gonna find yourself entertained by it. I hope Pierrot stays faithful to the manga as well. It's gonna take some time for me to get used to Asta's VA, I keep imagining his voice to be different that what it actually is, I feel like something like Hinata's voice from Haikyuu would work much better for him. He certainly is a little too loud but that's his character after all. |

| Oh no... I didn't like this at all. I read some of the manga but I avoided watching all the reviews of the first episode. The animation was good... Every thing else was bad. The main characters voice the cliches everywhere. Ugh -_- |

| Asta is so annoying. I also don't like the amount of shounen tropes and cliches that were shoved into the first episode; from his ''I'll never give up'' to ''Let me yell and drag all my sentences'' to ''I'm super excited and hyper'' to ''I want to be [insert dream of preference and yell it at the top of your lungs]'' to ''I appear to be ordinary but I'm actually suppper special''. I can dig some Shounen tropes, but I can't stand it when they're shoved in my face so soon and so many. I don't find it interesting or exciting, because it feels like I've watched and read the exact same plot happen a dozen times before. Only in a different setting. I need to be able to distinguish Asta and the plot from the hundred other shounen stories, so I can have a reason to watch this anime and not re-watch or re-read a bunch of other shounen anime or manga. It's only the first episode, but for me it's not a very good start. |

| Lol at hating on Asta, well you'll just have to deal with him because that's the kind of character he is and very common in shounen. Like with Natsu from Fairy Tail, I didn't like his voice either but give it a few episodes and you kind of stop caring. |

| My initial thoughts: - Naruto? - Naruto... - Naruto. Black Clover, from what I’ve seen so far, is a shitty Naruto spinoff with magic instead of chakra, more generic abilities/plot/etc, and characters that are even more annoying. Oh, and it’s a yaoi. |

| This episode can be summed up in one word: meh.. Like it wasn't terrible but I'm getting real Fairy Tail vibes in the sense of random power ups because 'muh friends'. That ending scene with Asta's grimoire felt so flat. And atleast Yuno is pretty, but GOD these boys need some real personality. I'll stick around, for now, and see how it develops but I can definitely see myself possibly dropping this. |

The manga's score is still so low because alot of people started hating on it because they thought it was a bland Naruto rip off and gave it a super low score. Im dropping this in ep3 if that doesnt fucking stop, I love my ears. Also.. the premise is fucking horrible even by shonen standards, is this the new generation of FT+Naruto? "foh mah fuends!" shit with some yaoi love like Naruto and Sasuke? |

| The first half of the episode was pretty cool, the second...ummm I don't know what to say. I don't expect a series like HxH or FMA, but that transformation at the end was very cliche and disappointing. I'll keep watching until the end of the show, but I don't think it will get better than the average battle shonen. |
| Generic characters, annoying MC, cliche and predictable. Wasn't really enjoyable for me either but the ending wasn't that bad other than how predictable it was |
