Dunno why everyone is so angsty about Charioce being the morally grey character we all expected him to be.
He needed the gear form the angels, so he asked, and when they didnt give, he took it. It's not like they can use it anyway. Then they declared war on him, and well, can't do shit if you're dead so he blew them up.
Demons have been assholes to humans since the beginning of time. He also possibly needed more manpower or something.
The logic behind his actions are easily justifiable/identifiable. Only problem is the set up of the "twist" I guess.

Honestly, the only bullshit part of the story is the Nina x Chris ship, but you know, can just say it's love I guess.
Guess the other bs part of the story would be him being cocky enough to think his plan would work... Please make it so that it would've worked if he didn't get interrupted. I'll forgive the writers if this happens.

Oh yeah. Wtf happened to Allesandro? Never got what was going on with that guy from the start.

Let’s say Dromos is like a nuclear weapon alright?

Country A owns nuclear weapons, can it easily pass it to other weaker countries that want it? no. Why? because it is powerful and causes mass destruction. Country A are the gods in BahaSoul. They had stone slabs that if put together can be built into a destructive weapon like Dromos that’s why they sealed it.

Country B is a weak country that has been attacked by a powerful neighboring country C. They know that if they acquire the weapon that Country A has they will be powerful and no one will mess with them thus decided they should get it by any means necessary. Country B are mankind and Country C are demonkind.

Country B decided to build a nuclear weapon since they were able to acquire the tools necessary to build it. If country A and C found out that they are building a nuclear weapon they would have stopped country B because that means they will own a powerful weapon making them more powerful.

Saying mankind, gods, and demons should cooperate building Dromos is like asking US, North Korea, and Russia to cooperate on developing the most powerful weapon in the world. Would that be a good idea? absolutely not because they would use it against each other anytime. You’d think a country like US wants North Korea to be on the same power level? of course not.

That's how politics work.

As to why he didn't cooperate with demons or the gods? they're too greedy. Gods don't want humans to be on par with them in terms of power because that means they will worship them less since the main point of worshiping the gods is to be blessed and protected also he asked for the stone slabs and they refused. Demons have been terrorizing humans for ages even after the Bahamut incident. They tortured, killed, and destroyed villages (watch episode 10 again and see how the humans situation was right before Charioce XVII was crowned king). Enslaving them (wrong yes) but it was an advantage to him since he needed more manpower to rebuild Anatae and keep humans safe since mankind is his priority too (making demons slaves is the only thing he wanted the other things are the nobles doing not saying he is not at fault but it wasn't his own doing to torture or experiment), and also to get on with his plans faster since there was a time limit until Bahamut appears (they didn't resurrect him the old scientist said they found signs of his awakening) and also time limit for his onyx knights since they are literally living corpses. He has the tools and means to create a weapon that rivals Bahamut's power, if not now then when? a king who is willing to give up his life to be a part of a weapon like Charioce comes in every 500 or 1000 years, if he left it up to the gods and demons they would have waited until the seal gets weaken and then get involved too late. It wasn't just vengeance for his mother but also he took it as a duty since he wants a better world for mankind where they fear no one including Bahamut.

Gabirel and Lucifer would have cooperated with him since they both don't want to face Bahamut? Lucifer might have but its a risk since last season it was some demons who wanted to resurrect Bahamut and Lucifer had no clue, this scenario could happen again by some demons who want Dromos for themselves and Gabriel is too cocky and wouldn't let him build Dromos, to her humans have to be under them not on the same level or even close, remember last season when Michael said Jeanne might be the knight of prophecy that will end the battle with Bahamut and bring peace but she was like no the glory has to be ours "for the angels and gods".

His actions brutal and wrong indeed but they make sense. He wants mankind to be able to handle themselves on their own, to be independent and powerful.

WHY ISN'T CHEERIOS EVIL??
Why can't the MC be in love with a scumbag? lmao
I mean, he's still a scumbag...but he's a scumbag with good intentions and that just makes him way more boring because there's little actual personality there.

Tbh this episode just reminds me of that one Fairy Tail arc where

Kind of hoping Charioce dies because otherwise he might actually end up with Nina and he seems to be the route of her character issues. Or maybe they'll go a different route and have him somehow survive, but Nina might just decide too much water's gone under the bridge.

The major problem Virgin Soul has for me though, is that its interesting characters are throw to the dogs and wasted. What about Rita? Azazel? Heck, even Favaro didn't turn up properly until half way through, and Lucifer hasn't really done anything aside from sit around reading books in a room raining feathers.

Hoping things get resolved in a decent way in these final two episodes!

Lol this still doesn't justify what the King did in earlier episodes.

I would have expected the descent in the field of both the army of Giovanna and the one led by Lucifer, I am a bit dissatisfied. Chris's motives, to destroy the dragon, do not seem justified, I would expect something more, yes! I'm curious to see what the director invented in the last two episodes.

Nice end-card.

Slaine Alessand #didnothinwrong lol these grey hair characters...
Sorta expected of Charioce real goal with ruthless means, but nice backstory from Prof. Don't recall this Martinet deathmetal whatshisface.
But with the goal clarified being godhand vs Bahamut, Char made quite some mistakes along the bloody way, including making enemies out of demons & angels and keeping everything secret.
Jean's misguided war should be epic (repeating her history? ouch), but I'm interested in getting back to the Cinderella subplot.
Oh and waiting on Amira (x Favaro).

So they re-awakened Bahamut to kill it once and for all? All the information they go by is some shit they found from the guy that awakened Bahamut 10 years ago? Yea that doesn't sound like a bad plan at all /s

I cannot say I'm surprised Charioce turned out to be the guy that is doing all of this "for the greater good" (although he probably just once revenge himself but w/e). Don't really like it either.

I guess now there might be a slight chance we get to see Amira at least once? Well, it's not like that would do much now I guess. Way too late as it was with Favaro, too.

Prelude to an end... I wonder who will sacrifice this time to finally destroy Bahamut.
But they better unite everyone just to finally slay him for sure.

Anyway, knew that Charioce will take their side, I just wonder how his tale with Nina end... probably with their final dance...

Gods: If we cant use the Dronos, no one will!
Demons: We could use the weapon, but we decide to cotrol Bahamut instead.

That's my guess why Charioce didn't tell anyone about this, because gods would get jealous that they couldnt use the weapon. (I agree that gods have too much pride)
Killing demons is act on vengence probably, Demons COULD kill Bahamut, but they decide to control it, leading to death of Charioce mother.

I feel like ending will probably "reset" the whole progress, people will continue to pray to gods, even after learning that gods are douchebags that never cared about humans...
and demons? well, they will continue being the "bad" guys.

So the whole demon genocide will be for nothing...

yep that's how gods are
(about reset) probably so lol

Finally, they revealed Charioce plan it was about time.
Is it just or Bahamut's design has changed a little?

I don't really understand the point of mass murder of both demons and gods if the only thing you needed to do was slay Bahamut

Where do I even begin with my problems with this episode?

First off, this show gives a lot of focus to the wrong parts of Bahamut. They spend their time on some stupid romantic subplot instead of actually trying to develop Charioce and his faction which is honestly a shame because Charioce, the Onyx Knight and that old guy had a lot of potential as characters but they kept being secretive about them until it's almost over. Making their intentions a plot twist was a terrible and predictable outcome. I saw the whole 'Charioce is actually doing the right thing' move a mile away because the writers insist on keeping him in the dark from the viewers. Charioce wasn't even the one who thought of the plan to slay Bahamut. It was the old guy so they should have fleshed him out considering that he's literally the instigator of all of this. The leader of the Onyx Soldiers is also yet another wasted character that didn't even have any name. Can't believe they just dumped all that important backstory into a single scene. It especially sucks because Charioce was an interesting character at the start until they decided to go full confidential on him. He looks like a fucking puppet in all of this.

In the end, it looks like Nina's shitty romance subplot had no overall effect to the bigger picture. Although I'll have to see that for myself since there are still 2 episodes left. Maybe her love will change some things which I doubt is any good.

The analogy I just read in this thread between the gods, demons, humans and real world politics does not work in this story because the US, N.Korea and Russia don't have a clear common enemy like Bahamut. It has been shown time and time again that the gods, demons and humans can set aside their differences and work together to seal Bahamut away because it is a clear threat to everyone that has no reason existing in the first place. Heaven was mourning over the loss of so many gods because of Bahamut and I'm assuming it's somewhat the same on the demons' side as well. It would actually be beneficial to all of them if they destroy the damn dragon. Speaking of the demons, I fucking hate how underdeveloped this whole faction is. We don't really know what their purpose is. They're just there. The anime likes to cut corners with Charioce and keep him as vague as possible. They should have shown him bargaining with the gods and demons about the matter instead of trying to keep it a secret from everyone while making enemies with everyone at the same time which would be detrimental to his goal. He also exudes so much overconfidence breaking Bahamut from his seal like that without any backup plan. If Dromos failed to kill Bahamut, now what?

The way they handled Bahamut in this season is so bad. We knew the endgame was Bahamut because this twist was predictable af but not because we know that's where the story is headed.

Still waiting for them to explain what that green crystal is and what power it holds.

Having a new MC was the worst decision ever.

The amount of Bs the king was spewing was beyond Imagination.. His destiny? more like his own grudge going full retartd. Honestly if he was more transparent I think he could have avoided lots of blood shed.

I don't know about all the hate, but I for one am just really enjoying the series :D It's a gem and a fun ride. I like the pacing of the show as well.

Sure the characters are not perfect, but I appreciate them, even Charioce with his complex character. They each have a role in the bigger picture. Aww I miss El/Mugaro-chan.

Looking forward to the next episode :D I don't want this to end.

Bahamut has risen again... Hide, whilst you still can!!!

What is with these types of shows with characters who have an obvious plan in mind but tells no one about it until basically the end? It feels idiotic to me, ngl. In this case, Charioce could have told Nina his plan at any point but refused to because of his ego? Stubbornness? For shits and giggles? Idk.

No wonder Nina is so confused about Charioce. The show itself bloody doesn't know what it wants to do anymore.

My Boy Chris really revived Bahamut to try and kill it 100%, thanks to some personal grudge, and committed many atrocities to see it through. A little foolhardy and arrogant if you ask me.

Would have been ideal if they went into further detail about Bamahut's inevitable resurrection.

I was sure that we will have something like that (main opponent of the story turns out to be a good guy who is dedicated to fight bigger threat and sacrifice his life for humanity).
But why Charioce had to hide his true intentions? Why fight with gods? They would surely cooperate with him if he reavealed what he knew. It doesn't make sense and only reason why he behaved like that is obviously poor scenario which required that kind of plot twist - which, as I said before, wasn't even suprising.

This
Since the very beginning of the series they keep saying that both Heaven and Hell made immense sacrifices to seal away Bahamut, f---ing twice; there's no way they would not cooperate with him if he simply revealed his intentions. This is just lazy writing that insults our intelligence
Overall I felt the 2nd season had some pacing issues but wanted to give it an 8 cuz reasons. Now they pull this kinda poor misunderstood hero carrying the cross all alone BS on me, I find it necessary to -3 from the score therefore it's a 5 max
