That video was like some brain washing shit.
Though TBH I'm not sure why a graphic video will get such a reaction. Unless he never seen it I guess. For most that video might of turned them on and being with their lover... it got steamy.
But the coercion seemed pretty real even if not 'forced'
Japan must love their human rights rating sinking to the depths of challenger deep.

This anime is almost like an Asimov-level cultural commentary, but through a love triangle romance plot.

Honestly I just need Lilina and Neji... that's all and I'll give this anime 10000/10

The white hair is appearing a lot faster than in the manga... they're probably just trying speed up the pacing
This red hair goverment girl is like that older RA that tries to cool and always is trying to friends...
Like that one RA from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt... goddamn do I hate them both (but you a healthily hate maybe not a dislike of their personality and the words they choose,..)

Nuuuuuu!!! Her "glass slipper" ain't ready for your third foot!! XD

anyone else notice that reference, or am I reaching? I feel like the "...selected you and your partner to fit together like Cinderella and her glass slipper" implied more than they said, but kind of still in context with the "theme" of their special class.

Anyways, laughing hella hard at first cuz we all knew after a little while it was going to be the awkward sex ed class, with the obvious awkward showing of a sex tape. But then cringed hella hard towards the end cause it started to feel like Yuakri was gonna force himself on Ririna.

I would probably die of embarrassment if my sex-ed class was like that back in the day. That was practically government authorized porn, and it looked like the whole room was getting steamy.

This is so ridiculous, holy shit. There's so many opportunities for this story to be actually decent, like if they bothered to address how this doesn't comply with basic human rights laws and how LGBT people are being forced into straight marriages if they want to have any form of real life, but... nah, let's just make it "boohoo this boring brown haired boy can't choose between two girls :(" instead. Even the only actually gay character they have is getting swept under the rug.

Seems like Ririna made a friend.

This is turning into a harem with each episode. Nisaka seems to know about it and so does Igarashi.

they explained what will happen if they break up or divorce and it too harsh penalty so it better this way in all aspects

? Yeah, the harsh penalty is my point. That's... against basic human rights lol. Coercing people into forced marriages or you ruin all their chances of achieving their dreams is messed up. It's bullying children ('cause that's what these characters are, remember, children) into following what the government says if they want to have any chances in life.

This episode in particular really highlighted how terrible this situation is. The rumour going around the room was probably false, but even without that... making kids sit through a lecture that basically amounts to "sex is great, so get baby-making!" when they're still only just 16 and then making them spend the night together after watching porn to get them horny is really messed up, and I can't believe so many people don't seem to see that. The lecture itself seems pretty innocuous, sure, and under normal situations would be a good attitude to have about sex, but in context it's a big red flag.

Like, if people still don't get it... Think about Kakegurui, also from this season, where this exact situation of having your partner chosen for you and basically being turned into a walking womb for the sake of other people is a horrifying messed-up punishment for being in debt. There's almost no difference between what happens, but there it's acknowledged as awful and here it's just a happy go lucky romcom aspect to push forced romance drama.

Ahem, a very adult-ish episode to say the least.
Seriously though, I wouldn't have guessed the Government going to such extremes as to pass on condoms and show a movie regarding sex. Personally, I couldn't help but snort every time sex was brought on in the subtitles. As I expected, however, the Government forces these couples like through threatening Nejima for instance and the seemingly harsh penalty. Curious to know what that would be. Additionally, I wonder if Nisaki was aware of this though because his expression clearly signified that he did and was reinforced with the scene with an agent(or so I presume) talking with him. Nonetheless, it was a good episode and it will be interesting to see how it goes on from here.

Well, before we get to the elephant in the room, I think it's interesting that Nisaka and Igarashi both have links to the Ministry, not least because of what this means in terms of how Nisaka feels about Nejima. It also paints an interesting light on the conversations he's been having with Misaki in the background, because this makes me think that he's been trying to warn her of the consequences of her actions, similar to how he did with Ririna on the camping trip. Also, though I don't think it's as likely, it could also explain why the two Ministry people - the same two from the first episode and the same two as a couple of episodes back - seem to know what's going on with Nejima; Nisaka could well be reporting on it, or Igarashi could as she's been shown to have at least some link to Misaki before.

As for this whole lecture thing and essentially coercing them into sex, yes it's fucked up but I'm almost entirely certain that that's the point of it; I thought last week the mentioned consequences for not going along with the arranged marriage were not as harsh as the premise would imply, but their approach to forcing the couples together in this episode makes it apparent why. After all, most of the couples were clearly in the right mood to go and have sex after watching the video, and it's reasonable to assume that any known "doubters" like Nejima are dealt with via a different kind of pressure, as we saw from those two Ministry people. Also, that rumour about the punishment for not having sex is certainly convenient for ensuring that all proceeds as the Ministry desire, so it wouldn't surprise me if they were the ones who spread it to begin with. After all, this all seems to have led Nejima to decide that he needs to do it for both his sake and Ririna's, regardless of his feelings for Misaki.

The F is their Government doing? Subliminally influencing them to bang as much as possible once the pairings are made? I guess that's one way to keep these couples together, and to avoid looking for alternatives...

Nisaka obviously has some connections to this ministry, otherwise why would he have been provided information about their policies and events ahead of time. Igarashi though.... who would've expected her to be the genius program writer type? She also seems to know something about Yukari there, considering she singled him out for commenting when she was monitoring the meetup.

I still get this feeling that Yukari is somehow a "different experiment" of sorts that the Ministry is conducting for data-collections sake or whatever. The way that the Ministry workers are going about implying to him how they know whats going on between Yukari and Misaki seems to have a little too much of a scientifically "We're adding in some conditions and seeing what will happen" feel to it, instead of an downright exposure and shut down of their relationship, as would probably be the case if the Government really wanted to end it and such. Plus, considering how so many people seem to know about this breach in the Ministry's system, it would make even less sense if the Ministry didn't explicitly do something to affect this relationship (like move Misaki and her family away to another town or something).

I dunno.... the whole entire setup feels like some crazy scientist's experiment for me right now.

Having a secret traits falls from Igarashi, She seems such an interesting sly character.. As a matter of fact, pretty undeniable secret which she has a connection between the partner of Yukari and Misaki, Not for long when the matching pair up could either false as a lie or it can be right. Seems like the worldbuilding cycle can be described more as a lifeforms where all particles get separated and move to another specs. Apart from Nisaka's pair could be Misaki (That's just my expectations) , while they keep arguing and staring each other without batting from the eye.

I feel educated... 101.. tsk tsk But srsly.. Yukari it's just a prank bruh.. xD

Fuck you Liden Films! You are destroying suspense of the story by including story elements that should have been hidden for many many more chapters FOR A REASON! It's like telling a detective story with revealing culprit upfront ffs!

First Yuusuke's secret and than this. Shuu's identity and relation to the story shouldn't be revealed so early! Some following story elements won't work properly this way!

Also, why inserting opening fanservice to the point where it doesn't even make any sense? (at this point Ririna still wasn't conscious of Yukari or had any feelings to him so she wouldn't even have such dreams). Inventing things that weren't in the manga is great way to go, really *sigh* At this point I wouldn't be surprised if we got anime original ending. This adaptation is a mess.

Well, it wasn't bad episode per se, but whole government instruction session scene had a lot more tension in the manga. And that cliffhanger probably wasn't even necessary although I understand why they did it.

Anyway, thinking about what Yajima told him this time, I think realized what the future story would be about.

This is only my guess but I rather put spoiler on it:

So, that's pretty much it, Love and Lies, Koi to Uso, the reason why this series is named like this.

That's a really interesting yet vividly possible way how things will go.

Plus, it seems like the Government cares solely about the Birth rate...what latest science proves that Ririna is the best possible match for Nejima? Probably just a big bluff.
And I mean, Takasaki and Nejima would already bang a few times by now if they had time to be with each other, wouldnt that be ideal for this system to boost the birth rate? So fishy.

Nothing is confirmed...

1.The official guy said "just kidding" so the camera stuff is probably a lie...

2.The penalty thing is just a rumor. Even if rumors in anime are usually true we can just assume this particular one is true as well.

And the most conclusive piece...

3.Nejima probably won't have sex next episode. He doesn't have the guts for it and taking Ririna's virginity would pratically mean she already won in many (mostly japanese) eyes... Hardcore otakus would riot.
And since they won't, how will they deal with the penalty then? Simple, they won't... Cuz there ain't any, nor there's any monitoring.
If they were penalized, the plot would have to take a detour to deal with the new problem.

This anime is actually really uncomfortable. I love the dystopian feel to it. The innocent high school setting in contrast with an oddly sinister government regime gives the anime dark undertones IMO.

Tbh this is my fave anime of the season atm! I think Mikasi is his real government match, and for whatever reason they've changed it as some kind of test against the system. I think this because in episode 1 he gets that text, then the government people happen to turn up in the middle of night from no where? For this to happen, he must have been under close survellance, and I can't see why they'd monitor him that closely unless they have special plans for him.

I also think Mikasi knows something. And I definitely think Nisaka is in on the plot.

I'm surprised people have problems with how they depict the negativity of arranged marriage. As people already mentioned, it is rather obvious they depict it as a negative thing.
I actually found problems with some of the interaction between the characters rather than the arranged marriage system.
It is exactly that they are ignoring LGBT people, and we have Nisaka that is one of them. He wasn't swept under the rug since he frequently appears and he even thought Nejima brought up the subject.
He also explained to Ririna what she doing was bad. And it also indirectly hints why he isn't pursuing Nejima himself because of the consequences. Also quite obvious that Nejima likes Takasaki anyways. Do you need him to actively try to get him to be not "under the rug?"

I'm more bothered by how Ririna is making friends... having people ask her to be their friends. Which is a rather lame way of doing things. Takasaki was more natural...Kind of but still odd since they are kind of rivals, but it is also clear she wants to give up on him yet cannot. Regardless her getting along with those two so quickly and easily without prior conversation is actually the most glaring problem.
She kissed Nejima on their first official encounter, since grade school's eraser incident...
And Ririna just appeared, introducing herself as Takasaki's love rival but no problem in passionately talking about Nejima.

Is that not a actual problem? But people is complaining about the arranged marriage being put at a good light when it is not? People these days.

like saying something nobody asked you to (At least I didn't ask for it) in fact, i was just pointing out the situation overall, even if they are not forced to procreate, the main reason is to procreate, not to form couples. I wasn't exactly talking about what happened on this episode, I was talking about the system overall.

Quite and interesting ep. Will they do it? Will he refuse Ririna? When will Neji know the truth about Yuusuke?!

Anyway, the anime is taking quite an interesting path, especially because it tackles a crucial problem in Japan at the moment. It's quite interesting to imagine ourselves in their position, at least that's my opinnion. Everything would be easier I guess.

Just hope the anime doesn't turn out to be as simple as: Neji stay's with Ririna for a while, then finally understand he wants to be with Misaki and breaks the arrangement and pay's the price...

PS:Igarashi is quite cute.

honestly tho, i still dont understand why everyone is so obedient. im a stubborn fucker, the more you force me the further you'll get from achieving your goal.

i would have prefered it if the show took that route, Nejima just beeing like fuck ya'll im out. and focusing on the dissapointment of his parents and the goverment trying to ruin him for it. now its just another love triangle show with slightly more interesting setting.
hope there will be more focus on the gay guy who seems to be the most resonable character in the show right now. everyone else are just sheep, too easy to manipulate.

Now that was a vivid dream from Riri. Hmm Riri was intrigued with the idea of a french kiss to the point where she will research it eh lol. Hmm its indeed rare to bump into the person thats always behind you in exam rankings in the flesh. Riri really has a lot of nicknames surprisingly. Wow so Arisa is the sister of the doctor that looked after Riri when she was in hospital. Small world indeed. I guess that Ririna that Arisa expected was the one that existed before she met Yukari. Her interactions with him really has changed her a lot. It will be a good thing for Riri to have more than one friend i think. I guess things between Yukari and Misaki are still tedious eh. Now thats an impressive building that the ministry has as their HQ though. Hmm so Yukari's friend has a fiancee thats quite nice. Wow Riri looks pretty different when her hair is down. The way that Riri and Yukari interact must be very different to how his friend and his fiancee picture though lol. But man Yukari really likes things related to burial grounds eh. I really think that Riri and Yukari actually make a pretty good pair in that their interests are very similar to each other. Hmm so Yukari's friend from mid school works for the government eh. This talk certainly was more serious than i thought.

Wow this session's true purpose is teaching them the next step in their relationship eh. A logical choice i guess. But man this talk sure is making them all embarrassed though. Looking at it though the notices and the laws that gave them must have took the government ages to create as it involved not just the government but also the best scientists in Japan as well. So Yukari and Riri are still reluctant it seems. Quite the dilemma that Yukari has though. I think it will be safer to just go with the flow. An interesting and amusing episode. Looks like things are progressing well on the story front. Yukari will have to make a choice soon though thats for sure.

Wait, are Takasaki and Nisaka having the same lecture???
Nope. Those 2 are the most mysterious even in the manga. We still don't know what's the deal with them.

Fuck man FUCK! I love Misaki and nothing will change that, but I really REALLY like Ririna. Her curiosity was really funny when she was reading those books, and her new friend is really cute.

Damn there's some behind this scene shit going on though! That Chick definitely sent Yukari that fake text message. But where to go from here? Maybe Yukari is a test subject for the government? That would be pretty neat.

I think we need to ask ourselves now: Is Nisaka gay for Yukari? or Does Nisaka have a partner as well?

A public, government-funded porn screening. Lovely. With a happy ending, no less... Quite a cliffhanger indeed.
