Nice episode, we got some seafood. Tsugumi's curiosity was fun to see especially with that delusion of the Giant Squid.

I think the episode did a good job at the food making process as well especially in regards to the mechanics. Not a fan of seafood myself but they made that look good. Delicious! The telephone game was funny, loved how Mikio made a scene in front of everyone.

Teacher takes a break to check up on his daughter's class, just for a morning.

Talking about handmade bag and mothers being awkward about teacher not having time to make it every year. He mentioned about getting a new one, but she wants to keep it because it's from her mother.

Cooking squid and taro. The tension when taking care of squid... Safe call for the knife. though that scared Hayami-san's character the hell out of it. Nostalgic flavor. Leftover so that they get more delicious. He decided to decorate that dirty part of her bag instead of making a brand new one.

Tsumugi is obsessed with squids this episode but her reaction to an actual squid was hilarious. Sensei being the only male surrounded by women was a little weird I figured there would be at least one other dad sensei could talk to. tsumugi getting proposed was funny especially her response. I wonder what was tsumugi's epiphany going to be?

Great episode again.

Kotori worrying about sensei in class and munching on that bread was so adorable. <3

It's really nice to see how important spending time with parents is to Tsumugi, She was the reason everyone waited for Mikio.
Kouehi's glee when he found out Tsumugi rejected his proposal. XD

Everything becomes sad when their mother is mentioned :( , Still glad to see Tsumugi treasuring the bag she got from her Mom.
I would like to see a flashback on what happened to their Mom and it would also be refreshing to see Tsumugi's relationship with her mother.

Seafood cooking was nice, The squid cutting was kinda gross. I don't really like squid all that much. :3
Kotori is so sweet, Always looking out for and helping out Tsumugi and Kouhei.

Fairly typical episode as far as this show is concerned, but it's not as if that's a bad thing really. Seeing Mikio get rejected by Tsumugi was pretty funny, but Kouhei's reaction to hearing about his proposal was hilarious. Also, surprising that Tsumugi has such an obsession with squid.

I loved this whole episode, from Kotori in class, Mikio crushing, and whole thing with Tsumigi's bag. This episode melted my heart, made laugh, and even a couple awe moments. I am going to be so sad when this ends. (-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩-̩̩̩_-̩̩̩-̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩)

Sensei going to the child parent meeting of his daughter was nice tho he seemed a bit out of place being surrounded by only mothers.
The bag issue was a bit funny as well tho they solved it nicely.

And they got to make squid this time.

My mother loved okra...it's one of the few vegetables I refuse to eat. I'm not a fan of squid, but it's okay in small amounts.

Anyway, other than food, maybe soon we'll find out what the story is with that bandaid Kotori always has on her finger -- not that we don't already know what it's related to.

Oh Kotori eating in class thinking about what happened to Kouhei.

The parents interacting with their kids at Kindergarten was fun to see.

Lol Mikio wanting to marry Tsumugi in the future & getting shot down.
Tsumugi wanting to hold onto the bag her Mom gave her. AWWWWW!!!

The Squid & Taro stew looks delicious. Nice patch work on the bag.

I love squid so this episode made me extra-hungry if that's even possible. It was cool when Tsumugi imagines herself drifting down into the sea where she comes up an architeuthis, sees herself reflected in its giant eye, but she's a squid!

As much as I like to ship Kotori and Tsumugi's dad, I hope this is the case. For once I'd like to see parental relationship explored without it being ruined by shoving a romance plot in it (like a certain other manga).

Where is the potato peeler?
Using a knife to cut something so slippery and small. At least cut the toro I believe on the cutting board, the risk of cutting a finger isn't as high.

I like how Kotori always gets so excited when the food tastes good.

Kouhei's reaction to Tsumugi rejecting Mikio, omg such a funny scene. Naturally the father would decline.

What I liked the most and found most touching was Tsumugi not wanting another bag. It got a bit of a feels vibe as Koehei got them flashbacks of his wife. The apple patch made the purse look very lovely.

Im srry for stating my opinion but this show rlly had potential to be much greater, to be like emotional and dealing with loss and stuff like that, but instead they chose to make it the same thing every time and almost every episode feels like the same as the last. Its just flat out boring and no, instead of being heartwarming, they decided to try to make tsumugi look as cute as possible even tho she lost her charm 5 episodes ago :l

This episode we finally get to revisit Tsumugi's pre-school. The first half was alright since we finally get some more interaction between Tsumugi and her friends.

The focus quickly switched to bags for the kids and somehow I could relate to all that conversation about kids getting new bags, or getting hand-me-downs, and Kouhei notices at once that he hasn't been paying much attention to these little aspects of Tsumugi's life. He resolves to involve himself, but then comes the dilemma of not knowing how much he should do so.

What I love about this show, is the fact that Kouhei tends to involve Tsumugi's thought process in almost everything he does for her. He asks first before making a decision of whether to buy a new bag or not, and asks again when he wants to add that apple patch to his wife's bag. Heck, just the simple gesture of talking to her at eye level shows that Kouhei tries to talk to Tsumugi as if she'were an equal and not just an extension of his own will. That's good parenting 101 right there, making your kids feel respected and appreciated and building up their confidence.

The cooking this time was a bit more than an afterthought but at the same time I found myself a bit sidetracked by other things. Maybe its cause I'm not a squid person myself, but I wasn't as excited for their end product as I probably should've been.

In the end, it was a beautiful conclusion with Tsumugi proudly showing her friends her "New" bag from Mommy and Daddy. Perfect way to end things this week.

Had a pretty rough day but seeing the smile on Tsugumi and Kotori's faces always puts me in a better mood. Per usual, such a nice and sweet episode. Great anime to calm your day down, at least on my end.

I would really like to see a Kotori focused episode. She's such a wonderful character all around and it would be a shame if they don't for Kotori/Hayami fanboys like myself.

So Inuzuka takes time out to go to Tsumugi's bring your parent to school day. And he's the only man there as every other kid's mother is there for obvious reasons. Lol Tsumugi rejects Mikio big time. Tough luck kid. Lol Inuzuka's reaction to when Tsumugi told him what Mikio said.

And we see Tsumugi wanting to keep her bag no matter what because it was made by her mother and she wants to keep it as a memento. Inuzuka didn't know that she thought like that. She really misses her mother but doesn't show it on her face. And Inuzuka also tries his best to keep Tsumugi happy so that she doesn't feel like anything is missing or something. And they cook squid which ends up tasting almost exactly like how Mrs. Inuzuka made it back in the days.

I don't blame her, getting cut as a child would leave those mental scars.

Imao, it's already great as it is. If you can't appreciate this heart-warming slice of life, maybe it just wasn't for you to begin with. That being sad, all the emotional stuff is still ahead. Read the manga if you're feeling impatient. But in terms of story and pacing this is a typical slice of life - it can be repetitive, it can lack plot or conflict, but the atmosphere has always been more important in this genre. And in this case it is a wonderful healing atmosphere that makes you feel better after a long and difficult day.

Same goes for the suddenly negative reviews. I honestly don't get were all this bashing is coming from. Why does everyone fixate on Tsumugi without mentioning Kouhei and how he deals with loss and being a single father, how he learns new things almost every episode, and does his utmost to keep Tsumugi from feeling as if she lacks something and is worse off than other kids. And what else do you expect from a character of a little girl? Kids are cute by default, the rest of the time they are difficult, and they grow up fast. Yeah, this show skips all the real life gory details and concentrates on the fluff instead, but that's exactly what this is about. And they've been very good at adapting the manga so far.
